I could watch this every single day for the rest of my life. And still be touched by some of the incredible moments in this clip. Jason Bonham in the bowler hat (as well as the choir), the choir in the back. Jimmy Page throughout the performance , but especially when the larger choir appears. Robert Plant fighting his emotions seeing John's son down there doing a great job. Bonnie Raitt shouting out in the audience. Stephen Cobert's grin from ear to ear.... And ofcourse Ann Wilson nailing every single second of this magnificent song.

Epic cover, best ever. Also, that's Jason Bonham on the drums, John Bonhams son, the original drummer. Also, I've watched several reactions to this with youngsters as the reactors and a few of them asked "who are those three old guys the camera keeps showing" ....breaks my heart every time.

What the video did not show was that, before Ann & Nancy Wilson came onstage, Jason Bonham came out and was introduced to the audience as Jon Bonham's son and the drummer for that night. It turns out that this was a complete surprise to Robert Plant who, as Jason's Godfather and a long-time family friend, had actually invited Jason to attend the event to represent his father. Jason, who already knew he was going to be a surprise guest, had to turn him down, saying that he was already committed to a gig that night. So the huge smile on Mr. Plant's face at the very beginning is because he's delighted at the surprise. Two other tidbits: the bowler hat that Jason is wearing is his father's actual hat, and the drum kit is also his father's, as well.

Rumor has It that Led Zeppelin didn't know John Bonham's son was going to be playing drums here. They invited him to the show but he said he had a previous engagement. He said it killed him to have to lie to Robert and the rest of the guys.

On an ep of American Idol, someone came in and chose to audition on a song by Heart. Before they even opened their mouth to sing, Randy Jackson (judge) told them "Ann Wilson has one of the best voices in rock, and music. So if you're coming with a song sung by Ann Wilson, you better be prepared to do it right." *Mic drop* The power of Ann Wilson and her legendary vocals (Nancy ain't no slouch either, her voice is just softer than Ann's, but still strikingly beautiful).

You should watch heart play live in Seattle 2002 . The whole concert is fantastic , but you need to hear Minstrel wind. Nancy’s guitar playing and the drums just really make this sound with Ann astounding .

Ann and Nancy were on tour in Florida so they had to go back and forth. Ann was 62 and Nancy 58. They still rock hard at 70 and 66 .

What a set of pipes on Ann 😱 and at 62yo.. you can really hear the maturity and depth in her voice in that it is, in a word, "Seasoned" 🤷.. absolutely sensational.. the perfect choice to tribute, arguably the greatest rock song of all time by the greatest rockers of all time.. the reaction on the old boys faces say it all!! 🤘🤘

Most ladies of classic rock are so underrated. Heart is the cream of the crop; but check out Tina Turner's Nutbush, Grace Slick's White Rabbit, anything Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Janice Joplin, Mama Cass Elliott, Chrissie Hynde, so many more.

Truly timeless performance. Was only fitting for Ann and Nancy Wilson to sing this tribute. After all, this song was inspired by Randy California of Spirit. Mark Andes the bassist for Spirit later became the bassist for Heart.

@@andyschnell58 Heart has since the beginning played Zeppelin songs in their sets, usually in their encore. “Rock and Roll”, “Black Dog”, “Misty Mountain Hop”, “The Rain Song”, “Battle of Evermore”, etc. So it was pretty natural to ask Ann and Nancy to do this tribute. (It’s not actually Heart doing this tribute; it’s just Ann and Nancy. Heart is a six member band led by the ladies, not a duo). They did a tour about 5 years ago with Jason Bonham’s band as their opener, and the last 30 minutes of Heart’s set was all Zep covers with Jason on drums. Before doing the tour they got the blessing of Robert, Jimmy, and John Paul.

Iconic cover of an iconic song. Some argue that Bohemian Rhapsody was the greatest rock song ever, it may well be. But for me, personally, Stairway to Heaven is THE song.

@Miguel Lopez Heart's been playing a Zeppelin cover or two at each concert since then, yes but they didn't start playing Stairway until 2 years after this performance and even then it's only every now and again. Their Zeppelin go to song since '78 was Rock N' Roll and in '95 they added Battle Of Evermore to that mix.

@@fortch17 You're Wrong. Check out the extended CD of Dog & Butterfly. They added their 1977 live performance of Stairway To Heaven to that CD. They also performed Stairway To Heaven at their 1993 concert in Denver at The Paramount Theater.

@Miguel Lopez The 2004 remastered reissue of Dog & Butterfly has 3 bonus tracks. Heartless (live at the BBC), Feels, and A Little Bit. Other than that there's been no extended version of Dog & Butterfly. The set list for December 6, 1993 at The Paramount Theatre in Denver has no mention of Stairway To Heaven, granted it only lists 4 songs from the set. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong but respectfully I'd like to see cited sources to back up your information.
