Basically wifi connection is pretty trash for fighting games overall ( with some exceptions ). So in tournament is standard for both of the players to have an ethernet connection

The rules for the bracket pretty clearly indicate you can get DQ'd if it's found out you're on wifi, but it's also up to the TO's and the offended player what's done about it.

@@moalze The consensus among the FGC is that wifi isn't nearly as reliable to play on as a wired ethernet connection. Wireless invites a lot of potential issues like something as simple as someone turning on a microwave and interfering with the signal

@@moalzeWifi is less consistent (and in many cases just straight-up worse) than a wired connection, which is especially important in SG where a few frames can mean losing half your lifebar
