The idea of this is great, however when it's in use it is very laggy and slow. I think I will stick to AutoMate until this app has a major performance increase.
Dominik Buszowiecki I'm not saying it's not I'm saying it shouldn't. myself and quite a few others use this on daily basis and it works just fine. if you want you can contact me directly and I can try to help you work it out why it's running slow. Thank you for the feedback.
Ian Manger Hi. while it is quite rare it is possible that your device (rom) doesn't support 720p encoding or decoding. please use the app threader or contact me by email if you need any additional support.
I have a Oneplus 5 on Android 9 and I just get a flashing screen when I try to boot self mode. I was hoping to get the new Android Auto interface working on my phone screen. Is that still possible?
i have oneplus 6 on android 9 and here's how i launch in self mode. launch hur first and go into settings. enable software decoder, resolution 800x480, enable overscan. then force stop. launch AA, enable developer mode, enable start head unit server. exit AA. launch hur, watch for toast notification that wifi is enabled, then launch self mode. i had to fool with it lots to get it going. this worked for me. let me know if it works for you!

Hi. The so called Self-Mode will become obsolute from now. Google released today Android Auto 2.0 which can run in standalone mode, with this change they made the app pointless on a phone. The app is still great if you have a built in tablet in your car, but otherwise... not so much. Also with the new release they closed the loophole I was using to get it working on the phone, unless you have root.
This particular video is done on one device, but the main purpose is to use it on 2 separate devices. One tablet which is built into the car and your phone which runs Android Auto.
