Robert Baratheon was crazy good with a great huge warhammer at his peak. He was almost unbeatable in battle, crazy warrior. This was way before the show started though, quite some years ago at his youth. He does mention using a warhammer also, in an episode in the first season when he was narrating about the big Trident battle and Rhaegar.

Did you forget that they literally killed every single Targaryen that they found? They took that place away from her family. Y’all’s Bran jokes are so funny. “I’m sure cutting off heads is satisfying, but that’s not the way you get people to work together.” That’s a true Stark. Ned ruled the same way and people loved him because he united and supported his people instead of beheading or starving them every chance he got. Sansa has seen just about everything in the political field. She’s seen the way Ned, Catelyn, and even Margaery have ruled with love and devotion vs. the way Joffrey and Cersei have ruled with fear and cruelty. She understands what works and what doesn’t. You guys were both right with the Sansa and Arya debate. Last time Arya saw her sister, she was a stuck up girl who wanted to be royalty and not really anything else. Now does Sansa like having power? Sure. It gives her stability and control back over her life where it was missing for so long. But to say she views it in the same lens as when she was younger is to miss the point of who Sansa has become. I think it’s also important to point out that out of all the Starks, the sisters have probably gone through the worst and have heavy trust issues because of it. Welcome back Boyz. Loved the Sansa & Arya debate. Both of you make some strong points. Mike, one great call out in this reaction. Totally agree with you also on the pace. No need for filler, at this point of the show. What I find totally hypocritical with the people who bitched about the pace, is that the same people were on board in HOTD, when 10 yrs go by between episodes in some cases. Why? It's because there was a built in hate from the book readers, who were loyal to the author of the books, who was responsible for overlooking HOTD because the pace was written in his book, skipping years of what went on in the lead characters' lives. But the funniest thing to me is that George's books finished at the end of season 5 in GOT, the pace was no longer his to follow. Therefore, there was a built in hate, because the screenwriters took over for at least the next 20 episodes after season 5 finished, not with whom the hyprocrites were aligned with. What is longer, 10 yrs or the time it takes a ship to travel from Dragonstone to Eastwatch? Not even close.

Where was this mercy and compassion discourse when Jon executed Ollie? That kid had his pain and grief used by the adults so he would join the treason against Jon and you said "piece of shit, fuck him" when Jon hanged him. I still think Jon did the right thing cause there was no coming back from that but why is suddenly Daenerys a flip flop piece of shit for killing the enemies (who had just betrayed House Tyrell and joined the Lannisters) she was just fighting an episode ago? The common thing, and what almost every other character would do, is to take the Tarlys as prisoners so you can negotiate with them but she gives them the chance to join her cause from the very beginning (if they don't, they remain as her enemies) and they respond with arrogance You just proved that the showrunners applying 21st century morals to Daenerys by having Tyrion there judging her and being horrifingly shocked by pretty common sense decisions he would've agreed to back in season 4 and before was an effective strategy to demonize her

A lot of people give Dany crap for that choice to bend the knee or die but this is a time of war. It’s like saving private Ryan, by being honorable in a brutal time and sparing a guy that guy then returned with more people and got many of them killed. Sometimes people forget that the world was a very brutal place and sparing your enemy often meant they’d then return to try and kill you

In the books, Robert is a taller stronger man. Imagine a shorter fatter Mountain. It makes his use of a big hammer more feasible than the show, given the choice of actor. King Robert in his prime was a top tier fighter with the hammer.

Notice how Sansa made a reference that cutting people's heads is not how we get people to work together, in the same episode as Daenerys executing the Tarlys for not joining her.

See, there's a major error here with Randall Tarly, it has been established he was a more conservative Lord, one that would never have actually sided with Cersei, whose only claim to the throne is essentially: "everyone else is dead so who better than her?" Also with that more traditional mindset, he would actually never even bend the knee to a woman, though truthfully he could at least be convinced to bend to Dany because at least she actually has King's blood inside of her. There's might be many problems with the final two seasons but I still love this show to death, so know that any criticisms come out of love for the series but spite for D and D who wanted so bad to work on Star Wars they didn't pay any attention to the plot holes and errors they were creating so easily
