Excellent review. I would choose the Nanmu. It comes closest to the W-Dragon 'Rexy', which I choose over these two for at least four reasons: 1) virtually no seam-lines visible (high production standards - also in relation to the different materials used to prevent warping or bending), 2) beautifully statuesque, 3) correct proportions (compare the arms on the W-Dragon 'Rexy' with the wonky, spindly arms on the Rebor, for example), and 4) more realistic detailing, i.e. not over-textured, which would take away from the feeling of scale, or what a real Tyrannosaurus would look like at a distance). The W-Dragon model does have the 'disadvantage' of higher price, though, so the comparison would not be fair, I guess. But... if the publicity photographs are anything to go by (nicely beefy and good screen accuracy), the upcoming Nanmu 'buck' Tyrannosaurus rex is going to be a sure buy for me :-)
I have all the T-rexes on both rebor and nanmu. So for me there's no need to compare it because BOTH rexes are BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING toy collections 👍♥️
I really like the concept fo this video, and despite it having a winner, I think the goal is not to make fun of the contender, it still has it plus and cons. I hope there will be a W-Dragon vs Nanmu Spinosaurus contest, it will be very hard to decide between the two, everyone migth have his opinion, but for me there is no clear winner here.
Rebors is basically the Jw rex with its weird stature and cartoonish elements. Nanmus is pretty much 100% accurate to the stan winston rex. This is no contest at all for Nanmu.
I think overall namu makes more quality dinosaur figurines. One major problem that I've been experiencing with rebor theropods r the stability issues. Still for the money we paid for their products, why can't they improve on the balance issues? There's no excuse for that...my rebor t rex figurine cannot stand by itself!!!
I love both REBOR and Nanmu for different reasons, REBOR may not be as detailed as Nanmu, but its pose is cooler for me, and how muscular this Rex is, for Nanmu, better detail, especially the head sculpt...
Why not both? Haha For me both r just amazing. I mean, I'm still waiting for my plain version of Nanmu's T-Rex, but what I did is that I bought both, Rebor's jungle version (the Green one) and the plain one of Nanmu's Tyrannosaurus, in this way I can have both colors and both statues. Also I think that Rebor's jungle version looks better than Nanmu's Green one. But in the other hand I think that the plain version it's better in Nanmu's. Nanmu sculpte is better tho
I had that idea as well! In fact that's what I was originally planning to do, but then I thought this would make for an interesting video and changed course. Now that I've done it, I might trade out my plain variant for a jungle. I'll also agree that the nanmu green rex doesn't really resemble the bull in my eyes, so perhaps that is one comparison rebor would win.
Neither are anatomically up to date (I mean, you'd think they would at least try to get the wrists right). I want to see a T-rex model that isn't just a JP reconstruction.
Do both your T-Rex models stand upright? I had the rebor one first, and after a while it couldnt stand properly on it's own anymore and I got rid of it. I got the Nanmu one about a month ago after taking it out of the box, I put it on my table on display, only for it topple over. In the end I returned my Nanmu model.
The REBOR offering has a bendable tail (although I’m not sure if it’s exactly rubber) but the rest of the figure is hard plastic like the Nanmu offering
Hello, I just received mine, it took forever, having both Rebor and Nanmu I must say your observations are spot on however, Rebors exaggerated textures do hold up better from a distance. Nanmu does continue to blow my mind and destroy my wallet. Yikes!!
Like both i have the jungle rebor rex very happy with it looks awsome the price in th uk is £35 for the rebor looked at namu but can't see it anywhere for less tha £100 the namu looks weird the way it stands leaning over looks a bit flat looking all figures have pros and cons for the price rebor never disappoints. Still think the king t rex looks the best standing on the tricerotops a different color would be nice tho.
Zhorell Ski funny story. I actually had to reset the legs of the Rebor rex before filming so I had just gotten her out of the freezer and so she was covered with condensation and all slick looking.
Kinda hoping Rebor takes another crack at the JP T. rex one of these days, I think if they really tried they could nail the likeness pretty hard like with their Vanilla Ice and upcoming Crimson King Requiem. The Killer Queen looks less like a proper JP rex figure and more like a sort of generic JP-inspired design, which for me is why Nanmu takes the win here, but it’d be nice if Rebor put out their own slightly more affordable JP rex to compete with Nanmu’s offering
I can see an argument for both sides. On one hand, they’ve done several JP raptors, and the popularity of the JP T.rex would make a new mood a guaranteed seller. On the other hand, lately REBOR have been trying to focus on original works. They say one of the reasons they canceled their JP3 Spinosaurus is because Nammu already made one so they felt they didn’t need to. With that sort of mentality, I could see them saying they don’t need to make another JP rex. Also, I’m really starting to sweat their carnotaurus requiem.
@@Killershrewfan I actually got the new Carnotaurus yesterday and it’s really great, Rebor really nailed it with that one. I’ve warmed up to the Killer Queen a lot recently and I’ll probably pick it up at some point soon along with the retrosaurs and that new accurate T. rex is also shaping up to be pretty cool too
theclerksays yeah this video is definitely more for people who were thinking they could save some money and get something just as good from Rebor, which is not really the case. As far as the comparison of the spinos, that would be a great video. If I ever get my hands on the w-dragon spill I’ll be sure to do that
@@Killershrewfan Rebor does post their 3d renders of their products from time to time on facebook. even then I also noticed their over-detailing of their scales of dinos. Great to know someone else who picked this issue up.
Not a bad request. I actually have the Rebor titanoboa, but I’m none too keen to open it up with how special it is and how many paint issues have been caused by opening it
@@benperez7069 how do you know about this ?? And i think you mean 1:30 for the doll and 1:35 for the rex. The doll is too small next to the rex. By the Way, i just received the Prime 1 studio Trex 1:38 scale. It has less detail but the proportion of the body is much better and close to the one we see in the first movie.
@@benperez7069 Yes I know that, but it doesn't explain why nanmu deliver a doll with a different scale. Its all nonsense. Same if you compare the T-rex and I-rex, you can clearly see that the Trex is bigger... I don't think that there's exact scale about dolls or any nanmu's dinosaurs. In my opinion, Nanmu just screwed up the overal scale of Their collection...
@@santhoshrayappin1917 if you look the dinosaur on the franchise Jurassic Park/World u can see all the dinosaurs are to big, even the tyrannosaurus is too big, she looks 20 feet height in Fallen Kingdom when the volcano explode. So maybe this is the reason why Nanmu scale their dinosaurs. The indominus Rex is not completely raised unlike the t.rex which has a very high head. And maybe their indominus Rex is not completely fully grown like the movie
Pra mim as melhores marcas que fazem réplicas de dinossauros papo rebor nanmu.👍 Pena que são muito caras pra comprar importar pro Brasil..... coleciono dinossauros.
Alas, neither is perfect. If we take some features from each of them, we can make a perfect Rexie. The posture of the Alpha is bizarre. They ruined the whole effect. The body is leaning left and, moreover, the head (which is the best head imaginable, albeit kinda small) is tilted further left - why? My Alpha's right leg rests on the one toe which is the only one supposed to be in the air (maybe it's just my specimen). The Queen's skin looks too artificial but the pose is fantastic. So if we take the Alpha's head and skin and the Queen's body, we have the best T. Rex! Maybe someday we'll get to see the perfect, ultimate JP Rex.
Rebor wins in price, Nanmu in every other Point, the Nanmu got a more dynamic Pose, more Details and more naturely looking teeth. Only one Problem with this Video. You talk about Toys, both are Not Toys. By far to expensive to give them to the hands of careless Kids.
I certainly agree these are definitely not toys, that’s why I got that little disclaimer at the start of the video. Closest I would come to “playing” with these is posing them in dioramas or using them in photography. I feel for both cases Rebor is more appealing, as the extra articulation and lower stance make it a prime model for interacting with in scale humans/vehicles and other similar sized dinosaurs in photos and on the shelf.
@@Killershrewfan I use some parts of my Colection for Photos in Nature, for Example Duncleosteus and tiny Liopleurodon in a small River. Very entertaining.
The Rebor figure has its teeth too close together, whereas the Nanmu Rex is closer to the animatronic in that it's teeth are spread our a bit. The other detail is if you look at the front of the Rebor fig. The teeth on the front look small and the lip is flat, whereas the film design had a curved lip at the front and the teeth aren't so small. It sounds like Rebor used this image as a reference for the front of the mouth on its model. vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/jurassicpark/images/a/ad/Jurassic_world_fallen_kingdom_tyrannosaurus_rex_by_sonichedgehog2-dc9fqmi.png/revision/latest/top-crop/width/300/height/300?cb=20180427200734
Nah man I'm gonna disagree hard. Just a head doesn't justify 20 dollars. I also for personal reasons will not support the chinese economy, but that doesn't relate to which model is better so feel free to ignore that.
