I don't know how accurate this reportage is today. Perhaps it was the case as he was growing up in years past. One always needs a justification for their cause. I have travelled through Armenia several times and I saw gays at ease around me. I think the nation itself is quite traditional, but their behavior is not persecutory. There are gay bars and gay organizations. Even with media personalities, there is a natural acceptance of their homosexual expression. I don't live there, but I do know the government is gearing up more and more democratically valued institutions, education and laws, as they are able to remove themselves from Russia. Sorry to disagree with the dear organizer. If Mamikon's family had such a kind attitude, I doubt this is rare.
