I have to admit, I was only half listening to the video when I first started it because I was doing work at the same time (sorry Reg!) but I restarted the video and paid attention to the audience.... You are so right, his set is fantastic!
As a Black African woman, I have a world of respect and happiness at watching a Black man openly discuss and promote therapy, crying, feeling feelings and mental health. Black men, and men in general: know that this doesn't emasculate you. Taking ownership of your emotions and mental health is human and is the healing of generations and generations of generational trauma.
@@fanta5778 his stage persona/presence needs work. He sounds nervous and his body language communicates it as well. If they were just listening to audio, they might laugh more... but between the visual and the flow of his speech, it creates conflicting social cues. Dude, is acting like he's reading his homework naked in front of his class. Honestly, that would probably help him.. you can see he's too busy trying to read the audience and overthinking his material. So, it's like bro needs to smoke a light bowl or j/o right before he goes on.. have the look of shame in his eyes worrying if the those in the front row can smell his sins. Or workshop with other comedians, roasting battles and topical games are good ways to go.. it helps one master their material and develop that stage persona that needs to transition from joke to joke to joke. improv can help too, especially for storytellers... especially those dreaming of their own sitcom or d grade movie. Also, shouldn't have started with Biggie... the wedding love song story was lame, it was poorly executed all the way around.
This is so funny! I once introduced myself to a New York dude, and he said, “In NY we don’t be asking peoples names and sh*t.” I said, “You are in LA. What’s your name?” 😂
