Can I just tell you that I love the fact you measured the trunk. Cargo capacities in liters or cubic feet are pretty much useless. I am looking for something to fit two big dogs in and the most important measurements are length and width of the trunk space with seats up. Your video left me with no doubt that I would need the A6 if I went this route.
You literally answered all my questions between the two cars. Like this video because it was straight to the point of noting the differences and displaying them as you measured the other car was great. Keep it up!!!!!
Great presentation! I recently bought an A4 allroad, grey with the optic option. I love the car. I didn't consider the A6 but it was interesting to see them compared. Thank you! I will watch all of your videos in the future!
Great comparison. Interesting to see how similar the cargo capacities are. I have A4 allroad and my wife has A6 sedan. In general (and this is true I suppose across the the entire range, it's really in that the back seat is where the size difference is most apparent. I love my A4 allroad's adaptive suspension... I'm always playing with it... drop it into dynamic and it's a much more fun car to drive than the A6. I'd love to try the A6 allroad with the air suspension tho'!. (I do think they could have done 19" wheels packag on the A4 allroad though...just sayin')
Thank you for watching! I’m so glad to hear you enjoy both the A4 Allroad and A6! The adaptive suspension is truly next level. I also agree they could have done a 19” wheel package!
I usually get bored on a car presentation, you made it very interesting and lively, it is a shame that the A4 doesn't have the air suspension, it would make it a more capable off-road, 🌹
Hey Emily, I got my Q5 (prestige edition) and I have been playing with it for a week now. I couldn't not find the signature tail light led options on my car? How can I get these signature lights?? I have bought the 2022 Audi Q5 prestige / Technik edition and I don't have this option. How can I get this tail light options?
Hello! I haven’t had the time to play with a prestige yet for 2022. They fly out of here faster than anything else. It also looks like you are in a different market as you a referencing packages that aren’t available in the United States. I would check with someone in your local market for those options. Sorry!
Hi Emily. Great video and channel! I know this is a bit of an odd comparison to make but could you comment on how roomy the A4 all Road interior is compared to a new Q5? Just wondering if it would feel dramatically smaller from a driver and front passenger point of view by going from the Q5 to and A4 Allroad? Thanks!
I assume these are 2022 MY? Also a huge item you left out is the cargo screen hooks in the headliner behind the front seats. The A6 and RS6 for some reason have deleted them (still on the Euro versions) and from your video it seems the A4 still has them? A huge item for me whereby the rear seats never get used and the seats get folded down and the cargo screen gets set up behind the front seats so the dogs have the max space possible but don’t get thrown through the windshield in the event of a collision. Another item I would like to see covered is my 2016 allroad had rear fogs but I believe in 2018 or so they eliminated them on NA spec vehicles. Shame. My 16 allroad was totalled and I was very close to pulling the trigger on the A6 allroad but the hook issues and elimination of the rear fogs pushes me away. Sad really. Great video.
Yes these are both MY 22. Interesting you say those hooks are deleted, I have a customer who puts his dog in the back with the liner and his has the hooks. Its a 22. I will say the LED taillights are EXTREMELY bright and for that reason I can understand why they did away with the rear foglight
Seriously one of the best descriptions of the Audi Allroads I’ve ever seen. Graphics were simple and easy to read and understand. The presenter did an excellent job as did the camera person. This video really helped us decide on purchasing an Audi A6 Allroad! Great job…
Love my 21' A6 Allroad Prestige. I looked at SUVs, but I prefer the driving dynamics of a sedan with the cargo capabilities of an SUV. It is a true shame the general population overlooks them. In terms to the Volvo cross country and outback, the A6 is miles ahead in technology, HP, and creature comforts (IMO). The Air suspension with adjustable height is the icing in the cake and makes this vehicle a class of its own.
Does the A6 Allroad still have an option for ? I know it's very rare, but I thought I remembered rear wheel steering was being offered as an option when the A6 and A7 first came out. Maybe because of the "chip shortage" it's no longer available. RS6 Avant and the RSQ8 have rear wheel steering. I think it is an option for the S6 and S7 (with the red calipers). Rear wheel steering might be standard on the SQ7 and SQ8 too. It's so hard to tell when checking the dealer website if rear wheel steering is on the vehicle. Please advise. Great video. I am now a fan!
Great question! I just checked the order guides, I don’t see all wheel steering on any year of the A6 Allroad. But you are correct about it being on the S6 and S7. It is standard on the RS6 and RSQ8. I’m so glad you are enjoying my videos! Feedback like this is what keeps me going! Thank you!
@@emilytheaudinerd Thank you! Yes, it is confusing. The 2019 and 2020 A6 and A7 had Dynamic All-Wheel-Steering as an Option. Doug Demuro and The Straight Pipes mentioned it in there reviews. But it's gone from Audi website now. In fact your dealership has a white, 2020 A6 Allroad Prestige list right now that has Dynamic All-Wheel-Steering - $1800 as the first listed Included Options. It's also listed in the Dealer Notes "...Dual Pane Acoustic Glass, Dynamic All-Wheel-Steering, Electronic Stability Control..." So it definitely was offered at one point. That's why I asked. Hard to keep track of all the changes.
Does the A4 Allroad get a factory tint that the A6 doesn't or is it just a dealership installed option? Also I was surprised to see the red start/stop button on the A4 Allroad!
Dang you are good! You caught all of the details! This A4 has a couple added customer options. The customer added the sticker red button and the window tint. They do not come with the window tint from the factory
I had an A6 Allroad 3 litre twin turbo diesel with full options from new for 7 years. It was brilliant. All LED lighting, 50 mpg and 0 - 60 mph in 5 seconds. Magic car. Cost £78k. Now I have a Q8 3 litre petrol Vorsprung. The Allroad was better…
@@emilytheaudinerd Audi had to bin the engine because some low life in the EU Gestapo said it polluted too much. This from people who pollute far more than the proletariat ever could.
@@user-kg2or3vh4g I like the V6 in the Q8 a lot. It has plenty of power for the size and has a smooth delivery. Personally though, I like to go fast so my real preference is the 4.0T V8!
@@user-kg2or3vh4g well, it’s capable of fast, but not exhilarating, acceleration (0-60mph in 5.9 secs) and it is very responsive at all speeds. Problem is with Go-Juice now at £2/litre, achieving a max of less than 30mpg makes it somewhat unviable from a financial pov. That’s why I’m changing it for a Q4 Sportback Vorsprung as I decided to move to electric.
Emily. Great reviews. You obviously know your stuff. I especially like you getting the tape measures out and really showing interior space, such as real world width for your golf clubs !! That kind of stuff is really useful and I like it.
Is it really C and B segment? According to European classification A4 is a compact class (C) and A6 is an executive class (E). A6 competes with Mercedes E klasse and Audi A4 with Mercedes C klasse estate (station wagon). B klasse would be Audi A3.
Yes. In the United States the classes are different. A segment: A3, Q3 and Q4. B segment: A4, A5, and Q5. C segment: A6, A7, Q7, Q8 and e-tron. D segment: A8. Specialty: R8, TT and e-tron GT.
@@emilytheaudinerd thanks for your response. This article information doesn’t support your words however. VW golf is still a C (compact) class in both Europe and the USA. Which means A6 cannot be a C class, as it’s much bigger than Golf. A4 Allroad is a compact class same as Golf. I’ll dig deeper to research. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Car_classification
I am just relaying what we are taught in Audi training, I haven't ever had a customer or anyone mention these different classes before. If you see in your article, they mention that the A6 generations is called "C4, C5, C6..." This may be an Audi only terminology for their segments of cars. I will have to ask more about this at my next training!
@@emilytheaudinerd got it. FYI C4,5,6 simply refers to the body generation index. For example, my Mercedes GLC43 body style index is X253. Next GLC class will have X254 index etc. Thanks for the discussion, Emily, and have a good weekend!
I loved how detailed oriented your comparison is in this video Very informative and practical Do you know if one can get manual transmission on these ? Thank you
Emily! Change your channel name to be more general and all inclusive (not only Audi based). You are a great presenter and would do very well reviewing other makes and models!
I finally drove a used A6 allroad and saw an A4 version. A4 is too small for me. Both gorgeous! Do you know when we can order the 24 A6/A7 allroad? Dealer here isn’t sure we will ever get more of them. I’m hoping we do. Also, is it possible to extend the factory warranty? I have to finance part of mine, so I need 5 years warranty if possible. Not a 100% cash payer here. I know that’s unusual. Thanks!
@@emilytheaudinerd I got it ordered! I found a dealer with a 2024 allocation. I got Chronos with Okapi, Prestige and BO. Very excited…except that Audi appears to have stopped including the sporty wheels in the BO package. Grrrrr!
As a former owner of Avant and E500 MB estate, I'm a long roof lover. But i think audi got it confused with their model line up re these wagons..IMO, they should have continue with the A4 Avant for the US market; re introduced the A6 in Allroad form and keep the RS6 as top-dog for the 1% population. Y the need for 2 allroads makes no sense. Not like any owner will be taking these off roads. If Audi does not bring the S4 Avant to US in a few yrs, i will get me a B9 Allroad instead as CPO.
@@maxaudi2804 we’re trading in our 2019 Q7 Prestige for the 2023 A6 Allroad Prestige, to get away from an SUV. It’s been a pretty long wait for the Allroad. However, we think it’ll be worth it in the long run! Congrats on the Beamer!
@@maxaudi2804 they announced the 2024 refresh and opened to Europe at the first of the month, I believe. We started our order for the 2023 last Oct. and we’ll be getting it as one of the last ones off the line, we’re assuming, before the 2024s begin production.
