it brings a tear to my eye to see so many of the greatest gospel artist in this video have already gone home and that there will be generations that will never get to see, hear and know this kind or praising!
Today I'm finding all of the wonderful gospel music from back in the day of the church. There is a sound of heaven that is pure and untouched by the world-an unmistakable sound that cannot be confused to be anything else but giving honor and glory unto the Lord. I love it and oh, how I miss it.
I met Donald Vails years ago and he did a workshop for the men's choir I had just taken over. He was one of the nicest man of God I ever met. He left us many songs that we still do today because of his sharing. I learned so much from and I'm forever thankful. It pains me that many churches don't do hymns and some don't want to do them. They wanna do the sogs off the radio that don't last. These songs will move a church in a way the new stuff never does. These songs have proved the test of time, some my mother and grandmother sang and they still bring tears to my eyes. It's a shame many young folk will never learn these songs they just wanna Bob their heads to a groove beat and that's it. It's sad we're not teaching them the way to go.😢
larguei o trafico e as drogas e aceitei Jesus. E hoje me encontro limpo a 6 meses. Sairei do centro de recuperação semana que vem e ainda serei batizado com emprego e familía de volta. Só Deus é capaz de tirar um homem das trevas e levar para sua maravilhosa luz amém.
These are the songs that I remember hearing going to communion services with my parents they are still powerful. I may not have understood them then but I certainly do now. Glory to God
1 When on the cross of Calv’ry The Lord was crucified; The mob stood ’round about Him And mocked until He died. Two thieves were nailed beside Him To share the agony, But one of them cried out to Him, "O Lord, remember me.” Refrain: Will the Lord remember me When I am called to go? When I have crossed death’s chilly sea, will He His love there show? O yes, He heard my feeble cries, from bondage set me free. And when I reach the pearly gates He will remember me. 2 Oh, what a shame to kill Him There on that rugged cross; But such a death was needed To rescue all the lost. His blood was made a ransom To set the captives free; I know that I’m included, and He will remember me. [Refrain] 3 At His dear feet I’m kneeling. My sins I now confess; I bow in deep repentance, My soul He’ll surely bless. My blinded eyes He opens So that the light I see, And when I reach the pearly gates, He will remember me. [Refrain]

The greatest thing about this is I along with so many others were blessed to grow up around most of the people in this video, via the Gospel Music Workshop Of America National Convention, also being a member of Cornerstone Institutional Baptist Church of LA California, Rev. James Cleveland's last recording choir The Los Angeles Gospel Messengers!!! What an amazing experience and honor to be a member of Rev. James Cleveland's God given vision!!!❤❤❤

I just listened to Albertina Walker lead this song. It was wonderful. But, this is the way we sang it at Asia Baptist Church on Sunday Morning in Lexington, Mississippi, with Sophronia James Marshall Moses playing the piano. Not only do I miss her, but I miss this kind of singing. When people open this mouth and sang, with spiritual conviction...no showing off, no fanfare, just singing with spirit from the heart.
