Activation of the Numidium always causes a Dragon Break , technicly speaking Summer Set Isles is still under seige by Tiber Septim in some branches even tho it already happened and timelines marged into one at a much earlier point
@samiamtheman7379
@samiamtheman7379 8 месяцев назад
Speaking of the Numidium, Talos the divine was never mentioned until Morrowind, which occurs after it was activated in Daggerfall. This would imply that up until that point, Talos the divine never existed, but then always existed. Talos was the cause of and a result of the Dragonbreak.
@erris5744
@erris5744 6 месяцев назад
That isn't how Dragon Breaks work. A Dragon Break is where the timeline splits apart, and then those branching timelines merge back together with all contradictions existing at once. An example is Mannimarco - during the Warp in the West, he ascended to godhood in one timeline and did not in another, so when the Dragon Break ended, there were two Mannimarcos - King of the Worms, as seen in Oblivion, and the Necromancer Moon that creates Black Soul Gems.
@Mare_Man
@Mare_Man 6 месяцев назад
@erris5744 Except by the time of the Warp Mannimarco had already been a nigh-unstoppable lich for quite some time, while the weakling "Mannimarco" in Oblivion isn't even undead. Not all Dragon Breaks are like the Warp in the West. The Middle Dawn, the Red Moment, the activation of Numidium near Rimmen; they're all different from each other, linked only by their space/time-distorting nature.

Interesting thing about Tiber Septim becoming the god Talos is that was never a thing until after Daggerfall (First being mentioned as a god in Morrowind specifically) where a Dragonbreak happens. Given the nature of Dragonbreaks, it's possible that up to that point, Talos the divine never existed, only to then always have existed thanks to the second Dragonbreak. Basically, Talos was the cause of and a result of the Dragonbreak.

This is also when Mannimarco ascended to divinity, marking the second or third time the elves managed it before mankind (not counting the Tribunal and Dagoth-Ur)
@InquisitorXarius

@@Mare_ManYes but also no, Mannimarco the First and the Harbinger achieved Deityhood after about a thousand years of preparation and to become a seldom worshipped deity no less only worshipped or mentioned by Necromancers who seek patrons who do not seek to defile them at their bloodied altar of domination. Talos the Deity created by that very dragonbreak was created from the Underking, Zurin Arctus, Lysandus, of Daggerfall but primarily and in dominance overrall is Hjalti Early Beard a Half-Breton Half-Nord who later changed their name to Talos Stormcrown then later on to Tiber Septim. Because of the Dragonbreak Talos Deityhood became True in the Present, Past, and Future. Also I don’t know of any Elves asides from Mannimarco who ascended to being True deities, the Tribrunal do not count as the Nature of their powers was that they stole power from Lorkhan’s heart as well as having to leach off of the aspects of the Daedric Tribrunal which only two of them succeeded (Vivec and Sotha Sil) Almalexia never successfully leached off of Azura, Dagoth Ur did the same via leaching off of the heart of Lorkhan and attempting some long winded form of Amaranth.

Tíber séptim is honestly such a great character. And honestly altough most of his actions are questionable (like what he did to barenziah or when he decided to hiroshimad the sumérset islands) But most pf his actions are what real life emperors would have done. I love that about him....

One thing to say about the war between the Empire and Morrowind, it’s important to keep in mind the Tribunal are Living Gods. Like, Vivec can snap their fingers and freeze a meteor in mid-air so people can use it as a prison. I think that Talos going for a conditional surrender makes perfect sense and Ysmir just sounds like a warmonger pissy he didn’t get to continue the war rather than simply caring about growing the Empire
@rzero1262
@rzero1262 8 месяцев назад
It's more complicated than that because Dagoth Ur reawakened in 2E882 (around 14 years before Morrowind surrendered to Tiber), depriving the Tribunal from accessing the source of their powers ever since. So by the time Tiber came, the Tribunal were already on a borrowed time and exhausting their powers in a battle against the Empire would mean they'd just fall to Dagoth Ur sooner rather than later. So yeah, I would assume the Empire actually could get away with more than what they got out of the Armistice, if not for Vivec weaseling them out of that predicament.
@Mobysimo

@@rzero1262 True, but Tiber and Ysmir had no way to know about that. The Heart's existance and abilities wasnt something the Tribunal shared with everyone

@@Mobysimo I guess one could argue that, being a Shezarrine himself, Ysmir Wulfharth would sense that something was wrong with Heart, but yeah, chances are they had no idea. Still, I find it ironic that Ysmir's original plan wouldn't necessarily be a failure and the Tribunal really dodged an arrow there.

During the events of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, the second Numidium, named Akulakhan, was a partial reconstruction of the first Numidium and was powered by the Heart of Lorkhan. Its construction was overseen by the maddened Dagoth Ur, whose goal was to cover the entirety of the world with his Blight, a deadly disease that he used to infect, convert, and control the citizens of Morrowind, so that all mortals might be connected to the Heart and thus be controlled by Dagoth Ur. as the player you destroy the heart but what happened to numidium is is unkown

It was reactivated during the events of Daggerfall Reactivating the mech is the point of the main quest in fact. Afterwards, it kinda dissapeared from existence thanks to the Dragonbreak. "Talos of Atmora" reads more like a ceremonial epithet than a literal description. Atmora was an inhospitable frozen wasteland by the year 68 of the First Era, more than 3,600 years before Tiber Septim could have been born.

What I find kinda funny is that if Tiber Septim had directly told Ysmir about the Numidium, he would probably have willingly worked with him to find a way to power it that didn't involve soul-trapping him. Ysmir was a veteran of Red Mountain after all, he saw the devastation it wrought firsthand and would probably be more than willing to have it on his side, even if his direct goal was still out of reach for the time being

In the Underking’s defence, he was probably just thinking of using the machine to nuke some High Elves, which can hardly be considered a war crime since the Altmer aren’t people. It was when the emperor used it on his own countrymen because he was too lazy for peace talks that he turned on Tiber Septim. Considering that he had the power to fight on par with a Gundam that breaks reality every time you turn it on, I will always point to this when I say the Underking is the strongest mage in the Elder Scrolls.

The elder scrolls is notorious for using the Unreliable Narrator. Also in our own lifetimes we have seen people rise to powerful positions and then immediatly be attacked with false accusations meant to destroy their reputation and to muddy up the way people view them. Was Talos the best? No...no one is...especially in the elder scrolls. Personally i dont believe or trust either story, as the hero story is too clean and amazing, and the villain story is written by people in positions of power that hated him. Maybe they had good reason...and maybe they simply were jealous and wanted more power, influence and attention. And specifically when it comes to barenziahs story...well i believe very little of that.
