Headlight HID bulb replacement on Ford Mustang 2013 - 2014 D3S 

Used your vid as a guide, spent only 30 bucks buying the bulbs myself and not going to a repair shop. My own advice for anyone reading. 1)Car turned off. Disconnect the wire connecting the lightbulb first, wiggle it slightly until you get it off with your fingers, no tools needed. 2)with your fingers again feel onto the bottom of the bulb device for the prongs he mentioned in the video. Push gently back and to the side, do twice for both sides of the device. 3) replace bulb, put prongs back into place the opposite way you removed them. You will know it latched on 4) reconnect the wire last to the bottom On one side i had a longer wire than the other so on the shorter side it was a bit harder to grab onto the wire clip but eventually i got it in with multiple attempts.

OMG, thank you so much. I had to pay the body shop $100 2 yrs ago to replace my headlights. One of those just burned out again and I was determined to do it myself. Thank you for explaining those pins!!!!!

Great video and explanation of the clips. It's a blind feel job but with your video and a little patience I did the whole passenger side job in about 10 minutes. Just a warning to others, do NOT touch the tube with your hands or it will fail very quickly. Hold onto the metal base and nothing else.

This video was very helpful with those pin he mentioned. It took me about 10 minutes to install both bulbs. It look tricky but Is easy.

Very good video. Great close up inside the socket hole. I learned quite a bit. The one big thing I learned is that my 2012 socket hole is different with a bunch of little fingers sticking out making it very difficult to remove and replace HID. I assume these are for ground at the base of HID ballast? Otherwise without being able to see as I am putting in new HID or LED, I hear the crinkle sound of these fingers as I try and maneuver it back in. Its sounds like I am bending and damaging these "fingers." Also the 2012 doesn't have the type of retainer clips that you show. Has anyone done this job on a 2012? Pictures and videos would be great. I will try and get good pics or video hear to show what it all looks like. Are we allowed to insert pics and videos in our replies here? Thanks for everything!

Here because Driver side bulb is going out. Guessing everyone is too.

What about the passenger side mine looks different

Getting the bulb out was tricky. Getting it in impossible even with this video. The wires don't have enough slack. Mine was the passenger side, not the drivers side so maybe that has something to do with it. Regardless it looks like I'm taking apart my bumper tomorrow.

This procedure also works for a Mustang Gt 2015? Since I don't want to remove the front bumper and I'd like to change the bulbs this way

Hey thanks for the video, it was very helpful. Good camera and light work. I needed mine fixed to pass a safety inspection and ford(Hawaii) wanted over 1000 dollars for the light and another 165 to replace it. Bought the bulb on Amazon for 65 now just waiting for it to come in. I used your video to practice taking out and putting in the bad. How long did your new bulb last? I hear they go out after about six months.

My led conversion bulb melted down a little bit around the edges of the retainers (the gold colored ring) is there any way to replace that segment? or get rid of the burned metal? so I can fit another bulb. I dont really want to spend on a new headlight, been looking on the internet but cant find nothing.

I was able to get the bulbs out but I'm not able to put it back in. The clips won't hold the bulb in place. Do you have any tips on how to get it back in place?
