I really like the idea of Flubs, but the most effective way to play him being a landfall mega-value deck is so disappointing. Green ruining things, like usual.
As a new player, I'm not sure if this deck is strong or it just wears out the opponent so they concede because they're tired of waiting 5-10 min per turn 🤣🤣
Well, would you look at that. I fell in love with Flubs when it got first teased, and yesterday I was looking at possible ideas for it... And color me surprised, today LVD comes to give me even more suggestions!
I find this deck very similar to Loot. Which I played and found it very fun. But I had to add River rebuke and Cyclonic Rift for those endless matches where both players go off. I guess it will be similar to this one.
I think phial of galadriel is kind of a nombo with flub.Imagine u cast play your last card then draw 2 .If u play one of them, u must discard the other one and now u have nothing to continue.I guess it's fine in the landfall approach, but for comboing it is pretty bad
It can be awkward at times, but we still get to cast the best of our two cards. We're also likely to have additional cards in exile or lands in graveyard we can still play to keep the cards flowing afterwards.
Notification squad. FLUBS IS CRAZY. One of my fav brawl decks. LVD I think if you want to crank this deck up a little you’d be better served by taking out cards like faithless looting, crucible/conduit of worlds, six and uro leaning more into foretell/adventure cards and also more zero mana value cards.
@@theaeskey2502 Not the first time you post something (making a Flub out of yourself) requiring LVD to comment. At this point, not sure why he bothers to correct your constant annoyances.
@@Aiko-f8q it’s only been two times and I didn’t force him to respond to me, he chose to so I hardly see how your problem with me which I don’t fully understand is any of my concern. 🤷♀️ I’m not responding to you after this but you have this weird obsession with me that you might want to take a look at. It’s frankly disgusting, disturbing and weird. You need serious help. Go get it, leave me alone and I hope you hop offline and touch grass. You might have a better day if you logged off and took a breath of fresh air you sad weirdo.
This is a really interesting contrast to the version CGB made, which was much more focused on getting to a turbo flubs turn - would NOT have run cards like tatyova and phial of galadrial.
Phial, Tatyova, and even Song of Creation are nombos for Flubs. You do not want to be drawing cards with anything but Flubs if at all possible. Keep that hand at 1.
@@dinklebob1 Yeah obviously they don't work well with the commander in play - but if your deck ONLY works with the commander, it tends to be very brittle. As we saw in the first game, this build can very much win games using classic landfall nonsense no flubs required - and the removal and counterspell resources needed to prevent that are the same ones you would use to prevent flubs going to the moon.
I agree with Phial and Tatyova but song of creation is important because it makes you discard your hand at end of turn. Normally if you would end a turn with 1 card in hand, your next draw step will leave you with 2 cards in hand, which stops you from going off. If you stack the triggers right you also get to see a lot more of your deck.
@@sambarney8244 Ah that's true. But doesn't that just mean you have one big pop then a flurry of discards? I suppose it's like banking all those discards you were going to make anyway.
@@dinklebob1 If you order the triggers with song of creation first, you essentially turn flubs 'draw 1' into 'surveil 2 then draw 1.' If your order the triggers with flubs first, you draw 3, then on each subsequent cast you draw 2 discard 1 - meaning you have 3 cards in hand to choose from for each cast instead of 1. Both options significantly increase your control of the combo and the speed at which you can draw through your deck. Also, notice that song of creation WITHOUT flubs is basically just a better flubs - no need to worry about emptying your hand, and since the number of spells in your deck is more than the number of lands, you'll draw more cards in most cases.
I loved this one. I have been scared of using flubs because I don't understand temur and hate losing cards, but this was fun to watch. Too bad your opponents are all sore losers.
Tatyova is probably worth it, but I always ran into the awkward situation where I would draw a card from tatyova, then not having an empty hand and having to discard. Not a problem if you stack your triggers manually but that's such a pain.
There will be times when you end up with too many cards in hand, but if land is your only card then you can indeed reorder the triggers to use Flubs first (you're now empty handed) and draw with Tatyova afterwards.
Isn't phial of galadriel a nombo with flubs? If you have flubs and phial on board you play your last card, draw two cards instead of one. Now you play one of those cards and have to discard the other, leaving your hand empty with nothing to play
Since every player abandoned the game It seems to me that the real wincons in this deck are boreness :) and scute swarm (sometimes), or bill. But apart the last two example don't you think the deck lacks a stronger wincon?
I mean, a lot of people play Brawl just to have fun. And I can see how watching your opponent doing a prolongued landfall turn can get boring really fast, even if it is winnable.
Don't think it quite fits. A sweeper is good later in the game once the board is more established. If we want to enable Flubs with it, we would have to cast it early. We could play more 0-mana cards if we want to enable Flubs sooner, but that makes the deck rely on it more than needed. There are enough high quality cards that still synergize well with our plan.
