So it may very well be grandfather or great grand father/uncle/some nonsense. The wiki prolly has the best speculated relation tho.... But again. It's kinda hard to tell which wiki is Canon and which is referencing a fan Canon story. Apperantly... So many wasted hours reading about a set of frieza race individuals that don't actually exist. Yup, and he’s the one that passes down the legend of a powerful golden haired Warrior on planet Vegeta. That plays a part in the why Frieza blows up the whole planet, but we don’t find out about that till much much later.
14:38 "You're like a brilliant scientist!" This is a reference to the dub, where Vegeta calls Goku's dad a scientist. The reason for this is because they wanted to make Goku more like Superman, who's father was a krytonian scientist.
English dub is shit not gonna lie. After watching the German dub, i was shocked to see everything i knew about DBZ was basically fake. (I was learning german and my friend recommended it to me saying its great as a dub which is true imo) They really thought like "Americans wouldnt understand it" and made it worse, like thats so annoying to put your audience in a stupid spot.
You on pills bruh? 😅 The dub called him scientist for a fact that Bardock is a Saiyan, who come up with a prodigy of making Energy as a source of moon 🎑, to become Giant apes while conquering planets for Frieza! Saiyans were limited only to planets where Moon was available for transformation, but bardock invention changed it. Same way Vegeta become ape using energy as a Substitute for Moon so man get yourself updated😭

There is a certain amount of irony to Kyle telling Kirby that Chill is Freeza's father while King Cold is on one of the thumbnails currently on the screen.
No Kyle, Chill is not Frieza's father, Lord Cold is is Frieza's father, Chill is an ancestor to the Frost Demon, although I don't remember there being info about him being part of Frieza's family, just its race.

Lani (Nick) does the voices for the little Saiyans. He did the Kermit voice and just kinda went with it. The team also just decided to name them after rappers because that first one was a doctor. Doctor-Doctor Dre-they are all rappers now Edit: Some lines for "Tupac" were actually covered by Kaiser if Lani wasn't available
You know, even if Bardock went super sayin against Frieza, he still wouldn't have had to leave his first form to beat him. Since super sayin multiplys the base by 50 and Bardock was 10,000 it would only raise him to 500,000. Still weaker than first form Frieza.
This special is not canon, had no involvement from Toriyama, and a plot so bullshit that it caused Bardock to go Super Saiyan. No, literally, that's the joke (11:12).
Just going to codify 'doing a Bardock' as being so angry at an innately stupid situation that you become able to solve it. Also, the song playing when Chilled is getting his ass broken isn't Ride of the Valkyries, it's part of Mozart's Ode to Joy.
Please remember that the movies are pretty much not canon for the series. Abridged messes with the canon history of the Saiyans. Apologizes for the long comment, I just want to clarify for you guys what I remember being canon. If I remember correctly, this special (supposedly) takes place about 1000+ years before the events of Dragon Ball. The year "0" hasn't happened yet, since the original Dragon Ball starts in the year 749. Thus the "BC or AD" question and Chilled being confused, and Vegeta saying 1000 years since the last Super Saiyan. In between the special and Dragon Ball, the Saiyan's original planet "Sadala" was ravaged by fighting. So the Saiyan's took over planet "Plant" and it was renamed to "Vegeta".
I'm pretty sure all of teamfourstar hated this movie. It ruins his character and it a stupid premise entirely. That is why the plot itself was so dumb it forced him into a super saiyan. Also did you both not watch Bardock: Father of Goku? I'm starting to wonder if you aren't so much of "I never heard of it" as you are "I don't remember it"
Chilled is frieza’s ancestor from 1000 years ago. Bardock was sent 1000 years into the past. When vegeta talks about the legendary super saiyan only showing up once every thousand years, he’s talking about bardock

No Kyle... Chilled is not Freeza's father. He's his ancestor. When Bardock asked Chilled what year it was, and then BC or AD, and Chilled had no idea what those were, it was implying BC. As in, *thousands* of years in the past. The point of this special was to show why Freeza's race feared the legend of the super saiyan. And it's because they had their own legend passed down warning them about it, due to what happened to Chilled.
Am I forgetting something? Why is world strongest after episode 34 in the playlist? I don't remember anything spoilery happening in the movie, but I guess it's been a bit since I watched it.
@@clarissaterry6507 I figured the playlist they were using was just generally logical, since it had Deadzone -> 31 -> Kai 2.9. And Kai 2.9 is obviously way later. Could be because of release though.

o i just realized year 2222. and he is like bc or ad? before chilled. i guess. no idea what AD would mean. uhm the planet is called PLANT the people are called SAIYAN which is scrambled YASAI which means vegetable. and yes he went back in time. to where chilled. a frieza race killed the vegetable race. and left it alone to house those savages on we now know as saiyans. which later frieza came back for as he heard about a myth of a legendary super saiyan. who could mean they would replace frieza... spoilers ahead because beerus employed the frieza race to clean up planets. so he would not have to do his job. as the god of destruction.

So I have a request that for episode 32 at least you don't allow Kirby to watch the opening intro. It shows a LOT. Like a crazy amount and lingers enough for her to be spoiled from it. After that it should be ok, but 32s intro is really spoiler heavy.
The joke at the end about Bardock being a brilliant scientist is a reference to the original english dub. Localizers thought we wouldn't like Goku's selfishness so the dub changed a lot of lines to make it sound more like Goku was Superman. Thus they added in this weird bit about Goku's father Bardock being a scientist, which he definitely is not. That's also the reason for Goku's "I am the hope of the universe" speech, which this show parodies. There are a lot of jokes about the goofy dubbing
Bardock was the legendary super saiyan, just like Goku was the legendary super saiyan. It's almost like it's in the blood. Like it's, what's that word..... genetic
If that's truly what the original Saiyans looked and sounded like, then I can understand the reasoning behind Frieza killing them. At this point I'm patiently waiting for Ep. 46,7,8, 52 and the big six-zero. Let's go!
for those who don't know, the REAL thing that chilled said before dying, was that they should look out for the legendary super saiyan, which starts the eventual subjugation and annihilations of the saiyan race, but this movie, like most of dbz movie line up, is not canon to the series
