Cathedral conservators who scaled the height of Britain's tallest spire to repair a weather meter have filmed their spectacular efforts. Clerk of Works Gary Price led the "heart in your mouth" work 404ft (123m) up at the capstone of Salisbury Cathedral in Wiltshire. I fell in love with .Salisbury Cathederal the first time I visited the UK with Peter. Michael and Hazel took me there and I still have some souvenirs.

this isn't as scary as the one where they climbed up over 500m to fix a transmission tower without any safety lines attached as those would slow the workers down. having the safety line itself creates a huge cushion of comfort.

Good old reliable Munro cup anemometer at the top. They're also a part of history. Please don't tell me that the "weather meter" is the anemometer, and that's it's been replaced by current tech.
