Amazing work, so many steps to go trough, though that sand paper is so darn expensive at almost 5 bucks a piece. In my area, 90% of the people wouldnt pay for this perfect job, they come to polish their headlights only when they are almost blind (some not even then, they say they dont use the car at night:))) I use 320, 500, 800, 1500, 2000 and 3000 grit for sanding and in the end i use the polimer for coating. I know its not the best way for the headlights on the long run , but its fast, with decent results, it lasts quite long and its cost effective.
Thank you so much for zooming in on the pig tails early in the video and adding that.. I’ve been struggling for well over 2 years with those little pig tail marks after p220 with kovax.. this has solved such a big problem I’ve had costing me hours and thousands of dollars in supplies trying to fix it. Thank you AMD!
Man, i absolutely love your content. Quick, well explained, real world results. i learned so much about paint correction. II would be more then happy to enroll to your online courses. if you decide to go through with it please provide me with the details. Thank you :)
What is your preferred compound and polish brand? I've seen you use different ones in different recording, Carpro and Ewocar. What would you recommend? Also, thank you for taking the time to show/teach, your work is amazing!
as I said in earlier videos, I have been working with Ewocar for 3 years and believe me that all products are excellent both in terms of quality and price, and for the hardener and coating, the brand is not important, you just want it to be a fast hardener
Excellent job. Now the questions: Since I have the Kovax suitcase with all the sandpapers and sanding blocks and cards, but not a sanding machine , am I gonna have the same result doing this job by hand? (I also have a rotary and da polisher with all the necessary compounds). What about beginning the process from 600 grit if there is less damage ? Thank you
Hola, soy de colombia mi nombre es jeison, te hago una pregunta en qué grano de lija borras la cola, yo restauro plásticos de motos y se me hace difícil borrar la cola que deja lijadora, también utilizo lijas Kovax, ojalá me puedas responder
only you apply various transparent coatings until you realize that it does not exist and that it is short-lived because it turns yellow, peels, cracks and does not provide transparency as it should, etc. With quality protection, this headlight will last over 5 years, and that's about it
@@Amddetailing incorrect mate. It will need sealed & sprayed with a proper 2k poly carbonate clearcoat professionally applied with a proper bodyshop spray gun . Not a rattle can job . No polished headlights even with ceramic coatings applied after lasts no where near 5 years when the original top coat is removed with sanding / machine polishing work . That’s a fact as I’ve seen it many times over the years .
even factory headlights do not last longer than 5 years because the plastic is recycled and has no strength (this Audi is from 2017), with ceramics it will last 2 years, and with high-quality PPF foil it will last until the headlight breaks in an accident, I give a guarantee of over 10 years . That's what was said in the video. And I looked at those varnished headlights with well-known spray brands and I can tell you that it's all fog sales.
@@Amddetailing that’s garbage talk it’s fog sales if maybe a rattle can job was applied with poor prep but a pro 2k proper clearcoat sprayed in bodyshop lasts & that’s fact. Headlights that only last 5 years from new is usually low quality jap cars with trash low quality plastics & non uv resistant clearcoat used on them . Anyone knows with a brain cell knows that wet sanding & polishing is only a temporary job .. don’t let anyone tell u different 😉
@@Amddetailing it means that if you indicate to use a k1500 I can use my p1500. they should be very similar. and the next purchase should have the acronym k and not p
1. What the customer came for was done and he doesn't have to buy other headlights to be able to drive 2. Those who follow my channel and other videos have been told a lot in the previous videos how many revolutions to start with and when they should be changed, and those who understand can judge by the sound what speed it is working at 3. and that the front light has been renewed and looks and will look like a new headlight for a long time.
@Microstrategyliveus_2023 All you did was remove the clear coat. If you didn't tell them it's going to last less than a year in the elements you are wrong. Hack work, reclear or pass the job to somebody who knows what they're doing, instead of selling people snake oil
