I both hate and love how Waluigi's and Mickey's stand off is actually epic. (Mostly love)

When Mickey seems to be wholesome but then mentions his ways: "Something’s wrong I can feel it“

I like how mickey is portrayed as the character who’s already finished his story is just doing side quests at this point

It's the idea that Mickey, Donald, and Goofy care so much about Sora that even if they can't go with him, they'd do anything to make sure he makes it.

"You were the most requested fighter by far!" *The second most requested fighter approaches*

I like that this kinda feels like a mix of the whole 'evil mickey' and 'canon mickey' thing. Have Mickey be willing to get his hands dirty a bit, at least by implication, but also caring about his friends enough to go the extra mile for them.

Mickey: "You only live in mods" Waluigi: "You won't live at all"

I like this badass Mickey more than dictator Mickey. Shows his kindness while also saying he “has his ways”. Was also expecting him to duel wield with a paintbrush and keyblade, since he’s in his classic/Epic Mickey attire here.

It’s weird seeing Mickey as something other an a hate filled mafia boss who’s only concern is money and actually cares about his friends

This is the first animation regarding Sora in smash where Mickey Mouse isn't portrayed as an evil corporate overlord. I loved the Waluigi twist. (edited my comment to reduce confusion)

For anyone wondering, the music at the end is called "Two Dragons" and its the final boss theme of Yakuza 0.

I love the fact this Mickey is like the character and truly wants the best for Sora, not being the evil marketing genius it's always parodied as if he was Disney's owner.

The first half of this really tugged on my heart. Sora's disbelief, Mickey's kindness and Dearly Beloved playing was just amazing, but when he said "I won't let you down, Your Highness!" it just broke me completely.

Mickey: “I had to pull a few strings” Sakurai: “ *you* had to pull some strings?”

Honestly seeing a "nice" Mickey is refreshing.

His smash moves are going to be kicking people with his comically large shoes.

Ok so this is the story line I’ve thought of. For years, Waluigi has been requested. He’s seen that every time when they ask for characters or see who people want. And each time, they pick someone else. Eventually, Waluigi snaps and begins targeting the characters chosen and has the intention of taking their fighter spot. No matter the cost. But each time, he arrives too late. Only to be held back long enough by their friends to allow the gateway to close, leaving Waluigi stuck without his recognition. Joker, Hero, Banjo & Kazooie, Terry, BYLETH, Min Min, Steve, Sephiroth, Pyra & Mythra, and even Kazuya. But this time was different. Waluigi knew exactly who was next to join the pantheon. Sora. Mickey had already planned for him to attack soon but still didn’t really understand why he was such a threat. Being the reason he sent Donald and Goofy to intercept him. Even they were pretty confident such a weird man in a purple suit couldn’t take them down. But were they ever so wrong. Arriving just with enough time to stop Sora’s entrance, Waluigi sees only one figure standing in his way. Mickey. He’s been trying to get in this position for what felt like centuries. Now, only one final opponent stands in his way. He charges up what ever power he has left in his last ditch attempt to join his brother and finally receive his recognition. Then he charges Mickey….. Long story short, Waluigi isn’t in smash

Hands-down the most terrifying, rage-filled “WAH!” I’ve ever heard.

Mickey's a different beast when he's not possessed by Disney's Lawyer team.

I really love the way you created that wholesome humble vibe between Sora and Mickey. With their dialogue, the music, it felt so natural. Then just the pure badassness of Waluigi. This is a gem. Thank you for making this.

This is like the one time where Mickey isn’t identified as a greedy corporate entity, but just a kind and generous mouse.

Mickey’s approval of Sora here actually has a beautiful reflection on how he got into Smash Bros. As it turns out, Disney had _zero_ qualms with Sora being included; They gave Nintendo the greenlight. The hesitant one was actually _Nomura,_ specifically because he (seemingly) needed to remove all reference to Disney’s own properties in the process.

Why is this the most incredible thing I've ever seen. I now would give my soul for a full fight scene. I'm not going to ask you to do that though, animating is hard and you already do great work.

It was actually kinda heartwarming to see a wholesome Mickey.

God, Two Dragons is such an incredible piece of music. Yakuza 0 is a goldmine for epic theme songs.

This is probably the nicest Mickey’s ever been portrayed when it’s come to all the Sora in Smash jokes.

This has sonic energy. Also, the idea that the face of disney says “he had to pull a few strings” when we all know FOR CERTAIN that Disney price-gouged Nintendo for the keychain alone, well it’s ironic as hell.

I would love to see a sequel to this where we get to see Mickey actually fight Waluigi

Reminder: Donald Duck knows and can perform Zettaflare, the most powerful spell ever seen in Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy. Canonically making Donald the most powerful character in both respective franchises. And Waluigi was able to defeat him...

I love how Pringus can make Mickey Mouse look _actually_ legitimately cool, without feeling even the slightest bit silly. And he doesn't seem like a corporate-greed villain like most joke portrayals of him, he's actually really wholesome the way he supports Sora.

Most forget Mickey can be a total badass when handled by the right people. That ending was awesome.

The best part is, neither of them are in the wrong. Waluigi's been neglected for over a decade now while Sora's had overwhelming public support. This ain't a battle with a clear good guy, which makes it that much juicier.

This version of Mickey is so much better. I always ignored the memes and imagined Mickey as a sweet and wholesome person with a side of mischievousness. Not an evil sorcerer who wants to own everything in the world.

Definitely appreciate the Mickey energy in this. You managed to have this outwardly friendly exterior that masks terrifying pragmatism and ruthlessness. Really captures the feel of Disney as a corporation.

I love how people keep saying "I'm glad Mickey's not portrayed as evil in this" as if he's been evil forever when in Kingdom Hearts he's as nice as can be lol Mickey is the same guy who essentially locked himself in hell to fight demons shirtless for multiple years, and raged a 58 minute war with a full team of Final Fantasy Characters and Stitch from Lilo and Stitch with a gun against 1000 heartless demons because one of them killed goofy with a rock. The little mouse is essentially Keyblade Yoda in KH lol

I like how this puts Mickey in a light where he actually cares about his friends unlike other animations, he genuinely wants sora to be happy and to do so, got him into smash bros.

Oh my God the idea of Mickey making Sora's dream to be in Smash come true at any cost is so damn wholesome! I love this angle so much more then the constant 'Disney is an evil vice gripped corporation'. It's so much more wholesome and sweet!
