Amazing Scenery. The number of houses where your open the front door and step into oncoming traffic, shows how the country depended on horse drawn vehicles, in its evolution. Thanks Paul....

Ta for that Paul. lovely ride mate. Reminds me of the fishing villages in areas of Tassie. Older houses, narrow roads and Awesome sea views.

Brigus Tunnel dates to the summer of 1860. It was blasted by Cornish miner John Hoskins. It provided direct access to Abram Bartlett’s Wharf. Black powder was placed in drilled holes and set off, progressively opening the hole. It took about four months to complete. Some of the steel striking drills used in building the tunnel survive, and are seen displayed at Ye Olde Stone Barn Museum. The tunnel is about 80 feet long, 8 1/2 feet high and 8 feet wide. Nice trip!! Starting to recognize the neighborhood as you get close to home😉. I like to follow up areas of interest with Google satellite view, then zoom into street view. I need to learn about the history of that cave/tunnel.. somebody wanted it, cut from solid rock! Thanks Paul!

Your a smart lady. This video was requested by a viewer but I like to show just enough to see if it sparks an interest and it's clear to see it did that with you. That's great. We have viewers who know they will never personally see places like this so doing these types of videos brings them here with out them leaving the comfort of their home. Thanks for watching Jennifer.

Nice ride out, its great just getting out there and taking it easy. The roads over there need some attention though!. I have to say I don't get out enough on my bike. Went up to Scotland earlier this year and looking at the Apls next year. take care

No John. Kathy was gone to get her hair done and it was a great evening. I originally had audio but it got frigged up so I added the music. When I uploaded it RU-vid kept telling me I was infringing on a copyright so I had to delete it and redo it four times before I could get it excepted. Four hours work for a 30 minute video. Drive a fellow nuts some times but a viewer had asked to see those areas so it had to happen. 😉

Thanks for the tour. Lovely to see so many homes that aren't completely surrounded by boundary fences (like they are here in Australia) which conveys a sense of freedom and space. Please, what are the large wooden boxes at the front of many homes? Are they just really large mail boxes or are they for some other purpose? Thanks again.
@7863348
@7863348 7 лет назад
Bruce that question was asked by a few others who watched the videos as well lol. Here in Newfoundland we have a lot of wild birds such as seagulls and crows. They are in the thousands and have been a part of our way of life for hundreds of years. They do cause some issues with our daily life though. When have our trash picked up weekly by a local garbage truck and we need those boxes to keep the trash in so the birds can't get at the bags, tear them up looking for scraps of food. Without those boxes there would be trash scattered all over the place. By placing the trash in the boxes the birds just can't get at its contents And it keeps the trash out of sight and keeps our community clean. It was a great question and it showed that that the viewers was paying attention lol. Thanks you for watching. Keep well.

Interesting the amount of traffic I noted on your ride. That surprised me for the area being as remote with low population density.

A beautiful ride but I get nervous that someone will come out of a house that is close to the road and you will swerve to miss them, hit a chuck hole and get hurt. You are a good driver but accidents do happen.

Great ride and great place Paul, did you have fun dodging the potholes. Why is it every country has DH's that like to burn some rubber on the roads

Joe Fenech Good eye Joe!! I saw those too.. but forgot to ask.. so I 'm jumping in with you on the question.. It was just Canada Day up there, so seeing the Maple Leaf out would be expected.. These pretty little things are quite different.
