Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting, CABG, is done to improve circulation to the heart muscle in people with coronary artery disease or severe coronary artery disease. During this procedure, a healthy artery or vein from another part of the body is connected or grafted to the blocked coronary artery. The artery or vein graft performed bypasses the blockage by serving as a bridge which transports oxygenated blood to the heart muscle. During the procedure one or more coronary arteries can be connected.
Before surgery, an intravenous line IV will be inserted and you may be given medicine to help you relax.CABG procedures are performed under general anesthesia, which will sedate the patient during the operation. A breathing tube will be inserted through your mouth and throat to help you breathe during the procedure. A catheter will be placed in your bladder to drain urine. Coronary artery bypass surgery generally takes three to six hours. During a conventional CABG, the surgeon begins by making an incision in the skin over your breastbone, or sternum. After that they will separate the breastbone and move your rib cage to expose your heart. Throughout the procedure, your circulatory system will be connected to a cardiopulmonary bypass pump or heart-lung machine. This machine temporarily takes over the functions of the heart and lungs during surgery, allowing the heart to stop while the surgeon stitches the grafts in place. One of the two blood vessels that is typically used for grafts is the Internal Thoracic Artery in the chest or the Saphenous Vein in the leg. For the Internal Thoracic Artery graft, the surgeon will leave the upper end attached to the Subclavian Artery and bypass the lower end of the chest wall to the coronary artery just beyond the blockage, then the surgeon will sew the graft in place. For the Saphenous Vein Graft, the surgeon will suture one end to the aorta and the other end to the narrowed artery just past the blockage. With the graft securely in place, the surgeon will use electrical signals to restore the heartbeat and connect a temporary pacemaker to the heart. Once the heart returns to a normal beat, the heart-lung bypass machine will be turned off and the surgeon will reattach the breastbone and suture the skin. Once the incision has been closed, a temporary drainage tube will be placed through the skin below the incision.
It is important to note that two other types of off-pump procedures and minimally invasive bypass surgery have recently been developed. In the Off-pump CABG or “beating heart” bypass procedure the heart does not stop and a cardiopulmonary bypass machine is not used, instead a mechanical device called the heart stabilizer is used to stabilize the part of the heart being grafted. The surgeon will perform minimally invasive bypass procedures using instruments inserted through small incisions or ports in the chest; these procedures sometimes require a cardiopulmonary bypass machine. After surgery, the patient will be taken to the intensive care unit, his heart activity will be monitored and, if necessary, stimulation pods will be used to temporarily control his heart rate. The chest tube will remain in place to drain excess blood and air from the chest cavity. Once the patient is able to breathe on their own, the breathing tube will be removed and replaced with an oxygen mask. The catheter in your bladder will remain in place during your recovery for the next three to four days and when will be removed gradually.

I go to cardiac rehab for stents (for over a year now) and I see everything from patients with stents, bypasses, and even heart transplants come through the program. The bypass guys do pretty well but recovery is slower. Most of them are previous stent patients. The transplant guys struggle and seem to disappear after a while. Primary complaint is the drug cocktail side effects. My dad had a bypass in his mid 60s and lived another 25 years eventually dying of non-heart related issues.

The surgery is scariest for the family waiting. In the OR you have a highly skilled surgeon with an incredible team performing very refined roles to keep the patient safe and supporting the surgeons actions. It’s not a one man show, there are awesome people involved from the anesthesiologist to the perfusionist to highly skilled OR staff, everyone knowing their role and functioning like clockwork. By having this surgery you could get to enjoy your grandma longer than you would without it.

I had a quadruple bypass (the maximum). You’ll be on meds and need tests and cardiologist visits for the rest of your days. You will likely require a pacemaker and a monitoring device. The pacemaker will require a battery change every few years. You’ll never be the same as before, but at least you’ll be alive. You’re going to need a primary and secondary insurance carrier.

really sad to see people like you, maybe this comment will change your life "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God." Mark 10:18 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the **only** true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17:3 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him" John 4:23 all of these verses say that JEsus is not God I Chronicles 9:25 says that Solomon had 4000 stalls for horses and chariots. I Kings 4:26 says that he had 40,000 stalls for horses Ezra 2:5 talks about an exile Arah having 775 sons. Nehemiah 7:10 talks about the same exile Arah having 652 sons. II Samuel 24:13 So God came to David, and told him, and said unto him, shall SEVEN YEARS OF FAMINE come unto thee in thy land? or will thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue. thee? I Chronicles 21:11 SO God came to David, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Choose thee. Either THREE YEARS OF FAMINE or three months to be destryed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; 2 Samuel 6:23 Therefore MICHAL the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death. 2 Samuel 21:8 But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of MICHAL the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite. 2 Kings 24:8 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem. 2 Chronicles 36:9 Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD. 26th year of the reign of Asa I Kings 16:6-8 36th year of the reign of Asa I 2 Chronicles 16:1 How old was Ahaziah when he began to reign? 22 in 2 Kings 8:26 42 in 2 Chronicle 22:2 Who was Josiah's successor? Jehoahaz - 2 Chronicle 36:1 Shallum - Jeremiah 22:11 (Matthew 27:5-8) says: -Judas threw the money into the temple and left -he went away and hanged himself -The chief priests bought potter’s field wih that money to bury foreigners there and that's why it's called **the field of blood** (Acts 1:18-19) says: -Judas did not throw the money -he fell headlong and died -Judas was the one to buy potter’s field wih that money - it was called **the field of blood** because Judas died there. 19 Now this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was. 20 He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.” 21 They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.” 22 Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” 23 John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’” 24 Now the Pharisees who had been sent 25 questioned him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” So you see "the prophet" is distinctly identified as an awaited person here "twice" so no one can claim it was either Jesus the "Messiah" or "Elijah". That is the prophet of Deuteronomy 18:18 and Isaiah 42 who was to be the light to the nations. That prophet was the promise to Abraham in Genesis 17:20 that Ishmael will be blessed and God will make him a great nation. A nation of light to all the nation through the message of Muhammad PBUH. Isaiah 42 start with: "Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight;" "my servant" the servant of God, literally means Abdullah, one of the names of Muhammed pbuh "chosen one" chosen by God, literally translates to Mustafa, one of the names of Muhammed pbuh "I delight" delighted by God, literally translates to Habib-Allah, one of the names of Muhammed pbuh "Let the wilderness and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops." "Kedar", out of all the places on earth, God chose to 'inspire' isaiah to say Kedar's location, in the bible Kedar and his sons are linked to arabia, the book of ezekiel says "Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were your favorite dealers and Lambs lambs and goats in these they did business with you" later in verse 11 it says: "Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops." Sela, is a mountain, in arabia, to be exact, Madina, the city of Muhammed. Here is something interesting, jewish people lived in this place, the 3 major jewish tribes lived there, this is historically correct by the way, why did they live there? well, they knew about this prophecy in Isaiah. the Quran clearly says this in Surah 2 verse 197 "Was it not sufficient proof for the deniers that it has been recognized by the knowledgeable among the Children of Israel?" "Sing to the Lord a new song" new song, meaning a new law, a new way of worship, this clearly talks about Islam, the verse then says: "his praise from the ends of the earth", the first verse of the first chapter of the Quran says: "All praise is for Allah-Lord of all worlds" as we are speaking, thousands Muslims have recited this verse. A Muslim say this at least 17 times a day. this verse can not talk about Jesus, because he confirmed the law of Moses and he did not come with a new law. Isaiah verse 6 it says: "I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles," Gentiles meaning non jews, this confirms to you that Muhammed is a prophet, he was sent to the whole world, jews and non jews, the Quran says: (34:28) "(O Prophet), We have not sent you forth but as a herald of good news and a warner for all mankind. But most people do not know." this can not apply to Jesus , because the bible says says: "He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”" Matthew 15:24 Isaiah verse 16 says: "I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;" the person this verse is talking about is going to be sent to blind people, to guide them along an unfamiliar path, this can not apply to Jesus as God has already sent numerous prophets to the children of Israel. "But those who trust in idols, who say to images, ‘You are our gods,’ will be turned back in utter shame." Arabs, before Muhammed pbuh came, were worhsiping Idols and images, they thought they were Gods, this person perfectly matches Muhammed pbuh. Genesis 17:20 tells that God will make Ishmael a great nation, Ishmael is the 'father' of arabs, who's the arab prophet? and many more

@@Allah-is-God Jesus is God the Father. He is alone savior. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Wow, it looks WAY harder than a simulation i did before. In the simulation, i could just open patient chest, cut organs, and put a new heart... . . . Oh yeah, the simulation is called Surgeon Simulator.

On the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family: There is no young man who got married at a young age without his devil shouting: Woe to him, oh woe to him! Two-thirds of his debt is protected from me, so let the servant fear God for the remaining third. Source: The book of the balance of wisdom

If your doctor watches this before your surgery, he's a fool, these animations are misleading, as they do not show the amount of tissue that has to be dissected to do the surgery and the trauma to these tissues, including the delicate anastomosis of the vessels and sealing them from pressure leaks
