Can it run dual amps? The signal routing options look limited. Could you perhaps show all of the signal chain options? Can you split and reconnect anywhere like Fractal and QC? Can you have multiple outs? This is the 3rd video I’ve watched on the unit and yours is the best as usual. Thank you!

Rad!!.. Thanks for the review Leon.. Does it have the ability to run pre-amp blocks and power amp blocks separately, or a way to select different power tube dynamics for any particular amp? How is the initial attack/latency/feel on the strings?

Great video Leon, thanks. When I started watching the video this morning I went to the Sweetwater site and was shocked to see they had 9 units available. I expected to see, "new product due in a few months", like everything else usually says, when a new product comes out. I bought one when the Sweetwater site said there were only 3 left and now I'll have it on Thursday. :)

Tremendous demo...what I'd like to see is a demo of low to medium crunch tones, dry, where you let the notes decay. A smooth, gradual decay vs. the old school scratchy, pixelated digital fizz is a good litmus test for modeling/profiling accuracy.

Yeah everything gets this wrong. I will say Amplitube 5 did it to the next level though, until Tonex came along. The Tonex fuzz, I say and played with for abiut 2 hours last night. It and the germanium based pedals are insane. Wonder how well headrush handles this.

Love that the effects etc look like the actual product being emulated. Still with they had a computer editor for ease. I don't care for having to go to the floor to make every little tweak. Too big to have on the desk as well. Their tones are killer though.

Wonderful demo video. I noticed how everyone seems to complain about the size and heft of the unit. Having previously owned the Headrush pedalboard I loved that it had such a rugged, sturdy feel. If you are going to be lugging this from gig to gig you want to know it's going to hold up. Plus it still ways a ton less than many tube amps. Another note is I never judge tone through a RU-vid video. Too many factors including my computers speakers and the compression through streaming.

Another great vid! I am a Helix owner and just picked up the HR Prime. In my opinion, the Helix sounds allot better to me. Maybe I am just used to the Helix to my ears, but when I did a side by side, the Helix sounds more realistic, full tone, better feel...its just better. The features of the HR are great, but the tones (which is most important) are just not as good as the Helix.

Thanks for your time. I have the Headrush Looper board. Is Prime a completely different beast?

Bought the core unit after seeing this tutorial. Does all i need it to except for using it straight into my computer. Routing it through an amp is no big deal or headphones. I use the usb cable provided and downloaded all the essential hardware and have the 3.12 updates as well. Will not give any sound through computer monitors which cost me a fortune. Do i need a DAW to make it work?

The best and most useful review, thank you! I have a question, how does this unit and the original hrpb compare in terms of sound and modelling quality?

It uses the exact same sounds.

No way, I JUST ordered one of these yesterday, Leon!! You're a God, can you please let me know if it has a digitech whammy pedal type effect you can program into the expression pedal?
@LeonTodd

Yes indeed. Multiple whammy variations

@@LeonTodd THANK YOU for confirming, I watched so many vids on it before I decided to buy but none showed any but I figured something this new(and expensive, let's not forget) would HAVE to have whammy built in! Thanks for the fast response too, damn, RU-vid personality/rockstar of the year! 🏆

Great video Leon, just curious if you or anyone has run into any issue when creating scenes. Can you change amp settings between scenes? I noticed for me, when I change settings and then save, when I hit the scene button it reverts back to default parameters and not the tones I dialed in. Very odd.

Can the looper be put at the front of the rig so we can fine tune rig parameters while the direct guitar is looping thru it?

We need to know from you as the fractal master... Do you think the tones match up to the axe FX 3?

The FEATURES are killer and I could really use this thing extensively. Unfortunately as I've watched several videos on this today, my enthusiasm has been greatly tempered by several comments about the poor quality and support of other Headrush products. Very concerning. 😢

I had the Headrush Gigboard several years ago. The unit was good. Built like a tank. In a mix it sounded fine. There were a lot of naysayers because of the eleven amp carry-over, but it really was pretty decent. It was easier to get straight to making music with the Headrush at that time, mostly because there wasn’t a massive amount of deep diving into menus. But modulation effects left a lot to be desired. There wasn’t a massive catalog of amps and IR’s to choose from. The re-amping feature didn’t work well, if at all. I eventually ended up with an Axe FX III. But admittedly, sometimes it does seem like it would be nice to have just my favorite 10 Amps, 15 cabs, maybe 10 modulation, 6 or 7 delays, a few reverbs, a couple wahs, a couple compressors and a 2 or 3 core utilities and put them in a touch screen unit like the Headrush. Just to get the option paralysis out of the way and more quickly get to a preset and play. With the Axe FX, it’s so configurable down to a gnats ass that you know you can squeeze that extra 1/10th of 1% of better tone out of it if you spend the time. The trouble being that you just end up spending too much time. And in the context of a mix it just isn’t going to matter that much after a certain point.

How are these for real amp feel? Can you get a black sabbath heaven and Hell tone? With hint of delay? Im used to real amps feel. Im not against using a processor if it can do a convincing tones, especially live playing with the band.

As Leon told, the UI experience is super. I watched all the first day videos, but the majority of tones I heard, especially the gainy, were flat, harshed with no dimension. Even with time effects. A "Prime" unit should have all new kind of amp sim technology and R&D. Capture is ok, I think only the speed is impressive. Form factor is huge. Ok, we should see what future firmware updates will bring to the table, but they missed to enter the hype that these days is happening. If this unit brought only captures and great time effects, in half the dimension, with this super UI and scene/setlist capabilities, would be a super competitive option.
