@@CyclopsWasRight No worries. I think they aren't mounted here, because Archon had released two exclusive miniatures previously where they were mounted so they were doing something different this time.
Now, with Hordak mounted on the Mantisaur coming out with the Evil Horde, have you tried to play with He-Man & Battle Cat or Skeletor & Panthor yet? What are your thoughts on them? Perhaps Motu: Battleground Tactics 101 could be a theme for a future video - where you did a dive into the three factions and their playstyle?
In truth, I am yet to use Battle Cat or Panthor, because they will need to be painted in sub-assemblies and therefore I can't really use them until they are done. I am very far behind on painting this game!
Great video! Not sure I'll be getting these but they do sound very fun to play and look great. :) Also, you're right about exclusives. I won't have much to add since we know these kind of things happen, even with Kickstarter stuff where many people just leave bits untouched and sell their bundles on a year later for twice the price of their backing. Hopefully we see it less going forward, but I think this kind of fomo marketing will continue to be around.
They are lovely. It's such a shame they decided to make them promos because I can see a lot of people missing out on them. I'm quite laid back about not getting exclusives myself - it's just part of the hobby I learned to live with; I didn't even worry too much about missing out on HeroQuest's Guardian Knight expansion - but it's never nice to see people disappointed because they don't have access to things they want.
I hate any limitations on stopping fans buying your products. You don't get bonus points for a small concession in my opinion. I would have bought both these for the models. Nobody wins as I won't by from touts. As usual I'll follow your great content, but they don't get a pass from me
I agree I don't like exclusives and promos. I did run a video when I first heard about these to let as many people know as possible, but unfortunately I only reach so far. Archon making them available in some way is still worthy of recognition in my opinion, but it doesn't forgive making them exclusive in the first place, which I don't think they should have done.
The problem with Arcon (unless I'm mistaken) as in EU you're liable for import tax if you buy direct and shipping costs, which seriously ramp up the costs. I'd love to support smaller companies and love your videos championing them, but while I'll buy the villain expansion (why are villains always cooler than heros) I won't buy exclusives and just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, rather than the warm feeling I'm after.
I'm in the UK and I've purchased all the expansions and promos direct from them so far. It works out expensive with international shipping, but I haven't been caught for any additional charges. The regular expansions end up in retail and can be found at most online retailers in the UK which is the most cost-effective way to get those.
Amazing, i love how the models look and your way of reviewing them. there is any place where we can find a copy of the cards even as a picture? me and some of my friends got the exclusive miniatures from fields of eternia of all the main characters riding their companions ( He-Man, Skeletor, She-Ra and Hiss) and couldn't get our hands on the battleground versions of H-man and Skeletor

Oh, I should mention though that the upgrade slots are slightly different - Panthor is 1 x melee 2 x magic, 1 x shield, 2 x trinket (so he loses an armour slot but gains an extra magic slot). Battle-Cat is 1 x melee, 1 x range, 1 x shield, 3 x trinket (so he loses an armour slot and gains a trinket slot).
These are great minis and like you I’m glad Archon released them in store for purchase. Did you back their Kickstarter Fields of Eternia? I’m wondering if the minis will be the same scale so will give alternate poses.
It's very rare for me to back any crowdfunding campaigns, and I didn't like the look of the Fields of Eternia gameplay (although I will check it out in more detail when it hits retail). The models will be the same scale - this Battle Cat promo is actually the same sculpt as the one from Fields of Eternia.
This sucks. Not the minis, they are great. But I got the Info online AFTER the time was over to get them. And I'm a backer of a fuckload of Archon Stuff (not this thou, as I don't wanna start another game) and really would have loved these for me just to have them. The video is great too, would love to see them painted.

I posted about these a while back when I heard about them in the hope of letting as many people as possible know about them while they still had a chance to buy them, but unfortunately my channel doesn’t have the reach. I really want a copy of this game to bad companies can’t creat a skirmish game that can be played solo! it would have been awesome to have a solo skirmish style game with a enemies card deck driven AI! Unless you have someone willing to play this game with you it’s otherwise useless!
I play lots of games solo that aren't intended for it, including this one. I've never had an issue with it. It's really only the games with a lot of hidden information that cause problems. Also, the new Legends of Preternia expansion includes a solo or co-operative mode of play, versus the AI-controlled tyrantisaurus.
