@@chasingmypinnacle That's all you pay them? Are you out of your fucking mind? Make it at least $100 a month. Don't get me wrong. It's better than nothing. but you're paying them lees than $1 a day and they believe that they're doing well. If you're being serious, don't be a piece of wank and pay them more. I'd have no issue paying them a minimum of £100 a month. I'd pay more, but for me RS is useless and just a small pass time. If you owned a company, you'd absolutely fuck your employees over and hog all the money for yourself. Now if you have 10 people leveling accounts and you only make $1000 a month, then I can understand, obviously most of us aren't loaded. But jeez. $30 a month is slave labour. On a whole new level.
@@jonnywilson9117 I don’t want to enter this conversation, but I respect what you just said. As an American, my entire life is possible due to child/slave labor that gets me my food, child labor or poverty wages from all the outsourced stuff I buy. All this doesn’t cross my mind often because America is good at hiding the fact of our wealth coming from the misfortunes of others.
Loving the content man. You do some kick ass interviews, that keep me coming back. Along with the other videos you have done. Keep up the great work man!
It’s funny because due to the language barrier, they sell to Venezuelan websites for cheap, then the company sells to English speaking countries for higher margins. It’s like GE flipping lol
I have been involved in gold farming and gold selling with WoW back in the day, I used to run bots all days and check on them while in class. This payed for my rent and other expenses every month. I made around 600-800 euro from selling the gold a month. Accounts did get banned from time to time, but I always had a batch of backup account that where already leveling up in the background
@Yacine Essadry Yes after you could buy gold from WoW itself with the tokens, it crashed hard. Detection system has had major updates too, its not really that easy to start botting from scratch. I'd say that RS is easier now a days
This brings back a lot of memories, much nostalgia. I did this as a kid just to make a few bucks here and there but never thought about perusing it as a life-long thing. Maybe I should do it again seeing as there is a big supply/demand. Crumb, if you need more info/interviewee's I have a few old school stories. All Old School RS mostly but some Rs3 as well
Ironically, the illicit black market jobs underneath Runescape actually pay better than being an employee of Jagex... No wonder they're willing to be corrupt.
@@luisvilca4467 Where there is money be it virtual or real there is corruption. Its funny how deep this goes tho. People are simply doing this as jobs. Money makes the world go around I guess.
the existance of those sites are the reasons why there are botters, and the community hates those, which means less players. (much less profit than if you had some site give you 10k or something a month)
Gold sites are owned by Jagex lmao. You don't get banned for selling gold if you sell to the mainstream sites that intentionally have really shitty buy prices, because you sell directly to Jagex supporting their RWT regime. Otherwise, if you are directly a seller and distributor of gold soliciting your own services then you will be shut down by Jagex.
Your very mistaken my friend, 90% of the players you see walkin around with big level items rwt. Also most of the rs youtubers also buy gold. The more you know.
There's no need to buy gold in 2018, because you can make 3-4m an hour doing Zulrah, Vorkath, Raids, or even 10m per hour doing Theatre of Blood. RuneScape's economic system wasn't designed around constant need for consumables / degradables, so the threshold of sustainable income is much higher, especially when the supply market is always being deflated by bots. The only player-gold sink activity there is would be gambling (PvP, or Duel Arena), both of which are completely rigged so Jagex can actually make money by secretly selling you gold. Otherwise, it is far too easy to make money on this game and amass a huge collection of items, never requiring you to buy any gold.
Dino Spumoni I mean think about how long it takes to farm 50m for the average player, that's like half a day of minimum wage, a lot of players find just spending the 40 dollars for 50m a lot more appealing than spending hours and hours farming the same amount, you save tons of time and in turn can do other shit opposed to farming all the time. Tons of people buy gold that is just the reality of it.
six months ago i was a goldfarmer, all my incomes was by selling osrs gold, a shitty income but better than work in a regular job, i dont even like that kind of games, im a punk skateboarder and a system engineer, the necessity for money was the only reason i start to play, i really hated the game but later i started to like it, all my close friends was making money of it so i give it a chance. i used to play like 12 hours every day. im from venezuela, but right now i dont live there anymore so i just play for fun right now.
@@ohFitZz i cant afford herblore to do raids, all the gold i earn was for sale, i only invest in a shitty barrows armour and a bludgeon, because i used to kill demonic gorillas. i was like a shark, if i stop i Couldn’t eat, venezuela is really fucked up dude. by the way i never know of someone there doing raids because the accounts are basically disposable, the last days i was there, once you sell the gold your account was banned the other day. i know even friends that 10 minutes after the get a new account in members they get banned. all the jagex eyes are in venezuelans. i never tough that i was make money to eat by playing a "nerd kid game" with shitty graphics, but im really grateful that i have money to eat and sometimes buy a bottle of vodka and cigarettes and a year of little savings of money i can buy a plane ticket to leave venezuela.
I met a venezuelan player today when i was skilling hunter,he said he has to do alot of different things irl and on web to eat,he was a nice guy. he is in a job that doesn't even pay sometimes.
This is kind of brilliant in a way. This guy gets the benefits of essentially owning a smuggling operation but without doing anything illegal. He's obviously breaking his user agreement but the worst that can happen to him would be to get banned from the game, which doesn't really compare to prison time. At most he'll have to start again from scratch, which would be tedious and would cut into his bottom line but if he's been sensible with his money and paid his taxes it's not unreasonable to think that he'd have other assets to fall back on.
I ran Karambwan bots when OSRS first released. Karambwan at the time it wasn't a well known money maker so ban rates were ridiculously low. I had 2-3 accounts collecting, one cooking and one selling (before GE), I was only in high school and making sometimes close to $1600 a month. Now I work a 40hr/week job and after taxes make not much more than double that, sometimes I wish i had stayed in the gold farming business. Gold prices back then were also like 1.50/Mil.
holy shit, that bit at the end... always makes ya think...a game as simple as RS generating people more money than whole careers do in terms of cash each year is insane. i can see why some people do this sort of stuff (but it's probably short-term for them tbh, when looking at the big picture, I don't see places like RS staying around 30+ years haha)
OSRS Vera If this is true, he does not need to do for 30 years. If he does for atleast 5 years he will make more money than we would ever do in our lives.
If the people you're referring to are working common office jobs then yeah sure, but 8k a month X 12 = 96k salary/year is not uncommon for people in engineering and STEM related fields, healthcare, law, accounting, etc. In all honesty RWTing is just another form of entrepreneurship, which obviously if you are a successful entrepreneur you will make a lot of money. Your logic is the same as saying why not invest all of my time into making youtube videos for a living. Maybe I'll become the next Pewdiepie and make millions of dollars (sarcasm). First of all, you need to have strong connections to get into this underground market selling virtual gold especially if you want to make big profits. Secondly, it's a lot of time investment so unless you have a lot of free time and plan on doing this for a living it's not really worth it because like I said already 96k year salary is not uncommon for people in the aforementioned jobs. Notice in the video the guy said he was only doing this during the summer because he had free time. It would be very difficult to try and juggle a full load of college courses while doing this RWT gig and even then you wouldn't be making 8k a month because obviously you have less time to commit to your job. So your suggestion to do this for 5 years and quit isn't really a good idea because like I said it's not a lot of money in the long term. A lot of my engineering buddies with summer internships are making 4k a month and they haven't even graduated yet. And why would you neglect pursuing a real job that can make you even more money compared to a RWT gig that you can't even put on your resume? This RWT gig is nothing more than a gig. It's good for some spare cash as a part time job, but not worth it in the long term when you could have invested your time elsewhere. Unless you plan on being an entrepreneur, which not everyone aspires to be, then this isn't worth it. And don't even get me started on all the bullshit you have to take into consideration like IRS knocking down on your door, job security (what will happen when Runescape dies out), what if Jagex decided to pursue a lawsuit? So many things you have to consider and let me just say this if you take nothing else from my long ass comment. Usually karma comes back to bite you in the ass when you are involved in immoral things such as the underground/black market.
But then karma can't get you if you're dead, right? ;D Joking aside. I agree with your statement. It might be one of those random side job you pick up for fun to earn some cash, but it is not a long term career.
AkiraKeiKyo Exactly man. What I'm more interested in knowing though is that one guy really making 250k-300k a month? Not the guy being interviewed in this video. The other guy who I'm assuming is the CEO of these businesses or something? Now, that would be a different story altogether because even if it's a 1 year side gig that would be 3mil-3.6mil earned in that one year alone, which is a fucking substantial amount of money.
I think he's in the top 0.0001% of runescape gold sellers, it's a full time job for sure at his level, and there's no job security/ transferable skills and a high risk of losing profit with scams or detection by Jagex. Also, I have to think that at that profit level, surely the IRS must be curious to see how all this profit is being earned (unless he declares his profit from every source). I would rather go on to garner more job skills/ education to secure a better future than a temporary gig that may or may not always pay so well.
Well I wouldnt generalise on that because you dont know the details how he does it, on 3rd world countries you can get away with these stuff, you just have to stay under the radar especially if you are not making huge amount of money in a month for example 10k or more. Plus since crypto came in most smart gold sellers and farmers use crypto.
Irs shouldn’t get involved. Jagex is prolly running some of these sites.. doubles their profit.. if they ban a couple bots it makes them look good and helps the economy. Win win all around. 40-50% of pple have rwt. I never have and never will. Idk why I replied this long but it just kept going so ya
BATTLE ROYALE FORTNITE STREAMERS HIGHLIGHTS you can lol , small scale gold farming with just you and a buddy running 4 accounts each can make like 500$ a week
@@jenningsgardner2205 The average wage in venezuela is like 8 dollars a month. His and your definition of ''working salary'' are probably slightly different lol
Not realistically. You cannot make 10m a day on a level 1 account, unless it's a grand exchange merching bot on a personal bot engine / bot script. Otherwise any merching script on some shit public bot platform would get you instantly banned in 1 day and you'd lose the entire cash stack.
5:18 i think this is interesting as far as the morality of it goes. Compared to what we get paid in a 9-5 job its nothing, but on the other hand these people and their families might be staving without the source of income from farming gold.
Except buying a bond is no where near as cheap as just buying gold. Buying bonds is about $2 per mil whereas buying gold can be as cheap as 75 cents to the dollar.
lots of people just dont care about getting banned much i know people who buy an account + buy a chunk of gold and just chill playing for fun and usually bot all me menial tasks as well on top of that. its not the end of the world for them to get banned if they even do. some dont even though they break so many rules so severely.
My question is how does he report his earnings? I'm assuming he uses something like PayPal which if you make a certain amount, you have to report it or the IRS comes after you.
Wish Runescape or someone would come out with a game where the in game gold is 1-1 matched with a Crypto currency in real life. You can pay in crypto or real$/credit card for membership, and everything you do in game to make gold can be withdrawn at in game bank to your Crypto wallet. They would have to convert a certain % of membership income to keep up money running in game and people should all have a fun game where playing actually can make them money, imagine each iron ore, each yew log's in game value worth same in real life, 142gp to 142 dogecoins, bytecoins, bitcoins, whatever, then use the bitcoins for more membership or convert it to and fiat $ or what ever you want to do with it. sorry if this has bin done, i havnt learned about it yet for a game like world of warcraft or runescape

@@YEET-yh6qc They can't compete, because they're dealing with profit margins, trying to make money, periodic small losses, directly tied to trading gold. Jagex isn't, their revenue all revolves around subscriptions. Thus, they would probably hurt their subscription revenue by dropping the value of gold low enough, but so would they by stopping botters, so that's a bit of a moot point. Point is, Jagex can lower the price lower than the sites can, and keep it there, and still stay in business, though Jagex has more to lose.
really though it's been going on for YEARS mate. Sparc mac has been RWTing since 2011 how do you think he bought his 2015 mustang boss?? from staking... the only reason why he gets to RWT is because he literally has rs membership paid off for YEARS AND YEARS.
(: I love markeedragon. There has been a huge market for gold selling and farming for a long time in the game Some of these gold brokers have been around for over a decade
