It is a good thing to see the neighbors offer refreshment and express gratitude. If you've ever done heavy work all day under hot sun, such kindness is appreciated. Some neighbors prefer to complain about the noise, the clouds of dirt, and strangers working in the area even while they are glad to see the property cleaned up.

The yard appears to have an infestation of ruelia or purple petunia. They're native to Mexico and Texas region but found as far north as Arkansas etc. I actually love this plant but it does tend to spread out wherever it can send roots and it can send the shoots up to 10 feet away from a main plant. I can tell by the flowers and purple stems, the whole yard is fulk of them. They love to drink water and absorb as much sun as possible and in ideal conditions they can grow about 5 feet tall in a large sphere shape but if they spread they'll fill in any space. I love them for this because they make a great hedge and the hummingbirds love them. But it does take some maintenance keeping them right where you like them and not spreading past their borders. I battle them a little every mow. Still a wonderful plant but just thought I'd mention it since his are way out of control. Their root system must be incredible. He's going to need to remove the top 3 or 4 inches of soil to ever get a lawn back and be rid of them.

I have seen in my lifetime that Mexicans, are the hardest working people. I sold a washing machine to two white men from the race track. I heard them say. "Let's get Jose." They came back with Jose, to load the machine while these two just stared. Hope you're doing great, Jose.
