I've tested both the Px7s2e and the Px8 and while they are both excellent headphones, they are in fact significantly different. The Px7s2e is more neutral, the px8 is a little more boomy in the low end. I ended up buying the px8. Ive also tested the B&O headphones (both hx and p95) and the sennheiser monentums, both of which i found quite dull sounding. Beautifully neutral, but not exiciting enough for my ears. All in all: i fully recommend to just go listen in a store, because audio is really most of all a matter of preference. Note: I didnt have a chance to test the focal bathys, so im not sure how they are sounding in comparison.
Listening it with my px7 s2, and considering to change to px8 due to wider sound and more clear based on your samples. I dont really care about other features :D
@@TechKnowBiz Same. I went with the PX8 as well and could not be happier in terms of sound. As a daily driver for office and on the road, I use a Sennheiser Momentum 4 though (strongly equalized to have a significantly reduced bass and increased mids and highs.). The sound and build quality of the PX 8 in combination with the perfectly designed controls and features of the M4 would make my dream headphones! The build quality of the M4 is crap but the user experience is world class. The features that both headphones have in common work much better on the M4, which has also more of them to offer. For example, I love being able to pause the sound in real time and activate the hear-through mode simultaneously by just double-tapping on the right side. You also don't have to decide between voice assistant and sound modes as with the PX 8, you can have both at the same time with the M4. And not to forget: multipoint works perfectly. With the PX 8, I regularly have problems when connected to two devices (permanent disconnects and audio stuttering). However, the sound on the M4 is just ok to good while the sound of the PX 8 makes me HAPPY! I permanently smile and wanna dance around when listening to it. Especially the mids and the extraordinary intimate sound stage are awesome.
Fantastic! For my ears, the PX8s has an increidble bass and cleaner highs. I love Gorillaz, the base in their songs are so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 which one headphones you'd say is the best for that kind of music genre? Best video ever, you got a new sub, my bro! 🤙🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻
Thank you. Appreciate your work on that. All I can conclude now is Bluetooth microphone is terrible no matter how expensive it is. Can you make a test with voice-call / mic test via USB-C cable (if possible), not via Bluetooth? That's very important if we need a good headphones for both music and online-meeting. But most of reviewer just simply ignore that.
Tried the px8 at a store, I was not impressed for my use case which is iphone and streaming services, if you are in the hifi world, it might be worth it but for a casual listener, its a no
I really need a good transparency mode that for my work. so is it good? Airpods max’s transparency is literally 10/10 , not muffeled like the new sony or any of the Beoplay headphones. I hear myself like i would without the headphones. (Coming from an airpods max which died recently )
@Péter Niczinger: I find the transparency mode of the PX 8 just ok, but it can’t keep up with my Sennheiser Momentum 4 here. For active listening and enjoying music, I prefer the PX 8, which is significantly superior in sound quality. However, for office and on-the-go use, I prefer my M4: the wear detection and auto-pause work almost in real-time there. You can also set the maximum transparency level quickly by just double-tapping on the M4. In the app, you can even set it so that the sound is also paused at the same time -> perfect for environments where you are frequently addressed and need to react. Regarding these two headphones, it depends on what you want (apart from the very different price point): sound and build quality versus usability and more thoughtful features? If the latter is more important to you, I would suggest to test alternatives before going with the PX 8.
@@anna_nym sooo they repaired my airpods max for free somehow even tho thr warranty is expired , not just that they literally changed both of the 2 earcups w thr electronics inside to a new one . I tried the px 8 and i had the max with me. The px8 s sound is a tiny bit better , there is more separation between the instruments and the vocals , a lot more detail than the max. The transparency is horrible , muffeled , robotic not great at . The build quallity of the px 8 is very nice. Just as good as the max but with no internal design flaws. Impressed. Didnt try the momentum 4’s tho.
So have fun with your airpods, lucky you! 🙂 Yes, the vocals on the PX 8 are extraordinary and almost ASMR like. I am also pretty impressed that the mids are well separated and not disturbed by the bass. Great job, B&W! Regarding the transparency mode, I agree. That's why I find it just ok: it works, but that's all. Just in case you want to test the M4: while the usability is extraordinary good, the build quality is really cheap and the hardware QA not the best. It took me more than one try until I had a pair without issues: the 1st one had driver imbalance and the 2nd one had a joint that creaked horribly loud when just slightly moving the head. That's the downside with that model. But if you found a pair that works, they are nice daily drivers.
Maybe those PX8 are much more expensive because as far as I can see those are the 007 Edifion wich at least here in México cost almost the double than the normal PX8 wich cost like $100-150 USD more than PX7 S2
