Type C version is The Best IEM for Beginners ! Bassier, more Musical and comfortable than Tangzu Wan'er and 7Hz Salnotes Zero My First IEM was 7Hz Salnotes Zero - crystal clear sound and details and lovely balanced tuning but bit thin tonality Second was Tangzu Wan'er- amazing warm tonality and very balanced tuning and great sound signature - but doesn't fit snugly and isnt that comfortable Both above are carrying out their duties well ... and there comes Raghav's review of the HPZ x Fiio JD1 Type C with 5 tunings ! What a great way for any beginner to try out all these 5 presets and see what type of tuning you like ... to take that deeper dive in the audiophile world ! Ordered one right away ... and no surprises next day its already Out of Stock ! Now about the HPZ x Fiio JD1 first impressions For comparison sake the 7hz Zero was too thinny out of the box and opened up after burn in for a week! Tangzu Wan'er was bassier and better out of the box but still needed a couple of days for opening up its full spectrum. But the HPZ Fiio JD1 out of the box is much more bassier than both the Zero n Wan'er and the sound signature and tonality is warm and pleasant - at par with the Wan'er Musicality is definitely better ... sound stage is immersive ... u feel like being in a concert Hall Details at present feel equal to the Wan'er and 90% of the Zero - but that feel cud b due to the enhanced bass effect Regarding the 5 tuning presets - one word - Amazing! Its very enjoyable and a treat to be able to switch the tuning for different songs or genres! Only gripe is the analog method requires u to go thru all 5 to come back to any preferred tuning ie. U cannot directly select any tuning or easily do a A-B comparison... but thats a small limitation just for beginning until u decide on the preferred tuning Ranking the Tuning Presets - as per my liking 1st- wud be no.5 Harman tuning - I like it the best as per now - for its natural sound signature and tonality 2nd i like no.4- Vocal tuning - it's great if u want forward Vocals with enhanced musicality 3rd for me is no.1 -Default Bass - Bassier and balanced V shape among the 5 presets 4th wud be no.3-Treble - mind u this is enhanced Treble along with enhanced Bass - full V shape tuning Last wud be no.2 - Bass Extension- for bassheads Tonality wise ? I felt the vocal tonality is most natural in Harman Reference Tuning Whereas Tuning 1,2 and 3 the vocals are a bit coloured VFM Is it VFM ? R u kidding ? Hats off to HPZ for getting us such verstaile IEM in this price range! Guys just go for it for its versatility and options!

Will this work on samsung phones for taking calls, previously I purchased Moondrop jiu with inbuilt DSP and that did not support samsung phones for takings calls, other person on the call sounded extremely muddy.Please clarify?

Just ordered the Type C variant. Excited to have my first IEM. Update Just got my product today. Can say it's super good. However I've noticed the sound output not being there in Vivo and Realme phone. Seems to work great on my Moto and Redmi phone

Hello sir i always had a doubt that a lossless audio streams at 1411 kbps and a LDAC codec is capable of streaming upto 990kbps which is quite near to lossless . There is no doubt the wired mode is best . But if hires lossless audio really enhances listening experience as we jump from 320kbps to 1411kbps then how do wireless heapdhones like sennheiser momentum 4 , focal bathys , B&O H95, B&W PX8 with no LDAC codec can sound good ? What is point of good codecs then? And what matters a good codec or heapdhone's tuning??

Oh boy! This looks tempting. A DSP at this price too by FIO with five switchable tunnings. I also had to say goodbye to a 3.5 mm jack with my new phone. I'm a balanced sound enjoyer, but this might just be my first V-shaped and DSP, IEM.

I just ordered type-C variant and I have to say that this was the best decision I have ever made by purchasing this pair of earphones. Different sound modes and awesome. Sounds is so pure and rich. I have to say that headphone zone has done a very good job by collaborating with fiio. Good price and good product

I've returned my hexa becouse they sound bright to me and have less bass but i don't know what to exchange it with at that price point I'm thinking of kiwi ears melody or kz zar which should i go for (I listen to all genres but mostly to big room house, Dubstep, edm)

u guys blew it out of the park with the DSP sound signature presets. IMPRESSIVE, especially for the pricepoint, LOVE IT! while there is vanilla FiiO JD1, i guess headphone zone's contribution comes in tuning(similar to crinacle, slthough i'm not sure), in exchange for higher sale by leveraging the reputation in india. DSP tuning helps manufacturer tune them to perfection, and having switchable presets on top of it is just amazing. as someone who uses 7hz zero, apple dongle on their android phone, and i HAD to buy UAPP to leverage the DAC quality&volume, totaling to twice the IEM cost. and thats just the minimum config as USB DAC's are usually way more expensive than apple dongle. The usb builtin DAC is cutting out the hidden costs makes these truly best entry level IEM. mic is an subtle touch to make it the dailydriver, not just for the hobby, feature packed, easy to use, easy recommend/gift to any average user. its a win for the customer. (although android or windows will ruin it all, coz no easy way to play bitperfect audio) (PS: as humans, we're all inherent to bias, and i'd wait for more reviews to confirm his claims) (how are these any different from "FiiO X Jade Audio - JD1". interesting to see it got delisted by Headphone Zone, although i am not sure if its linked to this launch)

Good for you guys. Love the website! Why did you guys make a straight type-C? (Where the 3.5mm is Right angled for a good reason) was it not possible for you to ask for that? KZ ZST, SN Zero, CHU 2. Now this... 2 more and I will have collected all the infinity stones.
