Sorry for that the discussion is by passing very corrupted sectors but the biggest pillar for the employment of citizens engaged on different activities. The cement industry is among major economic growth driver for the country. Massive private investment in infrastructure and residential building had been freezing huge employment opportunity. However, challenges linked to the government's investment policy leading to oligopoly and corruption of authorities that has been eroding role of the sector. The supply shortage and surge of cement prices puts multiple players directly on daily labor, input supply, contraction etc in a state confinement by escalating the overall construction material cost. Currently, the retail price of cement has reached ETB 2000 per quintal, price of a brick picked from 18 to 35 ETB. Although the highest factory gate rates are below 600 ETB average. It is not only the mismatching of production(SS) and consumption (DD), but the weak directive and poor action on the unfair distribution is often leading to dropped supply resulted to unnecessary or exploitative price by threatening/small holders unfairly in order to gain personal advantage or benefit. Employment opportunity not less than 50 are highly dismantling due to shortage and surge of a price ........... youths with cart, brick manufactures with their daily laborers, mixers, panel renters, masonry, raw material suppliers (sand, gravel, stone, lumber, soil, water etc), industry product suppliers ( reinforcements, nail, corrugated sheet metal etc.)
