Im glad Judge Holden is getting more attention. He's a very well written villain and is a perfect counter to the "pure evil villains are boring" argument
I dont get whats so interesting about him i havent read the book but for what i understand He Just does terrible Things for the Sake of IT He is pretty scary but why do you think He deserves the attention
@ab-jl5bz I strongly recommend reading the book before judging his character then (no pun intended lol). That's kinda the point because he represents the worst of mankind which is quite terrifying considering there are real people that really show just how cruel a human can be (He's actually based off a real person from what I heard too). It's pretty complicated to explain what exactly is interesting about him but at least watching people give good reviews about him might help explain why he's a great villain
@@benjamincuevas9627 nah the worst part about the judge is that he is all the evil that humans are capable of without restraint. That's more disturbing than simply being the devil.
@@user-ll3so2ww2z i think for me it means that , he basically can do anything towards u without fearing any consequences and conviction . He can do all sort of things towards u making his puppet , plaything , and slave .
Love all the different interpretations of his appearance, but Cormac Mccarthy detailed his appearance so well, that there is no bad interpretation, since all of them display his odd and wicked appearance perfectly.
@@osmanyousif7849they’ll need to find someone that looks similar to him, then use some makeup and make him look just like Holden, after that it’s up to the actor to do the rest
@@diegojimenez5937 very very very very very very few are doing it unironically and even those who are certainly only believe themselves to be evil in a similar way, not the other pedo stuff
"Whatever In creation exists without my knowledge, exists without my consent” He never sleeps, he says that he will never die. He dances in light and in shadow, and he is a great favourite. He never sleeps, The Judge. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.
@@Dootalt They're prob joking because there's literally no way people view him as a sigma. Patrick Bateman and Homelander being "sIgMaS" is one cringy thing, but saying Judge Holden is a sigma would be genuine incel activity
In Russian translation it sounds much darker. The voice of Igor Taradaikin, the man who voiced Walter White, is much more suitable for this work. You can listen
This dude makes joker look like a normal clown Makes griffith look like a saint Makes homelander loom like a child Makes lucifer look like a normal human bru This dude is the meaning of pure evil
@ggs793.- Judge Holden is biblical accurate Lucifer. Many times throughout the book, it's heavily implied that Judge is the devil himself. Judge isn't pure evil, he is evil itself.
1. homelander is already a child 2. lucifer........... 3. judge rapes children but griffith raped casca soo yea. he would make griffith look like a normal guy but not a saint
AM is vengeful and thinks what he is doing is right. The Judge however knows good and evil, and is symbolic to Satan who knew it too. The Judge knows what's good and what is evil, and does evil just because he can.
He never rizz. He says that he will never fanum tax. He yeets in light and in shadow and he is the GOAT. He never doin’ the griddy, the rizzler. He is mewing, mewing. He says that he will never skibbidy gyatt the outrizzler
Wasn't there no records of his existance other than the memoir from someone and the urban legends during the Mexican-American war? I still think he existed, but damn it must be creepy as hell...
Blood Meridian is one of my favorite books of all time, introducing me to many works of Cormac McCarthy and giving me an understanding of literature and atrocities of man at such a young age. Judge Holden has to be one of the most terrifying villains in any book or piece of media I’ve consumed. While the story doesn’t outright show you what he’s done (there are plenty of things he’s done in the story dw), he’s is portrayed in such a way as a supernatural force that could never be stopped, described in a way where your brain is forced to paint a horrifying picture of such a man, who is more a less a ruthless deity than a man. Blood Meridian will continue to be one of my favorite pieces of literature ever, being helped more by the presence of such an evil, but also not romanticizing the Wild West as something like in old novels or movies, but showing the brutality of man, holding no punches while you go on a wild ride. I always gush about this book when it comes up, which is present now lol, but I highly recommend anybody to read it, not only for Judge Holden, but for a brutal epic that should be read
He never sleeps. He says that he will never die. He dances in light and shadow and he is a great favourite. He never sleeps the judge. He is dancing…dancing.he says, that he will never die
@@user-ln8gh1pi8k "If God meant to interfere in the degeneracy of mankind would he not have done so by now? Wolves cull themselves, man. What other creature could? And is the race of man not more predacious yet? The way of the world is to bloom and to flower and die but in the affairs of men there is no waning and the noon of his expression signals the onset of night. His spirit is exhausted at the peak of its achievement. His meridian is at once his darkening and the evening of his day. He loves games? Let him play for stakes. This you see here, these ruins wondered at by tribes of savages, do you not think that this will be again? Aye. And again. With other people, with other sons."
I love how judge as a character symbolizes as both a regular evil human (in the sense he doesn’t have supernatural abilities in parts of the book, especially the beginning) and a supernatural demon or devil. Or he can be interpreted by the end of the book as evil it self. It’s possible that the kid actually never saw judge again after their final talk in the jail or after the kid made a run for it. It’s possible the judge appearing at the end of the book is just the reflection of the kid. It is stated that when he first saw judge again in the end was because he saw him through a reflective surface. Yes, the kid did become a better person than he was when he was with the gang. At least that’s somewhat we as the reader can possible conclude. The kid isn’t the high light of the many autarchies that occur when his in the gang. His usually only mentioned after a gang massacre and it isn’t really stated what he was doing with the gang. The book really only focuses on the kid and his thoughts when his forced to decide his fellow gang members fate due to their mortal wounds. It’s actually brilliant how the author kinda purposefully cherry picks each character’s actions to present evil and morally and good.
I think it also helps with the idea that besides his basic features this character is 'as evil as you can imagine' and whatever the reader imagines Judge to look like will probably be more personal to what they perceive as evil-looking.
I am only learning about blood meridian, and so far its very interesting but I only heard about blood meridian from hearing about the Judge, and that is proof enough that he is a wonderful villain and a horrible person. He transcends his story and becomes his own thing, he will never die
Its interesting to note that ever depiction of him, hes bald and and albino. Yet hes only ever described as pale and hairless, which ment clean shaven in the times the book takes place.
