@@alexwood6919I make 37 cash 50 w benefits an hour as a 4 th year commercial electrician. Pay in electrical is dependent on field/ if your in a union or a not shit non union company.
You can make 50k a year being a manager at Chick-fil-A. My uncle is an electrician in the coal mines and makes over 100k a year, in WEST VIRGINIA. That is stupid money in WV.
30an hour isn’t 50k a year and depending where you live a electrician can make way more than30 and hour the electricians in my building make closer to 60 and hour
You can tell he’s an apprentice so $30 is on the low end. We have an apprenticeship school where I live and after 5 years at the school you’re making close to $45 an hour.
@@kelvingutierrez4198Exactly, these people arw fkn stupid they can’t do the math right, yes people make “100k a year” or “90k a year” but that’s literally working more than 40 hours a week. its not a good paying job you just have the ability to get hours which is pretty dumb. what a lot of people want is actually HIGH PAYING jobs by the hour not how many hours you HAVE to work every week
@@kelvingutierrez4198 nah sorry brodie your wrong ik pleanty of people here in illinios in the union who are "journey man" electrican making 100k a year rn once your a master journey man your making 110-150 a year dude in the video is currently still an apprentice once he progress a thru all the hours an school his salary will double
I dont know where this is located but i can assure most journeyman/4 yr electricians make about 55-60 $$ an hr. Im a union laborer in philadelphia & we make 36 a hr. Journeyman carpenters 51, journeymen plumbers 60.
Generally in Canada, licensed commercial electricians and industrial elections make the good money. Power line electricians make the most. Commercial electricians should be bringing in $40-$50 hour depending on how long they been in the trade.
Bro imma be making that senior year of highschool. Currently a junior and am taking an electrical course and 2nd half of my senior year ill be able to work during the 4hrs for that class. I’ll only have one regular high school class to take because I was on the grind freshman and sophomore year before I left my original highschool. So ill take one class in the morning then work the rest of the day. Ill also only have 3 years of apprenticeship and can be a journeyman at 21.
@@migz9956I’m in my second year of college, and I want to leave after this semester to become an electrician. Your not behind bro, your exactly where you need to be 👍
In europe its normal sadly, Germany beeing the nr1 apprenticeship country also switzerland.. you get paid below minimum wage to learn up to 3 years but ypu can get in any area you like… in the us these offers are more rare and mostly trades only
Sounds like your the one that cant do math buddy. You can make 60k but not take home 60k. Do different from any other job that takes out taxes. We dont keep what we make.
@@jmm947 depends on where you live and the regulations /regulatory body where you live. I just want people to know the truth of how trades are. Where I live it doesn't matter how well you do in trade school, how quickly you learn or how hard your work ethic is. It all comes down to who you know. Don't have connections and you will never progress and will be stuck at the lowest level in your trade. The more out of the way the regulations/regulatory body is the better chance you have to actually invest in having a career
@@jmm947Get a job first because they’ll pay for your school. Most companies will at least. School first is as big a waste of time as it gets. Youre trading experience for sitting in a classroom.
Yeah forsure. This guy does rezzy only. They get paid the lowest. To be an industrial sparky is not easy. Hence why they get paid so well. Respect to you my man
@@julianjay9649to add context in my area it’s a border town so companies hire people from across and pay them 9$ an hour for them is good but for any American citizen who works in trade it’s awful
@@julianjay9649but working at your local McDonald you won’t be able to make anything past 19 an hour where as an electrician the starting pay is bad but after a few years you make pretty good money
Your knowledge goes with you everywhere, a different state, different company your knowledge is your value I have the freedom to make my schedule I even take months off of work and sleep in every now and then when I'm blessed to have a lot of side jobs lined up. ⚡️🤘🏽
Pulling wire is pulling wire. Literally what it is you pull wire from point a to point b. Its kinda like plumbing you have piping that comes in and connects where it needs to be. In electrical and data you have wires and instead of laying pipe you pull wire unless your a dope industrail spark and you lay conduit which is pipe rated for electrical wiring and then pull wire through that "pipe"
Unfortunately in Canada, injured workers are abandoned by WCB.. Don’t ever allow yourself to be injured at work! Never allow your income to be based on your ability to perform backbreaking labour. WCB will deny your injury claims and return you to work without recovery. Which is why I abandoned my career as a red seal journeyman plumber and journeyman class b gasfitter. I am now a 39 year old university student. Stay in school kids! Never believe the propaganda of skilled trades being good jobs!! Skilled trades workers have no rights and they are exploited by their employers. I will always regret working as a plumber in Alberta Canada. Construction workers are not even entitled to employment standards like severance pay and notice of termination, no wonder nobody wants these horrible short-term jobs anymore 😂😂😂😂
Oh come on, man. Take your hands out of your pockets, stand proud, and speak thoughtfully. Not all electricians are as modest as this guy. First introduced yourself: who you are what trade are you and what level of education completed, when, where, and why Pick 3 things to talk about: residential commercial, and industrial for example. Don’t talk about money unless that is the point of the presentation. If anything I would talk about how Journeyman treat their apprentices like competitors, and set their trainees up for failure. Maybe talk about how unsafe the job is, and how little training workers receive. maybe talk about the glass hammer and the fools errands. Maybe give some examples and some anecdotes. lol
This is crazy and kinda sad. I clean professionally its not easy but its so simple a person with zero education can clean. I make over 48k a year this why i haven't tried being a carpenter or electrician
First off read the comments before typing. This guy said a bunch of shit that isn't true. First off 30 an hr doesn't equal 50k a year. 2nd, most union electricians makes 30-40 an hr. And that's on the low pay scale. There's ppl making 70 an hr pulling 80-100k yearly.
Also it's not 9,000 hrs. It's 8,000. And it's not a set amount of years. It's whenever you get your hours done is when you can be a journeyman after passing a test
Well in Portugal a self empleyed electrician can make the same as a top engeneer. Its all about offer and demand. All the people with these skills are retiring and all the young people went to university. Saddly you pay around 10€ an hour for a guy with good skills. Its almost 3 times the minimun wage here. Sorry for my bad french 😂
He’s not even fully licensed. He’s an apprentice making a percentage of the journeyman rate. I make 75k a year as a 4th term sparky and I’m not even licensed. The more you know the bigger the paycheque
