This is such a breakthrough even if it helps one or two. I worked with a company that supported adults with Autism & Intellectual disabilities. Prior to Covid. You cannot understand what life looks like for adults that live with in the system. My company was Awesome they truly believed in a Life of Possibilities. But that was limited. To be governed by staff your entire life 24/7 But what I saw the most was bad food to many carbs to much sugar. No one gluten free, no exercise. I came into the job as a personal trainer thinking I could make a difference. Not! The company and the parents just did not believe that food and exercise could make a difference. I hope this trial make a big difference in many lives 🤗

No it's not. This is fake. The treatment has never shown to be effective. This is a hack entertainment show pushing dangerous treatments for a condition that is best treated with individual support. Autistic people know this. Instead of trying to kill us maybe allistic people need to learn to live with people who are not like them.

BTW there's no evidence gluten-free diets help autistic people either. It's just yet another marketing scam targeting parents of autistic children who can't stand the idea that their child might be different. And I can understand what it's like to be an autistic adult because I am one. Healthy balanced diets and exercise are good for everyone but they're not going to make us less autistic. We are born that way and we die that way and that's OKAY. What we need is SUPPORT, not experimental treatments or restrictive diets or poison in our veins to make us look more like people who aren't autistic.

The GAPS diet is step one. To call it a step is misleading though. As it's a long process (years in fact) but must be done. Step 2 is take down the inflammation in the brain (by prescription meds, biomedical or stem cells etc.) and step 3 is ABA to teach them everything they missed when they were inflamed.

If you read the paper - autistic kids with an NVIQ > 70 (with no intellectual disabilities) had quantitive (statically valid) improvements in communication, focus, and overall behavior. There was no evidence of improvement in socialization or other 'autistic traits'. There were also improvements within that subgroup when it came to EEG alpha/beta scores. The ID pop with NVIQ < 70 had slight motor skill improvements but no other improvements. In fact their overall decrease in communication and focus may have skewed the results of the study (considering ID subjects were the majority). And of the NVIQ > 70 there was a better 6 month score when they had CB which was not their own (apollogenic).

While in college I was diagnosed with an illness that required a transplant. So when our daughter was born we saved her cord blood in case she ever needed one too. CPS took away our autistic child. She is completely non-verbal and has recently turned 18 and has aged out of CPS. But we still can't get our child back because the foster home CPS put her in has hired a lawyer to get legal guardianship. Between CPS and the foster family, we've been completely cut out of our child's life. If she could be cured using her cord blood or if she were to need a transplant, as I do, there is no way we can help her. I've started a gofundme so we can afford a lawyer to "help return our autistic daughter to us".

Being female is genetically/neuroarchitecturally protective against autism. These were likely not results of the stem cells but rather just these two kids growing up, in their individual trajectories.

@@sweetieb1122 Statistically speaking, there are fewer of them and their autism is less severe than autistic boys. (Yes, girls are better at masking - being able to mask means they are less autistic). Girls with autism also have more unique genetic mutations when compared to boys with autism.

Stem cells have great potential. There is not much treatments for autism unless you are willing to have your kids try some psychedelics, which is a far worse idea. The fact that stem cells can regrow or fix or reconnect parts of your brain shows tremendous potential

The improvements that that girl had we're almost definitely going to occur on their own. 🤦‍♀️ Many, many autistics make similar improvements WITHOUT treatments like that, in fact commonly without treatment of any kind because many of us went completely undiagnosed until adulthood! I was a child very similar to this girl except for without a speech delay (but I did walk late) and I went undiagnosed until I was 28 years old. I would bet money that if she'd also gone undiagnosed (not that she should have) that she would have ended up the same way we are seeing her now at grade 7. These "treatments" are for making money. And they will cling to their "success stories" like the plague.

Autism is not caused by vaccines and I will tell you why. I have TWO children that are diagnosed with moderate-severe autism and I am anti-VAX. My children never received vaccines, yet BOTH have autism. My son as well as my daughter. So there is definitely a genetic predisposition to this disease.

In Panama because the US wouldn't allow this treatment. It's not approved by the FDA and is considered potentially dangerous because it can cause tumors. It's VERY dangerous and there's no evidence to support it.

You'd be better off just learning about therapies that help your child feel confident and happy. These treatments aren't evidence-based and they charge thousands of dollars and pay people a lot of money to go on these shows and like to sell their product.

I'm using the term severe to express her inability to care for herself at all) and I do not want to add false hope to a depressing situation. She is 18 now so I know that what little time for any cerebral treatment is left is running out.

I understand parents want their children to be like other children, but Autism is not a disease. The brain is just wired differently. People who have rumored to be on the spectrum: Thomas Jefferson, Isaac Newton, and Albert Einstein has made great contributions to society.

It is annoying when everyone uses savants and people with extremely high IQ's for their examples of autism. You have people with autism with major developmental delays, severe issues that prohibit regular social interactions, as well as other health issues. Please stop referring to the best case scenarios for your basis. Not everyone who is on the "spectrum" is a socially awkward genius.
