Li Yu is the most noble character in this drama. Even though he loves her, he doesn’t harbor any bad intentions and is truly happy to see Suo Xin marry the man she wants and gives his blessing from his heart. I would love to be able to find a man like Li Yu.

In the end of the novel, Li Yu and physician Jiang worked together and ignored the Emperor's wish to give Imperial Noble Consort Ling a quiet death by modified the ingredients in the poison he forced her to drink, making her to suffer unspeakable pain for hours before dying. He even want to look how she's suffering. I think that Li Yu also hold respects for Ruyi like Suoxin does.

Wonderful acting from the actress portraying Ruyi. Although happy for her maid, you could see her heart breaking to send her closest friend, confidant and ally away. She paused before putting on her veil, "giving" her away.

Suoxin's love story is way more better than the lead. But on the other hand, I am deeply sad for Li Yu. He loves her too. And he is pure too. My heart cries for him; but... She also married a good man. So I think it's okay.

The main lead's story is about the disintegration of what was once a pure mutual love between two childhood sweetheart which will later on slowly descend into an abusive relationship so that's expected

Li YU knows he can’t give her a child and he knows she wants that. It was a heartbreaking scene to watch him realize this, but he knows the phycisian can. She will also now be outside the palace and safe from intrige. In addition she does actually love Jubin.

Li yu is such a great guy with a big heart, throughout this drama u can see how he supported ruyi too albeit in a subtle manner which is understandable because being the emperor eunuch he needs to be extremely careful. He truly cares for suoxin

Yes, and they were not competing against each other either. Whenever one needed the other's help, he had it. They both loved Suoxin, but in such a way that they wanted her to live happily and choose without pressure. And they continued being friends with no hard feelings. Love triangles are usually so toxic but there's none of that here

I believe at one time they were and dynastiets of eunuchs and their adoptivbarn children were like a thing they gained a lot of power this way, and I think it was dismanteled at one point. I just don’t know about this spesiffic periode the drama is set in.

Didn’t you see earlier episodes where the evil eunuch married the poor maid and tortured her but anyway I guess they could marry even if they couldn’t create heirs.
