He's got a 4 film series of westerns coming out called Horizon.

It was the most expensive movie made up to that time but just couldn't turn a profit on theatrical release despite being one of the best grossing films of the year. Audiences liked it but the studio wasn't happy and Costner, as leading man and one of the producers lost some credibility for a while

​@IntrospectorGeneral Which is stupid, really. It's only a Turkey in a financial sense. Costner shouldn't have lost any credibility. There has been actor's who have made worse movies and it hadn't affected them.

@@PM-vb4od It eventually made a reasonable profit when went to video and cable. He directed and produced another dystopian future scifi movie, 'The Postman' two years later and it bombed hard at the box office and that probably did him more harm. He has continued to appear in major roles and produced/directed in good movies like Thirteen Days and Open Range.

It's one of my favorite movies of all time.

in the movie he cuts her hair as punishment for drawing pictures with crayons all over his boat. so it was a crude haircut along with all the reasons others gave.

That's Waterworld. He probably did. The Drifter feels like Joel from Last of us on the water. Enola is probably the first kid to actively taunt him and antagonize him, which is why she became his friend because he respects her guts in Waterworld.

There were floating settlements everywhere with supplies and those guys were raiders.

The movie is underrated and fun but it's also silly/stupid and makes no sense and is very cartoonish. Critics are allowed to have their opinions, tbh.

Human beings are fatally illogical.

They actually explained this in the movie. Since having the ability to breathe underwater, is considered taboo by many people as that means you’re not human. This also means you have an unfair advantage to scrounge up valuables from the sea floor, making you able to get more rich by the sale of dirt. Basically, you would be in the minority and would be treated as unnatural by the people, leading to them to take drastic measure ls against you.

@@Honre123 I heard that as far as a lot o' people are concerned, that soundtrack might've been the only good thing to come out of the entire Waterworld IP. I haven't played it myself, or any of its other versions, but I heard they're all equally bad.
