How heartbreaking!! After the cat incident I wouldn't have gotten married. My heart goes out to her family, to know that it was her husband who took her life and not know where her body is, I can only imagine how hard that is to deal with.

I had to laugh when you were talking about addresses in America! Manhattan may have crazy addresses, however most addresses are just like yours. I would lose my mind if someone gave me an address like that too. Anyway you are one of my favorite true crime ladies! I am shocked that you don't have more subscribers.

Great job as always Zara! There is an excellent podcast on this case called The Girlfriends by Carole Fisher. It starts off by a group of women bonding over a terrible (and abusive) ex they had. They discover that the ex had a wife that went missing under suspicious circumstances. The podcast includes interviews with ex’s, police detectives on the case as well as the sister of Gail. Super interesting and had me hooked!
I can not believe that all the psychiatrists wrote those letters and he was still able to practice . Although it was the 70s and 80s everything was a lot different back then. But I think he should have been caught a lot sooner. This whole story is just sad. I hope her family can finally get some peace.
I did marry a surgeon and he was perfect when we met and we had a beautiful wedding in Paris… then right away the switch flipped, first it was what I wore, then my hair, plastic surgery, it took the work of an incredibly brave therapist and attorney to get me out safely… but yes if the signs are there the red flags are EVERYWHERE don’t ignore them they only get worse. These sociopaths can’t be “fixed” and No amount of money or privilege can bring someone back… as for her body and soul… I think her soul lives on somewhere BEAUTIFUL ❤

I'm not excusing his behavior or what he did but we can't keep excusing women cheating because they were not being treated the way they wanted. We need to hold everyone accountable. Your makeup is bomb! Interesting case, never heard about it before. I was surprised that he was found guilty, and even more surprised that he confessed later on. I don't personally believe in souls, and if I did I don't think the soul is connected to our bodies. But I still understand where you're coming from, it's sad and macabre that her body is lost.
That's New York addresses. I watched the video that one of the big networks did on this case (I think it was 60 mins) and a lot wasn't said about Gail.
Addresses that you are referring to are pretty much in New York, or maybe other major cities. It’s just 1285 Smith Street just like it sounds you are used to.

Hi Zara. Thanks for sharing this story,I have not heard of it before. I think someones spirit can hang around if they feel betrayed by death, need vengeance or unfinished Business, I guess. That would be your ghost.But as someone who had a near death experience, this bag of flesh didn't mean anything to me as I hovered above my body. But I got pushed back in, my time wasn't done, because the next day I found out that I was pregnant. So, I guess it's if you choose to move on to reincarnate or whatever is in the light.

I believe our bodies are just vessels, as soon as we die our souls leave our bodies right then and there so Gail is ok where ever she is, i'm sure she is on the other side waiting for her loved ones to join her. I dont want to seem insensitive but her 'vessel' has been consumed by the ocean and its inhabitance. This man should of got longer then 20 years though, as far as i'm concerned he should be in prison his whole life, he was not some 'crazy' person he was a surgeon he is suppose to be one of the good guys!
Zara there are actually some addresses in America that end in 1/2! Lol. Like 122 1/2 Edward St. It usually happens when someone adds another dwelling to a piece of property with a prior address. They just add a half to the present address. Lol

So, you gather several pieces of evidence proving that your husband is a sociopath and you decide to confront said sociopath rather than get as far away from him as possible? She did a lot of things right up until that point. Psychiatrists tried to warn her, she got a loan, got involved into a new relationship etc. but still thought telling him face to face that she was planning to divorce him was a good idea. Ladies, if you’re planning to leave an unstable person, NEVER tell them or be anywhere near them.

Just stayed in her apartment 24/7 her husband had to do everything she was able to do but juat refused to do it plus mind you he worked full shifts and over time.. welllll guess whattt he suddenly just died in October from 2 brain anurorisms ( how ever u spell it) now she dont have shyt..she has no money.. nothing.. she is screweddddd.. all because she decided to live like a rich queen.. i told her years ago to get a job and she just refused too.. now shes kickin herself in her own azz.... just like with this lady why did she think she could sit comfortable on her husbands income in this horrible abusive relationship... Usually you are compassionate and respectful, however I am very saddened by the way you and people commenting on here seem to be victim blaming. Please do not characterise the victim as a leech using Bob for his money. Things were very different in that time period. There was a lot of pressure on women and we couldn’t possibly imagine what she was going through. I think this is what some of Bob’s defence lawyers were saying about her to make it look like he wasn’t a complete monster. It’s cruel and mean to talk about her as a frivolous and shallow woman who essentially deserved what happened to her. Her sister speaks of her very differently on the podcast.
