To anyone talking about how Ann isn't the singer she used to be, you guys: she's 72 years old. SHE IS HARDCORE AWESOME. If we had a magic machine that could transport us as 72 year-olds to her, she could beat our asses. And Nancy? Man. . .if you look at them performing this song the night before (NYE at Climate Pledge) and almost every performance before that, she STILL kicks at the beginning of the song. These guys are actual living legends and we should count ourselves fortunate to see them before we can't.
@@MrBeyondbelief let's not criticize Taylor. . .she's amazing too. She's just not a hardcore rock and roll legend like Ann and Nancy. P.S. if you guys want to be happy, do a search for nuno bettencourt nancy wilson barracuda. Liv Warfield gives a searing vocal to it, and Taylor Hawkins is on drums! It was recorded during the pandemic and it's just sumptuous.
If it was up to me, Seattle would have named their team the “Barracudas” and this would be their official song. One of my all-time favorite guitar riffs and one of my all-time favorite songs by one of my all-time favorite bands. I love Heart! Thanks for posting :^)
How did that never happen? That’s a spectacular idea. 😃 Gotta give it up to the band for not using any backing tracks. Just straight up rocking. Good stuff.
The WILSON SISTERS Band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!STEAMROLLER even to this day!!! and as much Foxes as they have ever been and always will!!!!!!!!MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a former bass/vocalist, I have to say, singing in cold weather is a little more difficult. Air density, humidity, frost on your tonsils, whatever, add to that Ann's lifetime of belting it out and the fact that she is a senior, she still gives more that many bands out there today. Nancy never left her teens/twenties, she is so talented, and fortunate, Arthritis robbed me of my playing skills, she's still kicking ass !
A lot of the critical comments are daft. This is a much younger back up group and very talented. Would love to see the brothers up there too but the stage would be very crowded 😂😂
When you have to start talking out the words more than singing them, you know it's time. I know she's 72 now or whatever, but maybe it's a good time to retire.
so ann can't hit the notes anymore and you can hear nancys guitar is pushed way back in the mix its barely even noticeable the other guitarists are doing all the heavy lifting, nancy is not even doing the solos or the noodling riffs, shes literally just being a background rhythm player, very weird, don't get me wrong i'm glad there still around but maybe its time to hang it up.
They need something. As a long-time fan since 70s, they have serious issues with playing. They're out of tune, harmonies off key, guitar parts missing/butchered, and Nancys' deterioration on guitar🤔!! In other words, they are painful to watch. Supporting members in band are also baaadddd!🤨😪
@@Sandman64613ever played a gig in the cold? I have. It sucks. They probably had a very minimal sound check. Monitors were also likely off. And . . . Ya know. . . They're 69 and 73 years old. What is off with Nancy's playing? She just played chug rhythm here.
@TonysMusic1974 You're really ignorant to be a part of the music industry, if you are?! The comments I made were not only of this performance, but of all the recent 'holiday' gigs Heart🤩 has done!! They are not firing on all cylinders and anyone that looked forward to their reunion, should admit the truth🤨! I know their age, and mine, and I know when I see deterioration in the ability to perform, and I see deterioration beyond the 'age' factor. Your adulation blinds your objectivity to their decline🤔. They need mega rehearsing and adapting of their performance to their limitations!! They also need better sidemen🙄🤙
I think a lot had to do with this performance. I think they booked too many days back to back. At her age she needs more time between gigs to allow her voice to heal. Leading up to this performance they had played on the 27th, 28th, 29th, the night of the 31st, then this the next afternoon. I'm just saying. Not to mention it was cold that day. Colder than the temperature read for the day, because they had to keep the rink solid. Y'all did notice everyone was bundled up. That being said, she is 73 years old.
Lots of criticism here. Are we being a little rough on people we purportedly idolize? As people get older, their sharpness fades, that’s life. Can you hit the hoops or throw a baseball the way you did 20 years ago? Ann and Nancy don’t need the money, they are performing for the fans and leaving their legacy, let’s just enjoy that. If you are tempted to leave a critical message, perhaps you can use that finger to click a button that takes you someplace you will enjoy more.
I listened to all this in the 70's, even saw them a couple of times live in concert. This is not good anymore, hey girls just retire like the rest of us have...
It’s so good to see Ann and Nancy on stage rocking together. Oh. Never mind. They don’t even look at each other. They each could be playing with anyone. They clearly don’t get along. And Ann sounds meh
This is sad to watch. I’d rather watch a Heart tribute band anymore, instead of watching this band virtually disintegrate before our eyes. I think Ann Wilson in particular needs to retire, and let her fans remember her as she was.
Don't get us wrong, we respect what they're doing, their age, the winter condition, but at the same time we need to be honest, it's terrible especially the vocal...
No she just can’t hit some of the highest ones anymore, she is 73 after all. Still sounds pretty decent for her age, just struggles to get high ones out, you can see she’s forcing it
It’s called being 73 and sometimes she does go after the notes still- not today. And also her lower notes in this song are still much higher than most people can hit.
I think the music is a little more important than the ego of the group. They should have put musicians and singers on that stage that can do the song justice. This was just too painful to watch.
Too many guitarists, rhythm is all over the place ,ann can no longer hit notes, band members don’t interact, ann doesn’t acknowledge nancy, ann stares at her teleprompter for the majority of the song, ann doesnt move to the groove. This isnt Heart, it’s Ann wilson solo 2.0 with an added women guitarist. Ann should reevaluate what Heart as a brand and a band is. Someone else needs to take the wheel and have a better plan for the Heart brand. The musicians playing are some of the best they have had in decades but it’s one big disconnect. ❤ what is the purpose of bringing another inception of Heart? What is Ann’s goal? Generate revenue for Heart General Partnership? Increase more radio or stream play to boost royalties? Sadly other Live clips during the past week show ann and nancy leaving the stage on separate sides of the stage. It doesn’t look fun for them anymore. Too many grudges over past decades causing lots of bad judgments building up over the years. Is this the heart inception that fans want to pay to see?
