Being a Toledo coaching legend may not be highly regarded among UM fans, but a closer look shows the quality of coaching, mentorship, leadership and community that is rare regardless of your zip code. Her players were talented, tenacious and exceptional in the classroom and community in addition to being fierce competitors and team driven. What Cullop achieved, particularly on a mid-major budget, is impressive and Miami fans should be excited to rally to support her and her teams. You’ll be glad you did. There’s a reason her Rockets for so many years led the league in attendance and consistently found themselves in the top 30 for attendance nationwide and there are numerous banners hanging in Savage Arena as testament to her prolonged success including conference championships, POTY, COTY and WNIT Championship.
