Because at its inception, in this American experiment, it was never actually meant for us to be respected as full human beings and citizens. For us, they make it seem like we perpetually have to earn citizenship and all its benefits as if we weren't born here. Their purpose for us was to extract our labor to enrich this country and build their wealth. They've only sophisticated their methods as we have made gains. Us reaping the fruits of our own labor and being respected as first-class citizens wasn't part of the equation.

Slave owners in the USA never received reparations. This is apparently a widely circulated myth among Black Americans. It is not true. It is a question, because it is 150 years distant and no one alive today was a slave or slave owner. Also, slavery was legal and constitutional until the adoption of the 13-15 amendments. Rewarding/punishing groups of people for the act of people long dead, is fundamentally immoral and unjust. It flies in the face of every principle our society is based upon.

No explanation needed to know that people who were never slaves do not deserve reparations from people who never enslaved them. This is just talk to make you feel good.
