Donna: “Sometimes I think you need someone” Doctor: “I don’t need anyone” Donna: “Yes, you do. Because sometimes I think you need someone to stop you” Donna’s first episode, and that line only gets even more true with time.

This is why The Doctor NEEDS a companion. To stop him from going over the edge like that.

''I'm the master, and you will obey me!'' - The Master. ''Laws of time are mine, *and they will obey me!''* - The Doctor.

This is up there with my favourite episodes ever. It has everything I love about this show - great characters, a great premise, a little bit scary, great emotional moments, great performances all round and fire music.

You’re right they could’ve survived and the doctor could’ve just taken them to another inhabited world. The point was he’s not human he was unhinged here, in time lord victorious all or nothing mode with no companion to ground him. So anything less than defying time completely was a failure in his eyes.

The Doctor almost came close to acting like The Master.

This is my second favorite episode of Doctor Who, with the first being Heaven Sent with Peter Capaldi

I like how Garrett is more into mischievous behavior and Noah is his Jiminy Cricket. Fun fact: Houston has an underground tunnel system for pedestrians and ... ohw, wait, you meant fun facts about the episode. The name of the Mars colony, Bowie Base One, is a reference to musician David Bowie and his song "Life on Mars". Also, I seldom skip a reaction video but 'The Waters of Mars' I usually don't watch. Personal fun fact: I didn't skip yours.

The doctor's pain, and the doctor's fear. It gets the better of him here. He lets pride, and arrogance, and his rebellious nature all mash together. I'm going to do what I want to do, consequences be damned. He has a heart though, and that hard snaps him back to reality when he sees her end her life.

About 11 years after this aired, got more content exploring the Doctor slipping into his Timelord Victorious mindset again, while trying to clear his head from the events of Bowie Base One/Adelaide's house, in the Dark Times (when there were vampires and Racnoss (Red Spider from the 2007 Christmas Special) and before the Gallifreyans were able to time travel/became Timelords)

Yeah guys this is a solid great horror story for sure really enjoyed this one, not to mention the moral choices that the Doctor makes or could make at the end and how a slight turn one way or the other could have him as dangerous as say the Master, if he ever crossed that line. Well guys David Tennant's finally is almost here, curious to see how you react to it and how you will feel right at the end of it all, and the transition to Matt Smiths era.

Someone look up The Valyard. He's a villain from classic Doctor Who. The Valyard is the embodiment of The Doctor's darker side. This is where he begins.

A Doctor Who tragedy, something that they rarely do in it's entirety. Also, the spacesuit he's wearing is from season 2! The Impossible Planet / Satan Pit.

This is the first video I’ve seen of yours but why would you tell them how many episodes Tennant has left. Surely you’d get more of a reaction if it was a surprise. Idk they don’t even look interested anyway 😂

Good job picking up on the doctor turning into the master because remember what The master said when the doctor critised him for changing history, basically what the doctor said here.

Although I am sure that you already watched and recorded "The End of Time," technically, Ten's next appearance in his timeline is on the two-part, "The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith" on "The Sarah Jane Adventures." But if you haven't recorded End of Time, this episode of SJA is really good, features an enemy that messed with Donna, and sets a tone that leads into his final episodes.
@Jim_The_Fish

Oh yeah, I always forget the Time Beetle was part of the Trickster’s Brigade. SJA is wonderful, especially any episode that features a Doctor.

It's the implications so much as the action. The Doctor has suddenly decided that he has the right to change anything he wants, any event in history he doesn't like. He's basically assumed the role of a god. Yes he's saving people, but where does it end. Does he go back and try to change what happened to Donna and risk the reality bomb going off. And by changing history he would be preventing certain people from even being born, does the Doctor have the right to decide that. The Doctor isn't infallible and he's just taken hold of a terrifying amount of power.

13:20 This was not the Doctor’s finest moment. He had become arrogant in this episode.

Adelaide looked into the eyes of god and was disgusted. There has never been a stronger character in the show imo.

Emotional episode, great reaction guys, ..Fun fact Doctor Who wouldn't have been made years ago , but because it was made by BBC children's department it was. First ep was shown the same day as President Kennedy's assassination, so hardly was watched ,so they repeated the episode a week later .

The reason for the specials us partially due to the demanding nature of the show... it's take a lot of time and money to produce, and it's maker is a public station... As such.. every few years they "Rest" the show, but in place of a season, the specials were created... sometimes they fill the Christmas season spot... In a few seasons time they toy with breaking a season in two... But all good.... Trivia Fact... the treatment on the victims jaw was in a similar vein to a classic series monster that also came from Mars....
