We need to talk about the interview Cutter Gauthier just gave, as we recap the NCAA Frozen Four tournament which saw Denver once again becme Men's Hockey champions. All that and more in today's hockey video!
Eck thought Gauthier said "There will be a lot of TEARS for the other team" when he really said "There will be a lot of CHEERS for the other team" Easy mistake to make, but it ends up in a confusing video with a clickbait title
Never understood the point of public trash talk before a game like that. If you win, no ones really going to care about what you said. But if you lose? You'll be shredded for it, and it won't be forgotten quickly.
What a shocker the guy who didn't have the decency to meet Briere, Sharp, Jones or give a reason as to why he wanted out said something egotistical & looks like a fool.
As a Flyers fan cutter has all the talent to be a stud. But there are some major red flags with his attitude/ego. He's not careful it could really hurt his pro career.
Cutter Gauthier is a narcissist. His treatment of Patrick Sharp, John Leclair, Keith Jones, & Danny Briere was not that of a man. It was that of a self-absorbed child who puts himself at the middle of everything. Playing in ANA is what he deserves.

I am not a fan of this kid The fact he just left Philly for the ducks seemingly for no reason and his ego is massive I understand it is important to be confident but he takes it to a different level completely.
Even if he did grow up a pens fan, tell us them you dont want to play for them before hand. When they do their interview with you. My problem isnt that he didnt wanna play for the flyers, its the gall, to come on stage and say i was born to be a flyer, and go on a podcast or two talking about your excitment, and then suddenly go silent. If you have a reason fine, but like... explain
@@Renegade322 He's cocky, but I'm not going to assume he's that much of weirdo. There could be more to the story about something within the organization or something. No one really knows. With a name like Cutter, you know his parents are hipsters, so maybe he _is_ that weird.
i’ve never seen more drama from a player who hasn’t even played a game in the nhl. he’s so cocky and ego driven and it’s not going to mold well into an nhl career. as a flyers fan i’m glad we traded him, as we wouldn’t have seen how much of a locker room cancer he is if he hadn’t done what he did.
@@hazzard123 Eck did actually Eck said he'd regret this interview, but it was milquetoast Eck thought Gauthier said "Tears" when he said "Cheers" Watch again
There will be interest but its a coin flip on whether he makes the show. Guys get hot at the right time but his numbers are meh for the league he's in. .914 sv over 30 games, its averagey
@@CrimsonicStorm Speaking of Leafs goalies who got hot for a spell: Justin Pogge, Garrett Sparks... Having said that, goalies can be very late bloomers. Thomas, Hasek, Kiprusoff...
@@ElConquistador7 Hello. I'm not a philly fan. I don't have any one favorite team since I live in Europe I follow multiple teams. My unbiased opinion is that gauthier is a diva who doesn't understand what being a professional means. Hope this helps with all the "X fans are crying".
@Omit1tulliportin a diva who lead the USA team to gold with the most points and leads the college league in points, who gets to pick where he wants to play, hope that clears things up for you little European. In USA we don't care about Europeans opinions either, that's why we left ✌️
@@ElConquistador7 I love how you're proving OP right. Also, NHL players do not get to choose where they play....that's a fallacy, but not surprising you think it. Cutter is a joke and deserves nothing. Hope is NHL career is short lived...and no, I'm not a Philly fan in case that's your go-to response when you feel attacked. Furthermore, OP talks about arrogance, you clearly thought that was a challenge, pathetic 'Murican. I'd laugh, but it's actually pretty sad....
@@ElConquistador7 Eric Lindros tried to pick where he played too. I have a signed Lindros biography book, signed hockey card, and two signed and framed Lindros photos. I love the Big E...But he was a diva who scored lots before the NHL and still, he should not have had the ability to choose where he plays. I think a lot of people respect a player who pays his dues in the NHL first.
As a Sharks fan I can't wait to to be all in on rooting for this team if Smith stays. Cutter is gunna have a huge ego check when he gets to the NHL and inevitably gets sent down. Also so much props to Davis. That was a crazy game from him
Cutter gauthier is one of the most immature prospect I’ve seen. To say that in the interview and then not back it up by putting up points in the game, he’s got to grow up.
Have a feeling it ain't the first time this kid's gonna get seriously humbled. May he learn from those moments, tone down on the arrogance in favor of putting in the work, he's got his whole pro-hockey career to build. Takes serious dedication, real work has just begun. It's bad enough he'll be so often reminded of that non-signing and subsequent trade he'd surely rather put behind him for good. So shush up kid, go prove 'em wrong.
I cannot wait for this guy to be humbled coming into the big leagues. Philly is gonna have it out for him, especially if tortz is the coach still i guarantee he gets drysdale to lay him out 😭
As a UMass student getting blown out 8-1 by BC in the hockey East tournament but actually played a closer game with Denver than even BC… this does puts a smile on my face…
I was going to watch this game after being out all day before clicking the wrong ESPN plus link and getting the Denver celebration. I did watch the highlights though.
I feel so bad for Ryno and Smitty my brother played with them on turny teams and against them in club it’s been so cool watching them as I’ve know them. I wish my brother got drafted with them but he didn’t. Denver played well but they were cheap. Younger Biuim going top 8.
It was a great game. BC played so damn hard in the 3rd but got nothing to show for it. And yes, how is that DU goalie undrafted?!! Whole tourney was amazing but that one save was incredible.
Pump the brakes, he had an awesome run but be cautious. There was another ncaa goalie dryden McKay who won the hobby baker and had all the awards and he's barely an ahl goalie.
@@brandonhall9959 i was mostly joking. the avs problems start with their team defense before it falls to the goalie. look at yesterdays game. 2 back door passes undefended and then the 4th goal toews didn't even try to clear the man or the rebound..
Shoulda just said "im here to play hockey" Drama comments always kick you in the ass. Good luck Gauthier. Davis was off the chain good. Just a different mindset. The goal post helped a couple times, but man he was on that game.
Am I the only one who heard him say there would be a lot of "Cheers" not "Tears"? This seems to make a lot more sense since the game was geographically closer to Denver.
Man,what a Ego,and so he did not want to play for torts,I think a lot of players don’t like his style, but they suck it up,take the million dollars, and play, that’s what men do!To many whiners, and no Cheese!
as a duck fan all im worried about with personalitys like this is if he is gonna get along with the other ducks there. If all goes well it could be magic for the ducks and also none of us really knows him so we should be carefull judging to much
Gauthier is not a likable guy at all. it's pretty wild. his game better add up to his mouth and attitude. I know he had a good year in college, but his team is loaded
Who cares, it's over and in the past. He's a professional hockey player now and Ducks/Ducks fans are ecstatic to have him. I love his fire and passion. He will fit right in with the younf bunch in Anaheim.
Future still looks pretty bright in Anaheim. Zegras, McTavish, Carlsson, Mintuykov, Zellweger, and now Gauthier. With the right coaching, that team will be dangerous in the future.
@@The_G_89 Lots of people said future looked bright in Ottawa back in 2019-2020. It's not just about having lots of promising young players, you need to surround them with great players.
Everyone loses here except for Eck Eck makes it looks like Gauthier said 'TEARS' when he said 'CHEERS' and makes more haters of an already hated person, gets a ton of views and therefore ad revenue, and is therefore profiting off of a smear of a player who was acting respectfully And I highly doubt we'll get an apology or correction from Eck to show for it- everyone loses here except for Eck
