I disagree John in the passage you cited, looks at the Marks of a true believer. A believer does not - - Keep sinning, sin does not Characterize a true Child of God, who has trusted in Christ alone for the forgiveness of sin. The song however looks at the Benefits the True believer gets as a result of the finished work of Christ on the cross, dying for sin. HE WILL HOLD US FAST Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. Jude 1:24 NLT And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Jesus will not unadopt you once He has born you again. This side of Heaven there is no sin free believer. Christ's righteousness saves us...for by grace you are saved through faith. The Lord sees our heart. He alone gives the new heart transforming our self centred life to being Christ centred. Grace, means there is no room for self credit or presumption only humility, gratitude and love.
