Carol, you and David were good at this game. $10,100 was a lot of money for the 80s. When I was kid watching this I really excited when couple win over $10,000 on this show.
I see that they're using the "tell the home viewers how many words are in the headline" bit, which I dislike, but I do like how every second word is underlined in red to make it easier to tell them apart.
Agreed-in fact, here's a high idea: incorporate some of the "Headlines" Jay Leno did. _That'll_ really bring in ratings! Take this, for example: _ _ N , S H _ T _ _ _ _ E _ N H E _ _ , _ E _ _ _ _ _ ! (from the Metro & State section of The Charleston News, April 9, 1993) $500 - Clue 1: Don't you hate people whose lose their temper? Letters added in: _ _ N , S H _ T _ _ I _ E _ N H E _ D , _ E _ S M A _ ! $400 - Clue 2: When bullets fly, they really fly! Letters added in: _ A N , S H O T _ W I _ E _ N H E A _ , _ E _ S M A _ ! $300 - Clue 3: Sounds like double trouble! Letters added in: _ A N , S H O T _ W I _ E I N H E A _ , G E _ S M A _ ! $200 - Clue 4: Guess who's holding the smoking gun? Letters added in: _ A N , S H O T _ W I C E I N H E A _ , G E T S M A D ! $100 - Clue 5: Target acquired Letters added in: M A N , S H O T T W I C E I N H E A D , G E T S M A D ! Answer: MAN, SHOT TWICE IN HEAD, GETS MAD! Question 1: What provoked this shooting? Question 2: What was the shooter's motive for it?
I respect that Wink wanted to leave Tic Tac Dough and persue other opportunities but I think that was a mistake not just because his replacement (Jim Caldwel) brought that show to it's end but also because I felt like this show was kind of boaring compared to Tic Tac Dough and it wasn't a success at all. I know I shouldn't be biased and compare those two consestantly because I do find this to be creative and a bit interesting but I wasn't around when a lot of these events occured and I don't even read or watch the news so I wouldn't even know half of this material. At least Wink would have better luck with his next project which was the reboot of High Rollers.
@@SuperUkcats I don't understand why Jack Barry wanted Enright as a business partner. He rigged 21 and the original Tic Tac Dough, he went against Barry after his death and didn't hire Jim Peck to host The Joker's Wild and he made so many other changes to the company that he forced so many people to resign.
