Dark Matter stars Melissa O 'Neil as Lucy Chen, a rookie Los Angeles police officer who will develop a relationship with John.
Afton Williamson as Talia Bishop, who has just been promoted to training officer, The first person assigned to her training is rookie John, Eric Winter as the aggressive training officer Tim Bradford, and Richard T. Jones as Chief Wade Grey, who as a police officer in charge of the department becomes a bitter enemy of John.
