Is it wrong that I get a bit of schadenfreude out of seeing Punk get beat on the sets, and then he immediately gets mad salty and goes for the "Money match me, bitch!" clap-back? Dude's ego is so huge he can't take the L in stride and be the bigger man.
I swear punk uses that "money match me then" as an armor. Cause whenever someone agree to it he switches up and goes "no chump change" and "where is it? Show it to me"
@@andyboy624 Which brings the question of what, exactly, does he consider "chump change"? Because if he was really playing for pride, his chump ass would be happy to play for a buck. Like you said, he uses it as a shield because we all know that even the pros in the FGC aren't making mad bank, so it's not like someone is going to walk in and drop like five straps of hundreds on the table to shut his ass up.
If you think about it🤔. The match he lost to Chris T was in essence a money match already💵💵💵😂. Waaaaay more money than any typical money match could net u🙃
@@andyboy624 You're right. It's his default fallback anytime he loses to anyone. Even to randoms online. Dude really trying to harass some random casual online with "10k MM" over some random rank match loss its embarassing.
Love to see Karma doing its thing. Punk literally overreacted over some light friendly banter from Xiaohai and went full toxic manchild mode for no reason. Now he can hold that L losing to someone whom SF isnt even their main game and once again take 2nd place and not have any major Ws under his belt lmao.
I don't think Punk takes all the trash talking that seriously. He's grinning like an idiot as soon as Xiaohai takes that first game off him - that's not the reaction of somebody with serious personal beef, nor a "toxic manchild". Punk just likes to stir shit, probably because it makes things fun to watch and it lights a fire under the ass of his competition. Maybe I'm capping, but I think Punk wants better competition, he strikes me as the type of person who would get very bored of always being the best player in the room.
Exactly the same with Mr Crimson. He talked mad trash, and when Crimson freed him 3 times in a row (even with his sub character) all of a sudden they're "friends" That's the very definition of a classless bully : strong against weaks but weak against strongs.
The purpose of having a money match is to add the element of pressure to the match and see who comes out on top in that situation. No Punk-Xiao Hai money match will be as important as what just happened. Punk can cope and seethe all he wants. Talk shit get clipped.
Punk has to hold that L. He talked mad shit. But to tell you the truth, as much as I love punk he has a tendency to choke. He is the king of second place (though he still may be the best in the world).
@@bsk1988 He has 3 first place finishes, 5 second place finishes, and 4 third place finishes in SF6. There are only 3-4 players that can compete with that. And he does that in one of the two toughest regions at that.
Its so funny to me how Even after so much shit talk and build up to get to have his revenge and his moment XIaohai was so polite and respectful lmao its almost awkward but it was awesome those moments when they happen in Fighting games it feels amazing. Shout outs to both teams and congrats to Bandits they did their best and the matches were great.
@@larryfocus yeah but honestly he's not at the level to compete against top players there. Punk calling Xiao Hai trash is like calling Nephew way worse than trash
The true sad story of this is this is all pre-recorded. It just takes so much away from the experience. We all knew this was recorded all the way back in 2023 Aug or Sept, and the players and character strats have grown so much since then I will love to see more recent matches.
The whole thing was just bad coaching. When Chris lamed out Punk using Ken and attacked basically walking backward he taught that to Xiao Hai. So now the Ken Cammy match up tipped way in Ken favor now. At that point, Newphew should have gone up against Chris and Big Bird against XiaoHai. Punk needed to sit our.
@@ryo-kai8587still n entertainment business regardless of how professional u are suppose to do whatever to win but they give that one dude shot for using HC
I can tell a lot of these people in the comments have never talks trash in person in their life. Probably mostly over a mic. As someone who talks trash regularly I expect it thrown back at me 100 fold if I don’t back up what I’m saying and I take it on the chin. Punk knows this. If it wasn’t for players like him the FGC would be stale as hell. It’s so corny seeing comments like “he deserves it”. Well no shit, thanks for pointing out the obvious. He knows it more than anyone.
Either if it is intended or not it is quite obvious that people want to see a run back. Trash talking during regular season just to lose in the decisive match is just dramatic af. It will be too far for people to straight up hate Punk because of it but seeing his words being backfired and silenced in GF is just cinematic gold.
@@abc2390986 I think that’s the point, punk has posted videos of him and Xiaohai running sets together on his RU-vid channel after sf league happened. Punks not stupid. It’s purely entertainment. Skill alone would have garnered him a fan base regardless, but it’s his attitude and trash talk that made his career what it is.
i am a fan of how punk plays and think that the heat he brings to the table makes the matches more exciting, but xiao hai won when it mattered most so just take the L bud@@dkolzbr
I don’t even think xiaohai meant anything negative when he said that. I understand why he said it, it’s pretty common in Chinese language. He just don’t know English that well.
Just when I thought Punk was maturing and started rooting for him, he goes and reaches deep to take a dump on someone`s dedication to what they do. Chris shouldnt take the MM and just let Punk sit in his salt. Playing Punk`s game is akin to feeding a troll.
It's being competitive. Punk do a little much at times but this a sport. Why would you not mm punk when it can boost your career and shut him down. If he beats him in a mm then punk gotta sit with that forever. Can't compare punk to a troll when he is one of the best.
Xiaohai popping off is well deserved cuz Punk went from 0-100 on him the last time for light-hearted smack talk. Punk needs to have respect for Xiaohai, who's an EVO champ, something Punk aspires to be.
Punk got top 3 at evo this year what did xia haio get also he got 3 rd at gamer8s 100 k . Let’s stop acting like we can compare careers who cares about kof lol that’s a dead fighting game
We witnessed the Importance of having a leader/Head in a group. Mena lead the team and they rose to the level because of him. Every other team was lackin in this. Papa Mena took the kids to the championship. Big ups and congradulations
It’s street fighter league not the NBA. You’re trying to go deeper than what it is. He was simply the best player in street fighter league and he was smart enough to know he needed to go third each week.
Facts! Mena was a great team leader and they had great synergy. Chris T was like the e-sports psychologist motivating everyone. Xiaohai has great respect for Mena. On a live stream he talked about his SFL experience, and said they trained all day. Xiaohai asked Mena, "why do you train so much? You are so talented" Mena said, "previously he used his talent and had fun, but talent can only get you so far. That hard work in the only thing that will take you to the top." Xiaohai was very impressed about Mena's hard work and professionalism. Just last week there was a small online tourney with Kakeru, NL, Chris Wong, Higuchi, Caba, Dispair King, Xiaohai, and Mena. Xiaohai called Mena captain. He's never called anyone captain. Respect!
Looks like the word "Never" can't be used in the same sentence when it comes to those 2 players facing each other... BUT you can use the word "Never" for Punk when it comes down to both of them participating at EVO 🤷🏾♂️💯⚔🥷💨🤫
Punk can't even win in his own game let alone another one. The community needs to stop hyping Punk as much as it does he's literally a loser being put in the same boat as the winners it makes zero sense

@@citypopradioFM emotional about the game or a game's tournament is understandable for someone who makes a living off competition within the scene. If you ever think he gets personal, ask yourself, is he criticizing their skill within game? Because that's usually the case.
To see Xiaohai pop-off like that, I'm glad to see him clutch it when it mattered most. Mena's read on that last sequence to close it out was also clutch.
Punk deserved it. He isn't the best and never was. The dude cracks so easy under pressure when things start to go bad. Not the first time he shits on someone and gets schooled after either lol. He's a great player but not consistent, is way over hyped, and has way too much of an ego he can't back up. Awesome for the team that won. They deserved it. Good stuff.
Punk getting humbled will always be entertaining to watch. He just brings it upon himself with his crazy childish antics lol Also, I swear Punk is still salty at Chris T for the whole cracked beta SF6 thing. They did NOT have beef prior to that. And saying all that garbage about not being relevant in Street Fighter history? Chris T was a straight up legend during the SF4 era. Notable wins over pretty much everyone back in those days. I would say I hope that he starts to mature but honestly, watching him get served humble pie from literally everyone he talks shit to will always be funny.
I think there is some miscommunication with the language barrier when Xiao Hai asked, "are you nervous?" the first time. He was genuinely just asking and making small talk. Punk misinterpreted it as trash talking and overreacted, which led to this whole back and forth. You can tell Xiao Hai doesn't even feel comfortable trash talking, as he quickly apologized and gave Punk praise after beating him. He just did it this time for the memes as retaliation for Punk's reaction last time.
@HokKan Xaio hai's tone definitely sounded like he was trying to trash talk for fun. Punk has had almost the sane reaction every single time on SFL. So I don't think it's an exaggeration. Its his shtick by now. Either way, I'm not a fan of speaking on someone else's behalf. I personally see 0 malice from either side.
@@theWIIISEguy yeah exactly the tone is for fun. I think it's because of the language barrier, he has a harder time fitting in and just talking with others in general. But Punk totally took it the wrong way lol.
@HokKan I disagree. I think Xaio Hai knew what he was doing and for Punk it was just another Tuesday. I'll leave it to them to tell the story. I'm not gonna speak for them..
Trash talk is fun but I feel Punk takes it a bit too far and personal which isn't helped by the fact that he has a storied history of choking when it counts. I'm a fan of him but he needs to slow his roll a bit; that or back it up more consistently lol.

i saw on Twitter. Basically Xiaohai added up a few thing in regard of SFL playoff on his Chinese SNS: 1. The pop off is a bit for Punk but mostly for himself since he finally scored a redeeming victory for Team Bandits and showing he still isn’t too old to be good at Street Fighters yet. 2. Despite the title he is still extremely disappointed with his own performances since he went negative. He sincerely thank Caba, Chris, and Mena, especially Mena, for making up his sloppy work, helping him out, and creating a miracle in SFL together. 3. This is a team match so he certainly doesn’t feel proud or accomplished especially when he’s run is negative. Nor that he believes he is better than Punk over a FT2. The trash talk is for a show, and it also serves as a purpose to push himself harder in the future, something Punk has been doing all the time. 4. There is still a SFL World Championship waiting for him soon. He has no time to rest or celebrate, get to train harder and live up the expectation of his teammates, team captain, and fans. And there are something unrelated to SFL, mostly about his livestreams so I don’t bother to translate. Basically just saying he had been hated since the “nervous” week being aired and he feels relieved that the hate train is finally become the past along with the playoff.
Xiao Hai pop off was the best moment in the night, I love Punk but I also love when he have to take back his words XD, Xiao Hai have this revenge coming for a LONG TIME this is way older than this league this is back to that season of Terror with Punk in season 2 of SFV and his Karin, Xiao Hai got beat hard every time by Punk, so this was a long time coming and couldn't happen in a BETTER TIME. Also my boy our champ our homie MENARD proving that he is the GOAT, the man is the definition of CLUTCH, is insane how well he always adapt and react, love it so much and so happy for the entire team of Bandits to take the crown at the end.
So happy Bandits won, been a big fan of Mena ever since he hit the scene. Also glad Xiaohai got his revenge, you love to see it. He told the truth too, Punk always comes in 2nd when it matters and turns into a crybaby. People need to see him for what he is and stop acting like he's the best when he clearly isn't.
The season was overall hyper than the others that I can remember. But these playoffs were extra hype especially that last team battle. Revenge was earned and some were vindicated. I hope the next phase is just as hype.
I love punk but I'm glad Xiaohai got the last laugh, punk took what Xiaohai said way too seriously and made a bigger issue out of what was meant to be a light hearted joke.
I wonder when Punk is going to grow up to be honest. You don’t have the excuse of being in your early 20s anymore my dude you’re almost 30. I’m all for trash talk but he crosses the line into immaturity constantly. I’m still a fan but I definitely don’t like him as a person 😅
