HH&F perform Hot Property and Harlequin on "2Gs & The Pop People" in 1972, with Tony Colton singing live over the original backing tracks. The programme features Dougie Squires' "The Second Generation" dance troupe, a spin off from his original "Young Generation" after he moved his interests from the BBC to ITV and the BBC claimed rights to the YG name.

Tony was my brother in law and I preformed live with him and Albert Lee. I did a lot of demo work for Tony and recorded with him and a band called The Teddy Boys. Tony passed away not long ago and I miss him and my sister Penny. What a great life and memories we made.

Never cared much about dancing but this interaction between choreography and music is really amazing!

One of my favorite bands of all time. Unfortunately, I didn't discover them until long after they had broken up. Being a native southern Californian, I did get to follow Albert Lee's career a bit when he was living here, and had a chance to meet him on one occasion - definitely one of the musical highlights of my life. Anyone who is a fan of the Heads Hands and Feet records (I have all of them) should also check out the Sunset Towers LP by Don Everly which features most of the band as well as compositions by Colton and Smith. These guys were ALL musical geniuses in my opinion - there was no weak link in this band, and they are deserving of much more recognition than they ever received.

I'm lucky enough to have all their studio albums and some Albert solo albums, the rest are CDs ,I would purchase other people's music if he was playing on it Jerry Lee ,Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash to name a few even bought Steve Wariner cd just to get a song called Crash Course In The Blues where Albert went off .

I would have been two years old when this band were playing these shows... Wish i had been born 20 years earlier.. Albert lee is my 2nd favorite guitarist after E.C, or was should i say after seeing him live at a very small venue about a week ago called Bottley Farmhouse, Absolutly Amazing!!!

Saw them play at the Olympia Ballroom in East Kilbride 1n 1971. Pete Gavin stole the show with his drumming. Spoke at length with the band and the road crew, Albert used to have 3 guitarists come and watch him play in London all the time in the early/mid 60s. Boys called Page, Beck and Clapton who used to hang on his every note.

Even now in 2010, Albert's playing from that album (FINALLY!, on CD), is fantastic. Him, Jeff Beck, Steve Hackett, Alan Holdsworth- world class players, my favorites! Love Albert's voice on "Song and Dance", too.

One of my dad's favourite bands, so I grew up to them. Love this song, love Albert Lee & Chas Hodges - and the rest of the band. This is quite possibly the weirdest video Ive ever seen though - I guess it was the 70's! 🤣

ilovejacobmiller Your dad Albert is an incredible guitarist, he does a lot of session work in a studio near me in Cumbria. I saw him with Bill Wyman's band in Carlisle and have a great treasured pic of him with my (then) young budding guitarist son. Very nice and accommodating bloke to meet, tell him thanks from Pete and Stephen

A gem! Thanks for finding this. I watched it as it went out - never seen since. Only 40 years of course. This was a really good series, featuring class acts like Cleo Laine and the above. I actually remember T Colton's slighlty bemused expression as the dancers encircled him.

It's frustrating and backward that so many classic clips get downgraded to 240p, when the original upload would have been much better. TV companies, especially the BBC are terrible for it, if not simply getting the video deleted!

I'm the mother of Ricky, Bobby, Eddie, Flo, Jerry, Dylan, and Alfonse, the dancers in this video. Thank you for posting this video of my babies dancing before they were crippled in a motorcycle accident trying to beat the Guinness Record for most riders on a motorcycle.

what a sad, lonely, pointless existence you must lead if you need to entertain yourself by writing utter bollocks in the comments of random youtube videos. why don't you do something useful with your life?

Two thoughts - the dance numbers were too much! Made worse by hogging up the video. And they should have kept the original vocal track, too.
