Welp the anime is basically a lie because the protagonist is literally doing the opposite of what an exorcist does, like summoning monsters, an exorcist doesn’t do that
What he is technically is a Onmyōji which is a type of eastern exorcist, heavily influenced by Taoism. The practitioners of the arts use talisman to bind and or seal troublesome Yokai. The monsters he’s “summoning” are really just the ones he sealed and made into his familiars. They don’t obey & behave they go back into box and stay there so to speak.
