TIP: If you're looking on how to implement the CC to use the footswitches from CHOCOLATE as the same function as the 3 footswitches from MX5, you need to set the CC as PRESS/RELEASE and use the final values (127 for PRESS and 60 for RELEASE), then you'll have the same 3 footswitches functions from MX5 in your CHOCOLATE
A question. Why after programming a preset to turn the pedals on and off, when I create a new preset the chocolate keeps the midi active in a new preset where I want to map other pedals to a different chain? Is there a way to resolve this?
Hi guys My 5 M-Vave chocolate devices are on “custom keyboard mode” through Cube Suite app. However, once I want to change them into “custom control” mode for my different needs I can do that via Cube Suite however when I close the M-Vave Devices the changes were not saved at all. And devices still re-opened in “custom keyboard mode”. Is there any way to fix that problem reset M-Vave devices etc.? I really need to use them in custom control mode. Many thanks Cem
I have a problem with my chocolate. After saving the settings, everything works, when I turn chocolate off and on, the settings disappear. I tried Cubesuit Android and PC. I set specific PCs under the switches and save them. What else should I do?
maybe there is a problem with your chocolate unit's memory system,, if its my case, i would try to replace it another unit to check if the problem disappears,, hope that helps thankz
Tested today with the MX5. TRS to TRS works fine now too. Turns out I had it set to 'Expression pedal' instead of the arrows. So that is also something you should pay attention to. Thanks again for your response and the explanation through your videos.👍👍
Hi, I haven't been able to get TRS to TRS to work. When you mention that you had it set to Expression Pedal" instead of arrows, what do you mean and where is that setting? Thank you in Advance!
HI, loved this instruction but my chocolate does not work. When I connect it to my android phone (Xiaomi) they pair up but when I select any of the modes in the app (advanced cutom mode) the app says "data transmission failed" . total bummer
tks, by late night I got it! I had to turn of the laptop's bluetooth, that probably disturbed the connection. It works well now. I try to figure out some smart way to use the looper. I do not get Helix, Headrush, Boss, etc. All of their multieffects suck looper wise. @@KeyboardMac
Love the video and keen to try it out. Could you post the link to the MIDI connector you are plugging into the mx5 please? It looks like there’s two units joined together? Thanks again!
that is cool. Is it possible to control the looper from this midi stuff, while I can change blocks on the headrush? And with the TRS cable, do I still need to charge the midi pedal? Thank you
@@KeyboardMac do you think headrush intentionally do not call its pitch modulation "pitch shifter"? Because, I feel the drop tuning block is not good enough: latency issue, and if I try chords, the headrush seems terribly bad
@@KeyboardMacoh perfect I picked up a chocolate plus pedal to use with my headrush core just to control the looping I am running a GR-55 guitar synthesizer into my midi 5 pin on the headrush core only to sync tempo based FX. I have read that the core unit also allows you to use usb-a input for Midi control changes so I was hoping I could use the chocolate Plus pedal to control looping through the usb-a since it has a USB output on the plus model and I read that since it's class compliant that can work with the headrush core❤ My chocolate Plus just came in the mail today so I'm going to try it out. This has been awesome three-part video by the way great job on explaining clearly how to set up the MIDI pedal.👍
Hi, Is there a way to use it like its original design (preset a) 4 x 8 banks but not sending the program change messages? I want to send CC messages more than 4 max 16. Thanx
Nice video, I don't know if this could be feasible, but for example to change bank on MX5 you need to press 2 switches at the same time, is there a way to add that to chocolate to perform the action only with one switch?
Isang linggo ko ng hinahanap kung paano iconnect tong mvave. Salamat sa tutorial mo sir! super daling intindihin. Sana magkaroon ka din ng tutorial kung paano iconnect ang mx5 sa expression pedal na external. thank you!
hi I have an mx5 HeadRush and i,d like to know if I can change the rigs just not the blocks, the rigs, with an external midi foot controller and which one is the appropriate controller and what is the way to do it thanks
Have you tried sending multiple CC#s to the MX5 from a single footswitch on the Chocolate? I was attempting to do this for "Next" and "Prev" rigs (which means sending CC#50 and CC#51 on one switch and CC#51 and CC#52 on another switch). I want to do this so that I can press a single button versus two buttons at once while in Stomp Mode. It works but I noticed that after you scroll through rigs on the Chocolate, if you go back to the MX5 and start using the switches on it they start acting all weird. There's no way to resolve it other than powering the unit off and back on as far as I can tell. Seems it may be a bug - I reached out to Headrush support to file a ticket. Will see what comes of it...
Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. I've been following your videos. Setup seems to work fine. BT too. But whatever I set. The MX5 does not respond to the midi signals. I have tried channel 1 and 5. The MX5 put on OMNI. Doesn't matter the MX5 doesn't do anything with the midi commands. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
thanks for reaching out man,, try to reset the App by clearing the app's data & cache, on how to do this, watch the Part 3 series of this video, it's somewhere in the 7:28 timestamp,, then start from scratch, set the app to "advance custom mode" & make sure that the mx5 midi channel setting is same with the app's channel settings, hope that helps CHEERS!
@@KeyboardMac Thanks for your comment. I followed your instructions. The MX5 is not responding to anything yet. Luckily I also have a Headrush Pedalboard. It appears to work here. So it seems that the 3.5mm trs din 5 midi cable is defective.
In the app, there are 2 arrows next to a circle with a picture of an expression pedal. Click on those 2 arrows. There you choose between expression pedal and TRS-MIDI. Click on the midi picture. Then press the 2 arrows at the top to return to the main menu.
