It's preferable to the other options 😂🧙🏻‍♂️.. but I would expect them to have had everything lashed down 😬. Definitely a case for bring on another plane till this one has an airframe and systems check. The amount of water in that beast is greater than almost all the USAs rivers and lakes.. and it's going to need to dump 90% before it calms down and there's still two more out there and terawatts of heat stored in the oceans.🌀💨🧙🏼‍♂️ So these guys and girls are going to have to keep coming back 🤞🏻 plus the ones on ships out in the solid stuff.🌊⛈️

When that plane was stationed on my island here in the Caribbean 2 or 3 years ago I had the chance to get on. Those things are secured. You can not secure, pen, pencils and other misc items people work with. If those things shifted you would have seen the equipment flying @.

I'm in Florida, lived here 15 years storm's keep getting worse every year! Thank goodness there are 14 THOUSAND electric lineman from 37 states already here to help with all the power that WILL go out! No a/c when temperatures are in the 90's along with the humidity being 94 percent is HORRIBLE! Thank goodness for all the lineman 😊❤

NOAA was flying an old P-3 Orion, not a C-130 Hercules. You can tell by the short wings, the type of turbo engines and the narrow fuselage with much less headroom. The inside of a C-130 would be larger to house cargo.

You can tell the difference between the civilian NOAA scientists and the military crew flying a hurricane hunter mission. NOAA civilians don’t secure lose objects on the plane as they fly through a hurricane, like zipping his pocket shut with his mobile phone and wallet. In front of the plane one of the NOAA scientists was using his hand to hold down his drink/food cooler.

Airplanes are indifferent to wind. The earth blows by, not the air. Turbulence is from small scale up and down currents.

Frankly, the flying into hurricanes has run its course, there is little or no more to know, they’ve got all the data they need for whatever reason? It won’t end until an entire crew & plane are lost.

The satellite images aren't enough, there's a lot of data that's vital for accurately modelling the future behaviour of the storm that you can only record from inside it. These aren't "storm chasers" in the usual sense, they're not just random people risking their life for fun. These are military pilots working for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration gathering the data that will be used to create all of the hurricane models you see on the news, their work is incredibly important and will save many lives.
