Today is the anniversary of the worst night of my life. 3 years ago today i woke up in a hospital bed with permanent organ damage as the result of the terrible and life changing decision to attempt to take my own life for the last time. These past years have been a real battle with my anxiety, depression, and bpd. I only came across your channel about 6 months ago, but your voice and content have really been a healthy outlet for me. Tonight i was planning on getting all sorts of effed up because of a lot of unpleasant flashbacks but i made the choice to turn on your videos instead. Thanks joel.
I hope you are doing OK. I know what it is like to make that decision and the irreversible damage it can do. I'm glad you're here and you should be proud of yourself for chosing a better coping mechanism. You got this Olive. You're valued and loved, life can be cruel at times but you're stronger for it and you've got this. Sending positive vibes xx
I was just wondering, is life this brutal for everyone? Or do some people wake up genuinely happy? Anyways its nice to at least not be alone. I struggle too.
Always stoked to drive to my girlfriends on Wednesdays at the same time Joel releases a new video! The Pennsylvania video was awesome being that I’m from Philadelphia, and thank you to everyone in the comment section for the support and congratulations on my 14 months of sobriety last video!
To the lady that had the elderly man with dementia knocking on her door; you did do the right thing. How were you to know it wasn’t someone up to no good? His sickness is sad, but, at the very least his family now knows how bad his dementia is becoming and they can keep a closer eye on him. You shouldn’t feel any guilt or regret.
You always make my chores at night after the kids are in bed so much better, definitely little things that makes being a single mom a tad easier! Thank you 😊
I don’t know how long you’ve been doing this but I know it’s years! My oldest kid is coming 6 and even before I had her I’ve been listening to you every night, can’t sleep without your voice as weird as that is 😂 your voice is my safety blanket
Let's Read is my go to as well. I rely on his videos and voice and of course the after effects sound effects not to mention the ambient sounds in videos. A+++
As someone that works for a property management company, we would NEVER come to a residents house at 2AM unless it was a maintenance emergency call that the tenant initiated. During normal business hours, yes maintenance will knock first and if no answer they will let themselves in but they still announce themselves upon entry…Sounds to me like they really did avoid something awful. 😰
Personally as a mom to hella kids, I don’t give any one any info about my kids. I don’t even really post them on social media anymore... I straight up tell people, “I’m not comfortable answering that.” Sometimes people are kind of taken back by that answer but I could care less if you get offended. I will protect my children at all cost and by any means necessary. 🐻 👹
You are smart and an awesome mother. I had a friend abducted as a child. Tortured by multiple men. This stuff is real and i am not sure i can even watch this one. Evil is among us. Be safe out there ❤
My son is 3 and has ASD and he loves listening to your stories to fall asleep. Must be the baritone in your voice but it soothes him. Thank you for your content sir🙏🏼
I'm 48 years old and I love Let's Read and his voice relaxes me and puts me to sleep very calm. Next day at work I listen to the stories again and it helps me get to my work day. Amazing how a voice can get you to your day in a relaxed way. A+++
My little girl is 3 and has ASD and she listens with me to go to sleep too. I’ve been a long time listener and when she was born I thought oh I can’t listen anymore I should play lullabies or white noise but she never settled to anything as easily as she settles to Joel’s voice ☺️ I don’t know what I’ll do when she starts to comprehend the stories she won’t be able to listen anymore I’ll be lost! Haha
My middle son has ASD & will come in my room & listen to the ghost stories. They calm him & don’t scare him - he hasn’t had any “experiences” - unlike myself & oldest son. I lived in a haunted house for 21yrs. I have stories for days.
Me too. I've become so dependent on this channel as I listen to this everyday at work with my AirPods and at lunch, when I'm at home cooking and playing with the dogs. It totally helps me with my day and relaxes me. My wife and I go to sleep listening to Let's Read as well until he puts us grown adults to sleep like kids. lol Love this! A+++
Give yourself a pat on the back.... My fella now makes me listen to your stuff without my headphones, so he can hear the stories too! (He used to think I was weird, shutting myself off and immersing myself into let's read)... Yep, your officially contagious! Much love 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I was waiting for him to say the handle had blood on it or was like wrapped with something so he didn’t leave fingerprints on it or something but he just freaked out because the guy had a knife lol I used to gut my blunts with a knife all the time and I always have at least 2 knives on me at all times so yea the guy definitely overreacted… or maybe I’m a serial killer and I don’t know it
@@shawnbbunbbbybbb3942bro same I just stopped smoking this year sadly after just learning how to roll a blunt, used to do the same thing I was like?? What was wrong with the knife
Thx Joel, listened to the rest of your stream during work today. Good thing I work alone since I seem to chuckle a lot while I’m listening.. 🙃 As always, sweet dreams everyone, love this community/cult heaps. 🧸♥️💋🦅🌕
Hii I just want to say I love your videos so much they help my mental health out so so much, your voice is kind and caring and it helps me calm down, thank you.
The weed story is super funny. Some people have short nails and have trouble splitting a cigarillo, so they use a knife. I have shitty nails so I do the same thing. It's sounds like you kicked it with a stoner with bad nails, a love of old music, and a weird living situation. Honestly, if I didn't know any better I would think you're describing me. The plastic is suspicious but the fact that he pulled the knife at the same time as the cigarillo really makes it seem like that's not the case. I'm sitting here wondering how many people have thought that I'm a murderer now. So funny. 10/10. Dude tries to smoke you up and thats what happens lmao
I feel the story on the scizophrenic man is more a tragedy than a horror. Shines a light on how misunderstood the illness is and the stigma society pedals about those with the illness. The unfortunate reality of scizophrenia is many many people with the disorder do not get the treatment they need, and are treated poorley. Almost all scizophrenic patients are none violent, and in the majority of cases the illness is episodic. Hence why the man did not realize what the person in the story was referring to when confronted while not in an episode. I heavily reccomend everyone do some research to help educate yourself and fight the stigma on this torture of an illness these people are suffering through. My thoughts and empathy go to everyone with the condition.
To be clear I love let's read and I am not criticizing him at all for choosing the story, and not criticizing the person who wrote the story. I do however want toe help raise awarness so people in the future can be more understanding and not be afraid or look down on those who are unfortunately ill.
I love comments like this! My Dad was Schizophrenic and he was one of the nicest most hard working people I have ever met. He succumbed to schizophrenia when I was 13, and I miss him everyday.
@Hyperskreem 82Thank you, I was going to say. You can’t truly know when it is a chemical imbalance that is unpredictable until everything is balanced out.
Don’t feel bad for calling the cops on someone who was trying to break into your house. Even if they did have dementia. How were you supposed to know that? Also, don’t think just because they’re elderly that they can’t hurt you. I used to work in memory care and I’ve seen how violent these people can get in their confused state. If you’re not trained on how to handle that, they WILL hurt you if you get to close.
Colfax is an interesting area, man. I got the opportunity to visit Colorado when my brother lived in Denver. It was a totally different environment than I'd ever experienced before.
I’m jealous of the people that have just found you and/or those that haven’t found you yet, but will. They will hear all your stories for the first time. Now that’s nirvana.
I love mr nightmare but I always listen to you more often because your videos are long and they don’t have as many ads it’s hard when I’m falling asleep hearing 50 ads after every story so I thank you!!!!! Love your readings.
Also, this video couldn't have come at a better time! Received some bad news today and feeling generally melancholy, but cozying up in bed to this will make it all seem a little better.
I swear the title of this vid made me think what if each of these stories were the plot or events of a scary movie or TV series. Thanks for the vid Lets Read :)
The flight attendance handled a potential dangerous situation better than any cop of these stories. I know most or some cops will do their job but some don't even bother.
I love listening to your stories and find your voice so soothing. But that sound that plays after every story ends... It just startles me when I'm already asleep 😓
Whenever I hear the upload, it’s like I’m hearing the stories for the first time because I’m so focused on conversation during the stream. :) Love the community and the videos! You’re doing great, Joel!
love your content man! also note on your previous post regarding your crazed fan, hope it hasn’t rattled you too much and you know your loved and supported (which i’m sure you know and your well) anyway much love mate. stay safe
I'm listening to this and i just want to say I've heard all these stories before on one of your videos. No worries it's ok i just wanted to let you know. Still good stories though ty Let's Read😀
Love the video ready ❤️❤️ edit; who tf steals a kid from their own parents and in front of them 2? And to the lady who had the dementia guy knocking on her door, u did the right thing. At least his family knows what is going on
I'm sorry, but the fact that the one author felt the need to describe their completely unrelated dream about getting Best Buy underwear is so funny. Great work as always Let's Read!!
🖖 The story about the girl's parents being alcoholics and someone's foot in the window was a long drawn out story about nothing lol. So much unnecessary info for such an underwhelming ending 🤔
The story that had the man with dementia. OP did what they could at the moment. If someone appears to be in trouble or injured but you are terrified of letting them in because you are alone and vulnerable, call the police. If they are in trouble they will stay until the police get there.
"yo mama" is a correct response to most of that nonsense. He knew he had too much leeway when not only did she keep talking to him, but actually volunteered information about her sex life.
