Heart headlined the first concert I saw Day On The Green 1981 I saw them 3 other times all fantastic. I was going to see them again this year until their tour was postponed due to Ann Wilson being diagnosed with cancer. She is undergoing chemotherapy and said this isn’t the end she’ll be back
Watching you young people reacting to this absolute masterpiece is amazing. Heart is in the Top 3 bands of all time, IMO. I mean combine the GREATEST voice in rock history, with a Top 3 guitarist.......They NEVER EVER did a bad song !!! Love Heart so much !!!
I love Heart. You will find hidden gem after hidden gem within their first 5 studio albums. This was my favorite band line up (Heart underwent some line-up changes over time)
I bought and still have this album from the day it first hit the store here in Anchorage Alaska. Ann & Nancy Wilson along with their band were the top draw performers when this song hit the radio. This is a true rock and roll classic!
Heart album had just come out in 76 and it was amazing but I wasn't convinced so the first Texas jam came out the next year and they were one of many headliners they blew them all away in my opinion went to every show from that day forward always amazing
This takes me back to August 16th, 1977. Asbury Park, NJ at Convention Hall with my high school sweetheart, one of her friends, and my younger sister went to see Heart. Short of sitting down on the floor near the stage, I had center balcony seats with an unobstructed view of the stage in a small 2,000 seat arena. This performance is actually from 1977. This is definitely live, the 2 1/2 minute intro and Ann's belts aren't on the studio cut.
Lots of improv there. Roger Fisher sort of lost it in his solo. But Ann's on fire with her vocal improv. But again, no one cared. The audience was well-baked in their brains by this time.
Ann & Nancy are definitely Heart's core members but they are not the founding members. Heart was formed in 1967 by lead guitarist Roger Fisher and bassist Steve Fossen. They hired Ann in 1970 and Nancy joined in 1974. So awesome to see Ann & Nancy rockin today!!!

I still remember watching the VU meters dance to this song when I was a college radio DJ in 1975. Heart were awesome and groundbreaking. This would have been better had Nancy tuned her guitar. No one cared though. They were all stoned as hell! Their tribute performance of Led Zeppelin's *Stairway to Heaven* live at Kennedy Center is amazing if you haven't seen it. It brought Robert Plant to tears.
Crazy On You blew the whole country up when it hit the streets. Ann and Nancy earned every bit of the legend status they hold in the world of rock n roll. I saw them with the original members in Sacramento. To this day that show is in my top 3 concerts. They burned the place down live.
BTW, I think my favorite Heart concert on-video is actually… In SEATTLE in 2002 Especially these two songs… “THESE DREAMS” (Nancy’s vocals sound BETTER than the studio recording!) And… “ALONE” (Ann is still BELTING vocals in her (I believe) 50s at-the-time) Oh AND (SORRY for long comment)… The group Disturbed just released a new single: “Don’t Tell Me” …which features ANN WILSON (at the age of 72, she still ROCKS)

There's a backstory for this song! It was the early 70's, Vietnam is going on, everyone is scared to death of nuclear war. I forget which sister wrote this one but the idea is that things are so crazy she just wants to hole up with her lover and try to forget the world and what's going on. BTW; glistening from Las Vegas, NV at 111 F! Can I ask you for some love for two for two my very favorite artists who don't get nearly the appreciation they deserve? Samantha Fish is a fabulous vocalist and has serious guitar chops. My very favorite guitarist in the world is Jesse Cook who plays a style he calls Rhumba Flamenca. He does a lot of instrumental stuff, but also brings in singers for the vocal numbers he does. At one point in one of these reactions you mentioned "blue grass" growing up. If you like "quirky" bands or I guess one might say "prog rock", along with older music styles, try "The Cars" "My Best Friend's Girl" as it is like 70's rock with a "rock-a-billy" lick as the main riff. Even if you don't react to that, listen for yourself sometime.
Ann and Nancy are legendary for a reason. There are few that can compare with Ann for pure power. I do recommend checking out the band Plush, and their vocalist Moriah Formica. Her voice is very similar to Ann's, so much that on Plush's tour with Disturbed, she joined Disturbed to sing Ann's part on "Don't Tell Me". Check out "Run", Left Behind", or even Plush's cover of "Barracuda".
I grew up in Canada close to Seattle and saw Heart many times live they were amazing. Ann and Nancy were trailblazers for women in rock every women wanted to be them and every guy wanted to date them was the most popular line in that era. Great reaction thank you for returning me to my teens. 💗🤟
Nice. I saw them once in one of those super concerts that used to happen in the 80s. Sammy Hagar opened with his band. Then Came Blue Oyster Cult. And finally Heart. The thing was, it was pouring raining when BOC came on, and they stopped until the rain abated. When Heart came on it started raining like a bitch. But Ann just told the crowd who the f cares, and they played in the rain and it was freakin awesome as hell.
Too many good ones. Sorry to say Nancy is great, but not even close to the best. Have you ever heard of Orianthi? She will blow you away, and even she is not the best.
Love it! Just so many good live bands from that time. Seems to have been so many that just did the hard work of playing live and building a reputation and a hardcore fan base in the process.

I saw them when they were just starting to be noticed. I went to a concert in Saratoga Springs in NY at SPAC back in the late 70's to see Loggins & Messina, and Heart was the opening act. They just had released their new hit "Barracuda".....it was a great show all around.
Rock Royalty!! Ann Wilson is one of the greatest rock voices of all time. Nancy isn't far behind, and then the guitar.....Queens.The entire band ROCKED!!
The camera always focuses on the picking hand because it’s the one that is most obviously moving, even though it’s of zero interest to anyone who is interested in seeing what a guitarist’s hands are doing. From a tv/film perspective, you can understand why they do it - the hand that is moving is action and action is what they are trying to capture. It’s still wrong though and it drives me bonkers.
