I bought one yesterday! After extenuating research, I reched the conclusion that they are the best compromise between monitoring and enjoyment purposes under 100$. And they're low impedance so they don't necessarily need an amp. It's such a sweetspot

I listened to every Grado headphone with $1000 to spend, not knowing their prices. Walked out with SR60e + G-Cush pads. I have DT1990PRO, Q701, HD599, and many more. I'm currently using the Koss KPH-30i + G-Cush over everything lol.

@@IOIO6 the takstars for sure, they are closer to a flat line than the blons, very close to the t2 in sound signature and are quite accurate (t2 is kind of sibilant sometimes though, that's why I sold them). Blons are nice to listen to though, they have a bit more bass, which makes some music more enjoyable. The good thing about it is that it's not too much bass, so I get enjoyable sound no matter the music (and I am a flat line kind of guy). Edit: I think that me finding the sibilance on t2 bothersome might have something to do with me being autistic. I easily find myself slightly annoyed by high pitched noises.

Hey z, you can get lambskin pads for the Acoustic Research AR-h1 on ebay. The ones I got are a tiny bit thicker than the stock pads. They need to be attached with adhesive. Make sure the adhesive seals all the way around and they make the AR-h1 sound actually amazing

I have the fostex t-60rp since nearly 2 years and love them. The timbre/texture of the sound is what I love about them the most. The electric guitar sound is so granular and so good. Bass is enough but not too much. Need to explore pads.

I have 10 headphones and I believe you've reviewed all of them but the 2 I use the most now are the Sundara and HP-3 (with the Avia thrown in from time to time). I try to listen to most of them but the Sundara and HP-3 are my go to headphones when I just want to sit back and zone out.

Not sure what headphones fit in my range by this point. Looking for alot of crisp high end, mids, and vocals, still with good amounts of bass for around a hundred... Also closed back and over ear. without the need for special jacks, a dac, or other equipment. Just an eq.

One doubt I have is about the headphone stand/box on which all the headphones are kept. Wouldn't keeping the headband streched for long time due to the box shape affect its comfort and fitting. @Z Reviews - I have the M40x's with the ZMF Cowhide Pads and I love them. I haven't used them in quite a while because I love my Elex's more... but I do use them once in a while still (I.E. when the neighbors are on their dirtbikes and such).

What do you think is the best headphone for postitional/directional hearing, closed or open doesnt matter, under 80. That is also good for music but priority to gaming.. I'm currently looking at MH752s (in my budget) but i wanna get the SHP9500s but they are too expensive where i live.. Can u recommend one under 80?

Would you be putting the DT1990's on the wall and/or willing to buy them? And random question but is the Topping MX3 a good enough dac/amp to use with 1990's? I use them for mostly gaming, listening to podcast with the occasional listening to a game soundtrack. I'm currently using this setup and wonder if I should even upgrade to a new dac/amp or if this is good enough.

Zeos, pls advise. I feel a need to have earphones similar to my HD280 but OPEN. No bass rollo-offs, no bass boosts MMMMM! Not too bright, not too low-mid boosted - just right for me. I know they are far not perfect, but i LOVE HD280! I feel like im in a blanket when i listen to them. Any chance I can have similar but open? (using Roland rubix 24 audio interface)

117x go vs mmx 300 both are praised i wanna know which is more worth it for gaming both are closed i live in the city so noisy almost 24 7 im a causal gamer but i like to hear footsteps and gunshots in order to pin point... money is not a issue which headphone is best?

What was the cable company that does attachable ends? I have my HD 6xx and I absolutely cant find any good cables. Even third party stuff like new fantasia I find horribly sucks

How big is the difference in sound quality with an amp compared to a phone.

I could be wrong but might point you in the right direction, your sound quality is gonna change with a DAC, not an AMP, you are asking to compare a phone vs if you had an amp, but what you would want to compare is your phones DAC, to a stand-alone better DAC, I’m not 100% sure again but amps are for amplifying the power given to your headphones, some headphones require more power to be loud/louder, when a DAC converts your digital signal into a audio signal, so if you need an amp depends on what your device(headphone/speaker)’s impedance is, and DACS can always get better the more money you put into them, but diminishing returns apply to dacs and all audio gear ever, so just do more research before making a big purchase is probably the best thing to do:)

LOL connect them to phones.... yeah, most flagship phones got rid of their 3.5mm jack.... which is also why I am not upgrading my OG Pixel XL until the Sony Xperia 1 mark 2 comes out.... even though my XL battery is literally expanding, pushing the screen OUT of the case, there is literally a gap on the one side.....

I need a replacement for my Fidelio X2. I like the warm sound but not muddy sound (such as gamer gunk), esp when bumping 20-80hz range by up to 3-6db, feeling the bass is nice in content that has it. Inb4 "EQ ? EWWW"

so, for less than 200 what would it be the best buy? I am looking the hd580x, hd6xx, he4xx, dt990 and m560. Any sugestion? I have a vali 2 amp (so I think I have enough to power any of these)
