Tonon is still near the top and always will be at BJJ, he is a legend. Tonon just didnt take it seriously enough, which was pretty obvious. I think it would be interesting to see them fight again.

Tonon was subbed via Tye’s famous signature move - no shame in that, especially considering that Gary actually had his hand inside the choke, but Tye’s hands are just incredibly long and he locked them anyway. Some of you act as if it makes Garry a shitty grappler. Yeah, right…

right at 8:48 he should have stood back up, instead he tried to pull guard but never had him in front of his knees to establish a solid guard. Ended up in north south and was immediately in a darce which he's known for . Pulling guard pins you to the floor, craig jones is right you can beat most dangerous situations in jiu jitsu by choosing to stand up instead of pulling guard.

i have no idea why gary would be a legend. He has done some incredible matches, won some, lost other, great grappler overall and very cool to watch, but so are many other talented grapplers. No title in his career qualifies him as legend,

Definitely not. Gary has been focused on mma the last 6-7 years and hasn’t focused as hard on pure sport grappling lately so this isn’t too much of a shock. Also, Gary overrated? Seriously? Dude is an absolute legend in sub grappling
