Cal would've been fine at any other school in the country other than Kentucky! The dude has consistently brought in top talent and won in the regular season. There is some luck involved in march and it wasn't on his side the last few years. That will change now that he's at Arkansas and it would've changed if he was at Kentucky still. Razorback nation is proud to have him!! Woo Pig Sooie!

Yes, some luck is needed in March....but luck isn't why Oakland, Kansas St, and St. Peters knocked off KY. Cal was completely outcoached...as usual. He has no gameplan whatsoever and cannot adjust in game. In his early years at KY he simply out talented everyone...and it got him 1 National Championship, 12 years ago when the game was vastly different. He can't win that way anymore in this new climate. Glad you're happy to have him....KY fans were done with him. You'll win some big games, but not in March. No coach has done less with more than Cal.

He's 65 so he's probably got 3 or 4 seasons left if say, let's see what happens!! He made 50 million in his last 5 seasons at Kentucky, and he won one NCAA tourney game and one SEC tourney game and had the most talented team in every one of those seasons!! I'm just thankful that he bolted when he knew the gig was up! 😂😂

Im thankful that Calipari was able to win a title with the NBA team he had in 2012 with generational talent Anthony Davis and the other top 5 nba draft picks but the truth is he literally had the most talented team in the country almost every single one of his 15 seasons and never played up to what they should have. He's a great recruiter of highschool talent and is able to convince multiple highschool all Americans to play together and share, but other than that he is average at best as an X and O coach and his attitude towards the importance of SEC tourneys, saying that its not important are his down fall. Literally could care less about titles and championships because he knows he can't compete with actually good coaches so he tries to down play their importance. Regardless, he doesn't have alot of years left at 65 and he's not gonna come close to winning another title, but he will probably still be able to recruit good high school players even at arkansas

He didnt take his best two assistant coaches Orlando went to Illinois an the offense guy that changed thru offense to shooting alot more 3's went to Fresno state.

Does being “rejuvenated” mean he has learned how to game plan, draw up plays and make positive substitution patterns? Highly unlikely. His new team has talent but not near overwhelming enough to beat good teams when it comes down to in game tactics

The reason UK was entertaining for the first time in 8 years last year was because they had 3 of the best offensive players in the country and 3 of the 6 best shooters Cal's ever coached. None of those three will be in Fayetteville next year to bail him out. UK averaged 89ppg last year which is about 15 more than Cal traditionally averages in his slow boring ass vintage Big East circa 1989 style of play. He used to be a great defensive coach cause he's great at teaching toughness and effort. But, ever since CBB adopted the more sophisticated pick-and-roll NBA-type actions, he's been lost.

John Calipari hasn't made it past the first weekend since 2019 Bruce Pearl hasn't made it past the first weekend since 2019 Chris Beard hasn't made it out of the first weekend since 2019 Scott Drew has made it out of the first weekend once in the past 7 seasons Bill Self has made it out of the first weekend once in the past 6 seasons Dan Hurley has never made it past the first weekend in 10 seasons before the previous 2 seasons All I'm saying is that narratives change quick, and it takes some luck to make a run in the NCAAT. As long as Cal is finishing in the top 3 in the SEC like he has the past 3 seasons, then he will have a good run sooner rather than later.

As long as Cal recruits the same way, long term he will get the same results. We will see nearly 30 wins, if not 30+, early. Later, the program will buckle and run out of gas because of youth.

'He took the entire staff'......minus Antigua and Welch the two best coaches on his staff. One of Cal's biggest weaknesses is his horrible coaching staff. He has the worst coaching tree of any recent CBB HOFer and it's not really close. Kenny Payne are you kidding! The guy's only good skill is teaching Centers and PFs how to shoot left-handed jump hook shots. Once World Wide Wes got away from HS basketball prospects Kenny's recruiting prowess became zero overnight. Arkansas should be pretty solid next yr with two 5th yr guys in Johnell Davis and Jonus Aidoo anchoring things and Big Z should be way better with a proper offseason and preseason of preparation. He also brought in 3/4 of the highest ranked Kentucky recruits. But analytically, this team projects to be a team that shoots maybe 33% from three and be a 16-20 attempt-per-game team from three. I just don't see how you can score enough these days to win playing like that in 2024.

John Calipari is the biggest joke of the NCAA in terms of tournament success. There will be NO Success in the tournament for Arkansas.
