There is a version of "Unchained Melody" that Heart recorded live at a concert earlier in their career that is the most phenomenal live vocal performance I've ever heard. If I can figure out how to join your channel to request songs for reactions I'll request it -- it's pretty incredible.
@@WithaJoeFro Interesting. I did recently check out Angelina Jordan's rendition of Unchained Melody. I didn't know Heart did one. I'll add it to the list. I add every request to the list that I see. Getting to those songs can take a long time sometimes. But priority requests from Buy Me a Coffee get jumped to the front of the line
Her voice is so crazy awesome. It's comforting in this tribute, it has a quality that is just comforting. Then when she's singing heavier stuff she shrieks like no other singer I've ever heard. It's incredible.
This is spectacular! Robert was emotional because when the choir came in at the end they were all wearing John Bonham's signature hat.Robert and Bonzo were best friends and he's Jason's Godfather. He asked Jason to come to the tribute and Jason told him he couldn't go and Robert was sad. Jason also said he would play only if Heart performed. Ann was 62 and she killed it. I saw them in the 90's and these ladies kicked ass❤
It was great that Buddy Guy was being honored because I heard that Buddy is Jimmy Page's idol. Kennedy center honors mysical direct Rob Mathes is so talented. . The center has been doing this for a very long time. Started by John f. Kennedy to support the arts, acting singing, rock, blues, jazz, opera, ballet, all the performing arts. She should check Carlos Santana honor the following year.
House band were the main players. I've seen them other years with other artists. Amazing musicians. You should watch The Kennedy Center Honors every year. Amazing original performances. There are numbers on YT
I'm sure Jason Bonham was emotional because he's sitting in his Dad's chair. And his Dad was Robert Plant's best friend and drummer, so that connection probably weighed on both of them more than anything else.
I could have missed new info on it , but I believe that what Robert doesn't like about this song is every garage band & their brothers screwing it up. From the interviews I've read/heard, he pretty much thinks that of all Zeppelin covers.😏
@@copperhopperwarren4788 Actually Plant said this was only cover he liked. Jimmy himself was excited about the choir. Plant told Ann Wilson he liked it a comment somewhere from one of folk in the choir stated that no one knew Jason was on drums until the performance they practiced with Dave Grohl . But the band covets this song and rarely gives permission to perform it.
The program was the "Annual Kennedy Center Honors" in - I think - 2012. The program pays tribute to industry legends every year and this year Lez Zeppelin was one of the honorees.
Not sure who else was honored that night with Led Zeppelin, but you can get the history of honorees online. It's an annual event. The Heart rendition of Stairway to Heaven that you reacted to may be the only authorized cover of that song. Robert Plant was largely responsible for the strict copyright enforcement and those signs you can still find in some music stores that ban the playing of StH buy those trying and testing instruments but they approved Heart's performance- likely because they know the Wilson sisters and believed they were up to the challenge. It takes Rock Godesses to pay proper tribute to Rock God's! Great reaction!
@@billboyd9028 Yeah a lot of Zeppelin songs get copyrighted when I try to react to them. Some of them go through though. That's pretty cool about the event.
@AceofBadeReacts Lenny Kravitz did Whole Lotta love , Foo Fighters did Rock and Roll with Taylor Hawkins singing and Dave Grohl on drums, Kid Rock did Ramble on
